    Great videos on anaemia... Thank you so much for making things easier... Please upload one on Macrocytic anemia and one on Normoytic... That will really be helpful.

    good presentation but too your other vids are too scattered, please do one presentation for macro, one for norm and one for micro, and then one just for destruction anemias.

    I think the concentration is the same if you divide the cell in two. Say the volume is 1 dm3 in the big ones. The concentration is 4Hb/dm3 in the sick large one and on the small ones 2/0.5dm3=4Hb/dm3. Instead i think that during the extra cell divison Hb-production is still going on so in your example 2 more Hb molecules are produced. The small ones then get 3Hb/0.5dm3=6Hb/dm3 like the healthy big one and then stop dividing (becoming a reticulocyte)

    Anaemia, as defined by WHO, is not too few RBCs but rather a reduction of haemoglobin below normal ranges for the individual. Other than that this is a very useful revision tool :)

    • @scuhsa
      @scuhsa 9 років тому +1

      not just heamoglobin. anaemia is qualitative and/or quantitative reduction in haemoglobin or RBCs or both

    In book it is given that protein deficiency leads to hypochromic "macrocytic" anemia.
    It shouldn't be microcytic instead of macrocytic

  • @Sam-ie1qv
    @Sam-ie1qv 6 років тому +1

    ?i have a question, first of all, why a small RBC it's a problem for the patient
    ?and the second question if we do the extra division so why we end up with a lesser RBC

    • @A1010RBAY
      @A1010RBAY 6 років тому

      small rbcs carry few oxygen because of hemoglobin inside it is few aswell, which may lead to hypoxia and eventually death to the patient. simple as that.

    Great video on anemia thank you very much. May i ask u a question:
    You said microcytic anemia is all about a problem in making hemoglobin; so my question is how a sideroblastic anemia could be a problem in making a protoporphyrin part..? Please make it clear for me beacause my teacher told me that it's a condition that the body has enough iron but the cell can't use that iron so im confused plse help me.

    This helps a lot! May I ask a question: Why does RBC division can increase the concentration of Hb in the RBC?

    • @derekbrown5448
      @derekbrown5448 9 років тому +2

      +Bùi Xuân Bảo Danh The "extra division" of the RBC decreases its size, so it doesn't need as much Hb in it to be considered "full" - the concentration increased.

    • @sherylschloss2280
      @sherylschloss2280 2 роки тому

      There is not an actual cell division. The cells are made smaller as they are being produced in the bone marrow because of the decreased amount of hemoglobin. If the cells were dividing to accommodate the lower amount of hemoglobin, then there would be an increased RBC count.

      I was about to comment the same thing. I had to put my speed on 1.5 because I felt like a lot of time was spent waiting for a word to be written, and during that time the word would be repeated 3 times. I'd suggest post production speeding up the portions where we're waiting for the handwriting to complete, or I notice some of your colleagues in other videos just continue with the concept they're talking about while finishing the writing.
