I am watching your video after the one in which you explain you intend to let your hair grow naturally. And although I am not supposed to understand what you've gone through with your having "black" or "african" features, I have to tell you this: YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL JUST THE WAY YOU WERE BORN. Don't let others undermine your confidence. If you could look at yourself with my eyes, you would understand how beautiful mother nature made you. Wear what it makes you happy and comfortable, and above all what keeps you healthy. No matter where you areor how old you are, you are going to be confronted by "social pressures". Some of them must be paid attention, i.e. those which help respect each other in our society and are sensible, the rest are most of them stupid conventions, and make a little black or african-american girl loathe her own natural self is for me very disrespectful (sorry, I do not know which expresion is correct, English is not my mother tongue). Wear what you want because you like it, not because others tell you so. Whatever you choose, you are going to be truly beautiful with it, because you ARE beautiful.
I hope I haven't offended you with my poor command of English. I know a little bit of peer pressure with some issues regarding my physical appearance and I think I can relate a tiny weeny bit. It is very hard, but in the end they will consider you a lost cause and leave you alone, and you'll enjoy your liberty. It's difficult to manage pressure, it's always there and in all aspects of life. One of our tasks in life is giving it the exact amount of importance, no more. You're in your way to rediscover your true self, and I am sure you will be tremendously succesful.
