Victor really reminds me of Tag 2 Lars. - CH launching mid - CH launching db4 - FC game - Lots of standing punishment options Curious how his stances play out. I'm not a stance-heavy player. What do you guys think?
Victor being a stance based character is to be expected as he has that Raven DNA. And I feel like Tekken 8 in general is big on stances, all the characters with stances have gotten more options out of stance, even secondary heat smashes you can option select in stance. It's just the characters that traditionally didn't have stances that are still without it but even some of them have installs. Still, my initial impression was that Victor was Noctis 2.0 but you've changed my mind, he really does feel more like Kuni.
I saw in the showcase that d+1,1 doesn't seem to be a natural combo as originally stated in JakubDi's movelist video. Also, there was no showing or mentioning of uf+2, which is another of his tracking move and I really wanted to see its properties. Other than these issues, I'm really liking Victor's overall gameplan as a timing-based counterhit character.
yo phiDX just a thought for more content in the future im sure the tekken community would love if you did more break downs like this in a text format while going over the character itself anyway just a thought thank you for each of the characters
I'd be surprised if they do mostly big nerfs it's clear they want every character to have really good offensive tools to encourage aggressive gameplay.
Are you sure he doesn't have any scary lows? There's the low high nh combo, and i22 ch launcher, the d4 that gets extra damage on counter hit too. All of these tools are plus on hit. I'd say he's a contender for the best set of lows in the game.
Great video again. But I am going to post this in every one of your videos. When are you going to do Ulsan vs Arsalan TWT final analysis. Do you hate Ulsan? That was the final as Ulsan is better than CBM or AO - TWT and Evo USA finalists. And his matches with Arsalan were way more entertaining. I just want to know why Ulsan lost his matches. What did he do wrong?
hey Phi, anyway we can get a copy of the notes you had in this video? Also, have you thought about making a discord? Ill be playing victor as well come release and figured all aspiring PhiDX fans and victor fans could share tech.
Pretty much flash vs substance. Dragunov is widely known for ages, and his gameplay design per se is grounded so that you're perfectly aware of what is going on. This abomination of a design called Victor is all over the place with all the John Wick meets Metal Gear Rising shenanigans, but Dragunov is still more solid overall and has more substance on his key buttons.
@@NovaSeikenthat's still too early to judge. We still don't know what this character has to offer at the highest level and whether or not his toolkit/playstyle is a good feat for how Tekken 8 would be played optimally.
I actually think UF11 will be a better punish from WS than ws1+2 is. UF11 is 30 damage and has mad + frames but unsafe on block, as where ws1+2 is -8 on block and does 27 damage.

Even Jack got a stance now so they are going heavy into stances for some reason @@alanlegend6751
Glad we have someone pioneering Vic content like this
Damn good breakdown! Cannot wait for Dragunov that Sephi match got me hella hype

Get your vanilla ranks before the nurf buff season. Many characters will be obliterated. Everyone is damn near a boss character.
It’s perfect
I personally love when balancing is basically make everyone overpowered, its fun
@Carlisho as long as the game has decent defensive options, it's better for everyone to be OP
I'd be surprised if they do mostly big nerfs it's clear they want every character to have really good offensive tools to encourage aggressive gameplay.
Jin, Jun, and Claudio is especially strong at lauch as they were in the beta. Jin and Jun hasn't changed based on the demo and redbull stream
Finally blessed with new Drag footage🙏
Hope Sephi sticks with him
Was so looking forward to this video and heating your thoughts on the character!!!
Bruh you are silly fast on this fam, this happened like an hour ago.
DaddyKing already has some footage of his Victor in ranked matches. Character looks mad scary at first sight.
what was the victor sequence at 0:18 ?
I actually cannot wait to get my hands on Drag & Victor . That Iai stance is scary

d1,1 isn't natural, and d4 is -3 oH
By "scary" people usually mean power lows that give advantage (stature kick + hatchet type moves)

Loving how victor looks
Victor might have to be my secondary after Feng
Oh fk Victor is going to be a successor of Kunimitsu isn't she?

i second this, a community discord would be great

Victor is the replacement for Noctis.
Viktor feels so good
Victor pog
Where is the Gosain breakdown? YT?

Not strong as noctis i think
Victor seem like he playing a different game compared to drag. Drag seems so limited compared to him

@@NovaSeiken Yeah but at the end of the day Dragunov hasn't seen many buffs, still no ch utility c'mon who's gonna fall for df1,4? 😔

@@IsMa-he5grwhen you try to get out of df1 pressure with a g-clef that's when the extension will kick in.
I don’t like that Drag’s 44 no longer bounds in a combo 😅 made the combos look so sick in T7
uf1, 1 being a ws 13f punish too is pretty chunky ngl.
Finally some high level dragunov gameplay!
Do you still by any chance the copy of those Victor Breakdown notes?
Always happy to see more breakdowns! Vincent really grew on me over time!

Ooooooh
Does UF11 also wall splat ?
@@PK-ow1kjI think it does it has that knock-them-on-their-ass animation kinda like DvJ's ws14 now
I honestly don’t see the resemblance with Noctis gameplan nor his moves, he seem only more complicated and tricky.
Love the content keep it up brother
victor looks interesting to me as a moveset but i hate his character design. might still give him a chance
Haha I had the opposite response
Will you give it a try ?
is uf11 a punisher? If so then his ws punisher isn't weak anymore
Yeah I totally missed that. If it's natural then that'd be crazy

You gotta react to ayo Richie’s set
That one's next!
Great analysis!
