Saint Laurent’s Baby Sac De Jour: A Review

In today's video, I'll be reviewing my YSL Baby Sac De Jour (www.ysl.com/au...) which I've had since September of 2019. At the time of purchase, my baby retailed for $3260AUD but now, at the time of upload, it retails for $3350AUD. This video will give a brief rundown of the history of the bag and, of course, its pros and cons.

What's the essence of the lock since there is no zip??
Merem Nanya Hi, thank you so much for your question. The lock can actually be used on the small and large sizes as they have two zippers on the detachable pouch unlike the baby. ☺️
The original bags have non-removable interior pouches with a double zip that can be locked if you are at work and have to leave your desk for a minute or at a house party and leave your bag set somewhere etc.

Thank you so much! I agree with you, I think the baby is a more practical and versatile size as, unlike the nano, you can wear it at the crook of your arm and have a middle zip compartment. I’d love to know what size you end up getting. ☺️
I swing my lock around and tuck it inside of the bag if I’m doing a lot of walking. Also tuck it inside during storage to avoid dents on the bag from any pressing inside of the dust bag. Bought this in 2015 and still love it. 👍🏻

@@SofiNic The structure is still perfect. After getting a scratch (my fault), I stopped using it as an everyday bag. I walked into a woman holding a handheld shopping basket in a crowded store while looking the other way at merchandise. It’s a small scratch though. Oh and the silver hardware is still perfect too

Got the SDJ baby in dark beige in grain de poudre. Unfortunately didn't look exactly the same color as the picture but I still like it. I havent used it yet and I'm pretty afraid to right now!

Hi, how do you find the weight of the bag with all ur stuff in it? Is it manageable to carry all day?
Hi, thank you for your question! I think that what I carry is manageable especially when using the crossbody strap. I wouldn’t recommend carrying the bag with only the top handle for the entire day, especially if you’re carrying a full water bottle. I hope this helps! 😊💞

Hi, Thank you so much! With my experience, the SDJ doesn’t scratch easily. I’ve accidentally scratched the exterior of my bag multiple times and it hasn’t showed up. However, if you scratch the interior of the bag and the middle zip compartment it will show up since it’s made up of smooth leather. ☺️

omg i am have been wanting this bag for so long and i finally got one last week. I am (impatiently haha) waiting for it to come in 😭 anyways i was just wondering do you think it will be worth getting a bag insert just to keep it from saggy 😕 and does the lock in Clochette dent/ mark the bag when it’s swinging?

The Sac De Jour is such a classic and timeless piece! Did you order yours online?
With my experience, the clochette hasn’t left any indentations or markings since mine is in grained leather. However, I’ve just taken a closer look at mine under artificial light and I can see that there is sheen at the friction points.
Which kind of leather did you get yours in? Depending on what type of leather you get, your bag may become unstructured over time. I’ve had mine for roughly a year now and it’s still as structured as it was when I first got it. It might also depend on how you organise the contents of your bag and how you store it. I store mine with the padded inserts that it came with which might be helping it retain its shape.
Personally, I would find it more useful to get a bag insert if you got the Sac De Jour in a small or large and if you’re using it with the interior leather compartment detached and with the accordion sides stretched. It also really depends on your personal preference.

Does it fit a water bottle, lovely?!
Yes, it does. As you can see in the video it can hold a 600mL bottle and it can definitely hold larger ones if you expand the accordion sides and remove the internal compartment. i hope it helps. Again, i’m so sorry for such a late response. ❤️
