I remembered as a child my mind told me that if I play the level perfectly (no specific details on how to make it perfect) I would unlock a fifth level that takes place on the icy part of the map...and I shared that myth to my classmates. Ah, childhood memories...
Well, eventually the sequel Platypus II 's first level took place in an icy area, so... you aren't entirely wrong that we won't ever play that area :'D XD

@@thedestroyer1339 Although I've already known that loong ago, it's still pretty impressed how such a classy-arcade style-like game had such amazing lore just by changing the environments and its aesthetics from previous known levels, including all the other levels, and the sad part, there are no more sequels to Platypus 2, I assume they discontinued it or something. Would really like Platypus 3 rn, idc if it didn't aged well, I just wanted to play my classic childhood game in 2021 lol
Technically true, since platypus 2 has the ice level in it.
There was going to be a fifth level *X* which was cut from the game. Whether it was meant to be some 5th level or a shortcut to the final boss after beating the game, we'll never know.
6:22 - 7:45 part is awesome.
There’s an environmental theme to this whole game. The 4th level shows what the humanoids Of planet Mongola have done to a portion of the planet. The first 3 levels show the balanced and pure nature of the planet

I agreed, the gameplay is INCREDIBLE despite having an old game is better than the future. Platypus is my childhood game that I'll never forget! (yet I'm still playing it till' this very day)

Yeah. So funny, simple game. In the ending, so ominous soundtrack and sad background. I loved that.
But this theme should play during the finall boss battle.
Incomplete without the thunderships in the first part and the endless thunder powerup in the last.

The new mid boss he will try to kill you, he fires the laser from the players
The new weapon called Lightning, the coolest weapon from that game. But actually the ship will biggest explosion with the weapon pods or lasers, full of fruits and very kureiji area. The best mission ever to reach the high scores. The final boss, he launch the homing missiles, he spawn the yellow egg enemies and call the support of green egg or cylinder eggs.

I heard some people thought that if you beat the entire game perfectly, a secret fifth level would open up, but no one has disproven that, nor proven it, so its shrouded in mystery.

If you destroy the flipping plane with lighting and turrets without giving it a chance to flip, it will give you alot of fruits and extra ship too.
