thank you very much for the lyrics. People like me, who don't speak Swahili, appreciate it. This is a very good song with a powerful meaning. Sauti Sol are really blessed guys.
#proudofbeingafrican
+Andreia Feliciano
This is not Swahili, song has been sung in a Kenyan dialect "vernacular language".Specific tribe in Kenya called LUHYA.
This song was my friend's last status before he passed on in a plane crash on 12/01/21. I'll miss you Michael😭💔A heart is broken, a girl is dying inside. Rest easy my guardian angel💓
I am sorry for your loss. May God comfort you.
Sorry sweatheart it's well
Pole hope. You are the HOPE that you need.

2023 and I'm still here ❤Good music does not age
Who else is feeling the Oliver Mtukudzi vibe somewhere.....Sauti Sol just took the mantle from our old man (R.I.P)....
2019 anyone? If you can relate to the song
Camping here on Nov.
🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬 this song need to be in pharmacy because it’s cures a lot
Sautisol is the best...give like if u agree.
@SautiSol I am late at discovering you guys, but dang!!!! I have not slept for 2 days catching up on your music. Much love from USA
Accidentally listened to this song on 1.5x playback speed 🔥🔥🔥🔥😭😭😭
i love this song hata ka siradi any,
I miss you mum... 🖤
Sautisol bring back a pure luhya sog like this. Meh. .....n!!! This makes proud
8 yrs later it still hits the same 👌
2021 🇨🇲
Sauti Sol 🔥❤️ Manunu !!!
This song is so sweet, but why has the song not received enough likes. I blame the useless and baseless Kenyan media. KTN, Citizen, KBC, K24, EBRu including Radio stations Radio Jambo, kiss etc. Very useless media...they don't promote Kenyan music
watching this song alafu nakumbuku you guys are parting ways inauma sana
I have seen Sauti Sol do so much music over the years, I have danced, I have been touched and listened over and over BUT none has ever lived in my heart like 'Awinja' , not even because I am female but simply because this is a very powerful song in a language I personally had a shemeji friend translate for me after watching the motivating video several times. This for me, is an all time winner, and even in 2030 and beyond I will not take back my words. This is the real face of live and die in Africa. Chimano is something else though: his vocals are just unique and up to date I can single out his voice from the rest.
Mum Johns together in this
I am with you on this .. This is my favourite Sauti Sol track and I concur Chimano's vocals does it for me ..rich voice
This is the best that reminds me when my ex wife left me for a richer guy coz I was sacked. Now am happily married while the rich guy left her after just few months, I listen to this song and it reminds me where I come from
This is my favorite song from Sautisol. After I got the translation I loved it even more. This song is so deep on so many levels
@@gmarshar what's the translation?
I APPRECIATE ALL MOTHERS AROUND THE WORLD
I'm here after the sol Christmas live performances
Team 2021!!! this song still slaps......
Dem base guitar is on point..👌
I appreciate how Sauti sol tells the Kenyan and most importantly, the African story........ this is a common societal construct problem that most never seems to be bothered by. But closure is important. We need to find out and resolve the problems Awinja is facing and why she left. Critically appreciating the fact that no woman likes walking away from her family. The social construct is the problem and we must seek to resolve this at the onset. Being deliberate in our choices of who should be our spouses as opposed to settling for them temporary.....’ thereby antagonising each other and making relationships hard while demonising marriage. IT IS A CRY FOR HELP!!!!!
CHIMANOS voice is something ,makes me proud to be a luhya the song is totally awesome unlike the current songs you are doing this song lives on
me too, mwana wa ingo !!!💃💃💃💃💃🎵🎶🎼🎸
I lov it
MISS KALIESA hahaha lol i thought i was the only one with that feeling.. Bien's voice too... Talk about chills
I am not Luhya but every time they sing in Luhya it makes me feel a type of way! The music resonates in the sould! They are so talented and I enjoy Chimanos' deep voice.
This songs deserves over 20 million views kenyans we need to support our guys

🇰🇪🤝🏾🇿🇦
so emotional my late mother in-law was called Awinja i miss her
Njeri Maina she’s in a better place. ❤️
Kareoke version con this is my fav song
My Luhya is abit rusty but I think in a nutshell it means
Awinja,Awinja, please come quickly, the children are asking where has Mummy gone....
Written coz Biens mum was always abroad, and his mum is called Awinja so I guess this song honours her.
2023 and still has the same feeling
I knew sauti soul when they did a song with Patoranking, Melanin, I cant believe how awesome these guys are, their music! Just touches the soul.
I don't understand a single thing but i feel and love this song soo much❤

***** The song has been sang in a Kenyan dialect known as Luhya. It is basically a trbute to all mothers for all the effort they put in and all the struggles they go through to raise their children.
