Guessing you didn't watch the video. I make it very clear that I can't recommend this to most people. There's good stuff in here but it's a huge ask. Again, another thing I make clear. Though it's subjective anyway. You may not like it and think it's garbage, but others love it.
I LOVE this game, but in the first few hours I didn't expect that I would love it so much. In the first few hours I was a little disappointed, because I wanted a game like "Inquisition". But now that I finished "The Veilguard " for the first time, I'm so deeply in love wirh this fantastic game, that I want to play it a second time. "The Veilguard " doesn't deserve all the hate it gets from the toxic gaming community. But let's be honest: this community sucks.
There's definitely toxicity present in any fandom and Dragon Age is no different. In fact, sometimes it is worse than others. But the ones drawn here, to this video (according to my analytics) are mostly the anti-woke crowd unfortunately. But yeah, hey, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've got friends who are on their 4 or 5th playthrough already haha
Yeah, I felt the same way! The start was super slow, and things got repetitive fast, but by the time it picked up near the end, I was really into it. Just wish it didn’t take so long to get there. Great review-nice to know I’m not the only one who had mixed feelings about it!
I also had mixed feelings. Lot's of things I didn't like, lots of valid criticism I agree with. But I still enjoyed it and glad I finished. It had potential I could see. If Bioware doesn't do better next time though it'll be the end of DA for me
We'll see how they tackle Mass Effect, but yeah, I agree. I mean I defend Andromeda and this game too, but I really hope their future instalments return to form. And same here, I enjoyed it by the end, but I can't tell people to go out and spend $90 CAD on something I'm not confident they'd also enjoy until there's a steeper sale than the one that's on now.
I’m sorry, but I have to disagree with you about the writing. This game is so dull that I found myself logging off and struggling to feel motivated to log back in and continue playing. It felt like a chore. If the writing were better, the companions would be more memorable. The only character I can recall is Taash, who is nonbinary, and that's only because it was mentioned in almost every conversation. She came across as quite immature, almost like a child throwing a tantrum. I also remember Lace Harding mainly because she was in Inquisition. I still haven't beaten the game, and I’ve put around 60 hours into it. I have never played a game that was so difficult to get through. Another frustrating aspect is that the game tries to give the player the illusion of choice, but the options are limited to (Happy to Help), (Jokingly Help), or (Sturnly Help). It feels like a joke.
The game was disappointing, the story line was not bad, but the characters were not well thought out. The character creation was probably the highlight of the game, although every character looks like people in cosplay somehow, It's just weird. The score was trash imo. The dialogue was stupid and felt like it was written by the pr department at bioware. The characters were probably people from the office in fact😂 All in all the game felt like being babysat or being a babysitter at times, to a bunch of narcissists, it was irritating because it changed the overall mood of the game.
I loved the game from start to finish, but I do agree that it does get repetitive with the combat, and the story had a very slow start. But that ending though really did hit. I ended up getting platinum for the game 😭 I only hope that in the future BioWare learns from this and improves upon it
Yeah it's definitely got potential and it's not a bad game, but it feels like they weren't sure what type of game they wanted to make, resulting in this. Makes me worry about how they're going to handle Mass Effect 5 😅
Trash game in almost every way. Also using the word non binary in a fantasy game is a big turn off. All the dialogue felt way too modern too. Only good thing was some of the locations. It’s just another game that felt like it needed to mindlessly insert their political agenda because they have no self control.
I'm only 40 hours in at this point (I bought it for Christmas and I work), but I am enjoying it. Like it isn't bg3. But I think people forget the flaws of the past DA games. Also, how upset people were about gay characters in the past. I'm having fun. I don't regret the money or time spent on the game at this point. I am really sick of some of the takes out there and found yours refreshing.
Yeah the reaction is definitely overblown and people can't just let others enjoy things. I mean I'm convinced they don't enjoy anything at this point except for complaining about trivial stuff like that, calling everything woke. There is obviously room for critique and conversation about the game itself, and then respecting other's opinions on it. It should end there. But unfortunately, it doesn't. Either way, glad you're having fun and found my take refreshing 😄

I didn’t pay $60 for ‘half decent’.
When you settle for that and don’t call it out, you give developers permission to rip you off with garbage.

Wanted to say Congrats on the 500....just didn't know where to write that 🙂
Thanks Purple! Appreciate it 😄
