Yes we are close to Indonesia independence day so you can find like this, even in school we have like special perfomance like dancing, art, singing folks or cultural Indonesia this Music video represent like that back to school performing folk song, In this medley many folk song in many region Indonesia, like java, sunda, betawi, bali, papua etc
I love the idea behind the songs and the costumes. Indonesia is made up of a whole lot of Islands with different cultures and languages. The medley weaves together songs for all across indo, each girl wears a constume traditional of her island but also the uniform that a school girl would wear so sharing the identity of both their island and of indo as a whole.
Well, Keroncong y'know. it all began from 1661. from Portuguese sailors music (Fado) to Traditional Indonesian musics. especially from Surakarta Regions
You might want to know: • most Indonesians probably don't understand all the lyrics (those folk songs come from another province with different language/dialect). • that white and grey-blueish? long skirt is an Indonesian high school uniform
thanks for reacting to Hololive ID Medley, while i have listen to this cover before, but watching your video made me realize all the detail and able to understand more to this Medley.

@@coffeereaction It's actually on the 17th, but starting from August 1 until the end of the month even though the 17th has passed, Indonesia will be enlivened with a month-long Independence Day celebration.
Welcome to Rabbit Hole, Mate. Hololive ID or Hololive in general is full of great talents, you must check them next, especially for the Indonesian branch. 👌
lol that Buka Pintu song was so simple. But the song was so strong musically because Maluku (or Molucca) people are well known to be very good at singing and some of our greatest singers came from there.
So I'm gonna assume you're not too familiar with the singers here, but I want to share a funny anecdote in response to 7:57. The singer for this part, Kobo, is very close to the other members that she used to just come to the other's house and "loot" the stuff they no longer use (she's like the little sister of the group and it's all in good spirits). The funny part is that one time she straight up shows up in front of the other's door at 4 AM, waking them up, asking to be let in. And she broadcasted all of it on Twitter Space too! So the fact that she sings a song about being locked out and begging to be let in is hilarious and is probably a very intentional choice.

Yes some folksongs are meant for kids that's why sometimes the meaning isn't that deep and sometimes a sentence isn't connected to the other even if it's the same song cause it's meant for children to play around with. But some songs do have meanings especially the 2 last songs: the one with whole holoid and the one moona sang

since you're from Turkey, here's a fun fact about Aceh, a province from one of the song. Before Indonesia become, well, Indonesia, Aceh is just a Sultanate. But it used to be Ottoman Turkey Protectorate one time before the decline of Ottoman Empire. Thus why Aceh Sultanate used to thrive because no one want to invade it. Of course it falling apart the moment the Ottomans no longer able to protect their own Sultanate from slowly collapsing. Aceh is also one of the richest Sultanate who supported the formation of the new Indonesian Republic and one of its biggest financial contributor. This is why Aceh is given special province status and allowed to have Sharia Law combined with our other laws.
