Lol your making me want to visit Chicago and try a lot of these spots Mike! Again another great video! I think I was cheering on some of these trains also! :)
Cool video of these trains in Chicago, Illinois. Chicago has a lot of cool trains. I would like to visit the trains in Chicago, Illinois. I am going to be visiting the California State Railroad Museum today. I am also going to be riding the Santa Cruz Big Trees & Pacific Railroad from Roaring Camp, for their Holiday Lights Train on either December 3rd or 4th of 2022.
Fantastic video showing the variety of Amtrak, Metra and CP trains. The different locomotives and railway carriages on the passenger trains are very nice. Great long freight trains. Excellent filmed. Wish a nice weekend.
Thanks for sharing your video and information. I grew up in Chicago and have family & friends still living in the area. I traveled from Carbondale via AMTRAK to Union Station Chicago then METRA to Harvard IL. a few years ago. The Food Service attendant on AMTRAK train had graduated from High School as I. He pointed out some historical locations & coaling stations along the tracks
Great video! Nice to see you around my home territory. That story hill spot looks great. Surprisingly, I’ve never been there. I’ll have to go sometime.
Awesome job Mike! Glad you got to come to the Midwest again! Loved the CP Amtrak And Metra Footage! Also appreciate you visiting Southern Wisconsin as I hope the next generation railfans appreciate the Midwest a lot more! This video really made my day!
Great video ad always Mike. Chicago is one of the places on my bucket list to railfan. I have already taken Amtrak Empire builder 7 to Seattle from Chicago
@@CoasterFan2105 Not a problem, and I know right? I was in town for a week lol, it is a nice angle up there, that bridge is just a little shaky when the trains are coming by lol. We hung out til after 246 came by and headed towards town.
Nice video Mike! You did quite the documentary of stuff along the CP Chicago & Milwaukee Sub. In reference to what you said about Amtrak planning to extend sevice for the Hiawatha, I honestly think that would be a great idea because from the timetable, it makes it look a lot more like an express commuter train run, and I also think different cities in Wisconsin really could use commuter rail like Milwaukee, Green Bay, Janesville, Madison and Wisconsin Dells along with some form of metro, subway and/or light rail service. In addition to that, I'm kinda disappointed on the capacity Amtrak's Hiawatha has had with the trains now being formed of 3 or 4 coaches mostly. I would be kinda happy if the state sponsored services would get some new doubledecker coaches like maybe if Alstom had something in mind since Nippon Sharyo's deal was a bust. Not to mention, I think maybe a Tier 4 style of the Genesis would be amazing to see on Amtrak, even for the state sponsored services in California - maybe North Carolina and the Midwest as well!
@@CoasterFan2105 Indeed, because in my opinion, the condition of Amtrak's trains for capacity and whatnot is not looking in good shape. Something I would love to see is Multiple Unit sets for the services, as one of my friends came up with ideas in which I wanna try to have a further talk with Amtrak, a few other rail agencies and the train manufacturers to see if they would be a great idea. Heck I think we also need more electric trains too.
Awesome job! But 6:46 is a sand train and at 7:35 is CP 246
Thanks for the info! I’ll pin it to the top.

i think Metra wanted to revive the f40c on a different face the sd70mach

I never seen a CP painted in Orange, they are always painted in Red.
Yes! This is a rather unique unit. There is one other locomotive in the CP fleet painted in this orange color.

Can you do trains in Oregon if you get a chance. Also nice video that catch with CP 8781 was great.
Hi
Hey Mike are you going to do a locomotive farewell video for the Coaster F59PHI locomotives?
For some weird reason Metra Refuses to purchase locos with engines built other than EMD despite the possible fact that EMD no longer exists.
EMD does Exist its now called Progress Rail
Hey my friend get ready to see union pacific 3985, 5511 and 6936 now on the way.

What comes in the future for Metra
SD70MAC locomotives should be entering service very soon.
