We've been fortunate with November as the hurricane season is usually slowing down by then. The temperatures are consistent all year long, so you should enjoy warm water with tropical sunshine! Prices are typically a little lower as well due to the possibility of hurricanes, but if you plan on booking and flying out the same week you can typically see out at least 10 days with decent accuracy concerning any tropical disturbances. We never worry about the thunderstorms in the forecast since they rarely last more than an hour in the afternoons. Have fun!!

@@craigmason7242 the store where we got the sunscreen from is within walking distance (less than 1 mile), along a main road with sidewalks on both sides. We used Google Maps on our phones to guide us and also went for morning runs past the shopping areas. Have a nice vacation!

Thanks for the comment! There are preferred sections for the pool, an area on the beach, in the main lobby and one restaurant (Seaside grill) for breakfast and lunch. I believe the preferred rooms are actually spread out among several buildings. We saw a sign near our building (Mar Azul side of the resort) that said it was Preferred rooms, but I suspect there are more in other buildings since we were not super close to the preferred pool area.

It was plenty warm, mid 80's during the day perfect for swimming to cool off. The temperature in DR is sunny & hot year-round. Hurricane season typically ends in November, so hopefully things will be slowing down in terms of storms soon.
We haven’t been to Grand Moon Palace, but from looking online it looks like the resort in Cancun is very kid friendly with a lot of activities for families. From what we’ve experienced with AMR brands (Secrets/Dreams) this was a typical resort in their mid-range price.

The food is good, our favorites were SeaSide Grill and Fusion. I was not very impressed with the seafood restaurant (Oceana). If you upgrade to the Preferred Club you can eat breakfast an lunch at SeaSide Grill - otherwise it's only available for dinner.

You don't need a test (currently) to get TO the resort, only to get back to your home country. I think you’ll have a great time either way! It was nice having breakfast at seaside, it was better than the buffet. If the resort is not too busy, the regular beach area should have plenty of seating. There is a small area near the pool for preferred club, but we didn’t use it. It was nice having a concierge for restaurant reservations, but the resort wasn’t very busy so we may have been able to get the same times on our own. I think if it’s busy the preferred club is more worth it, otherwise save the money. Have fun!!

We haven’t been to Grand Moon Palace, but from looking online it looks like the resort in Cancun is very kid friendly with a lot of activities for families. From what we’ve experienced with AMR brands (Secrets/Dreams) this was a typical resort in their mid-range price.
