I had been playing an unofficial version for years, so this will be my first time being able to play and interact with the Sims community, and I'm SOOOO excited

As one of the new players, I'm glad the creators I enjoy are posting videos like this. I'm migrating to the sims 4 from the sims 3 and it's just different enough to be difficult to adapt. So thank you so much I've always really liked your builds (as a Floridian they feel more familiar and I'm more found of the style) plus this was extremely helpful
Ok I just need to say this. Now that we know the sims team is down for more life stages we absolutely need preteens. Like why does my kid go from being afraid of the monster under the bed to looking like a high school senior on steroids
Don’t know if you know but they have a preteen mod! I know it’s not the same as having an official preteen life stage but it’s really good for a mod. They are shorter than teens and taller than kids and still go to high school. So cute.
Just started playing after it went free, and now I'm already addicted haha. Probably gonna end up getting expansion packs eventually because the base game is a little bit dry at times ngl 😂
@@leisuartsu Well...... There's definitely people who play base game only and enjoy it, especially if you add some mods there. It really depends in your gameplay style. The problem with basegame is that it lacks a lot of normal things of life like restaurants, pets, weather, fame, beaches interactive jobs, interactive schools, etc. Plus the dlc's add some extra fun content as vampires, witches, aliens, bowling, spas. I do recommend you watch Plumbella's pack ranking videos before getting a pack though, there's some that feel like they'll be fun but are broke/boring. ALSO, there's videos here on youtube on how to make basegame-only-gameplay fun
the base game is rly dry, adding mods is fun and uno if you are tech savy you can also just look at anadius and download all the packs budget proof (cough). I did it for me an my sis lmao it took a couple hours but was so worth it

I used to always just download lots from the gallery to furnish because building stressed me out so much, but lately I've been watching your build streams a lot more intently and I think I'm finally starting to enjoy it! I appreciate your little tips so much.

Thus Maxis and their endless puns. OASIS SPRINGS - two words that mean overflowing with water, is a DESERT town lol So many puns in this game. XD My advice is READ all the text! Read the messages sims send you, read the item/object descriptions, hover over items and sims in live mode and read those descriptions. Maxis is quite hilarious with their puns. Don't let it go to waste!

This vid got me thinking it'd be cool to see a '1 house 3 budgets' challenge. So a house on a starter budget, then the same house decorated with a mid-range budget, and a super spendy version to finish. I'd be interested to see what Simsie would prioritise in the builds as she gets more money!
That the base game is now free, is good for the new people or the people who got it of Pirate Bay or whatever site. Also nice for the people who are still playing with Sims 3 and now can freely jump to the Sims4. It’s bittersweet for me long players who are always loyal and are now kind of in limbo. Or they keep playing, which most of them will. But will not invest money for new stuff, one because some can not afford it, to some a surprise , but there are people who are still playing only with two packs…simply because they are so expensive. But also, if you want to play the Sims4 right you need a good pc. I will not bother with the details. Another great video for the beginners and also for the long players , because you always find something different to build. Have a great day
i bought the sims for my ps4 back when it came out on consoles and my ps4 recently broke and i didn’t wanna buy it again but now that it’s free i downloaded it on my cousin’s xbox he’s been letting me borrow!!! spent like two days getting my world all set up and replaced all the lots with your base game builds, you’re definitely my favorite builder for the sims!!!! ❤

Funnily enough, there was a special deal thing on Origins that once allowed people to download Sims 4 for free during a small window of time. I don’t remember when it happened, but my friend told me on Discord and I quickly downloaded it. I wonder if that event was a precursor/experiment to see if more people would play the base game if it was free? Either way, I got the base game for free well before they made it permanently official.
Me too. I got it for free like 4 years ago and didn't actually start playing until 2020. EA has done this occasionally for games that have been out a couple of years, this was also how I got Mass Effect 2 back in the day.

I dislike and am a little tired of budget builds as well, but it's not like it's the only thing she does. October 16th: "i built an ALL PINK house in the sims", no budget, over 20 packs. October 9th: "lilsimsie built a modern house for once", modern build, many packs, no budget. So your wish has already been granted for October!
I just feel like she's done a lot of similar looking modern houses before and all pink houses before. I wish we could see more of the amazing building skills that she showcased with the snowy escape houses she made for EA. Also, all of her legacy houses??? PHENOMENAL. I also loved the simsie fix me renovation builds she used to do with her subscriber's gallery houses. She's so talented but we only get small hints of it here and there. I think it's because she uploads every day though, that's got to take a lot of energy.
I downloaded the sims 4 the day it went free and the first time I actually played I quit after not even an hour because CAS completely overwhelmed me. The next day I tried again but for some reason every sim in town was being mean to my sim and I got frustrated. At this point I have around 5 hours spent playing this game. So I think for now I'll stay with my beloved Sims 3.
I've been playing Sims 4 for a while, and in the past few days sims seem to be autonomously being mean for the first time. I think it might have been something they changed in the update, and I suspect it's something they'll change back. It feels like a glitch (my sim with the Good and Family-Oriented traits and pristine reputation should not be randomly insulting her child) so it might be worth trying again after enough time for them to patch it

This house is cute. You build such cute houses without them costing a ton. You should build holiday houses. I'd love to see that. Or how about houses from movies like horror movies. lol
Oh wow this is actually really pretty! Really like the style of the house. Made a house themed like this but was way bigger and used motherlode to decorate and built it lol. I think an experienced, dare I say veteran builder in the Sims 4 will find a lot of things off in it. 😆It was like my 3rd or maybe 5th or something built. They are my favorite style next to like farmhouses.
I had bought Sims 4 years ago for my old Laptop and even got some packs! Though sadly I can't play it there anymore since the graphics and all suddenly cause problems etc... so now that it is free I got it on my Xbox and I love it the same way as I did a few years back xD I think I will at least rebuy the cats and dogs one and other than that buy packs I never had before to somewhat vary it from my Laptop version. I am looking forward to get myself the werewolf pack soon!

The one you labeled as Florida is California. My neighbor from our last house looked exactly like that. I'm not a fan of the garage like that either, but like you, I love the roof line.
Every once a year or so, I find myself wandering back to the TS4. And now I'm back for two reasons... one, because it's free, and two, because I'm moving apartments and wanted to model my current and future apartments so I could see how they square up. 😆
A video on how to download cc into the base game would really help new players . It's not as simple as in sims 3. Especially as sims 4 base game is super limited with items.
I've been recently watching your videos, even though I didn't have Sim 4, just because I liked your building style and you were fun to watch. Even though I knew it was going free I wasn't really interested in it since I was pretty invested in 3, but decided to give it a try after watching your videos. I was wondering if you'd be able/willing to do a comparison between Sims 3 and Sims 4 building for us newly arrived? It seems like there's a lot that's different! I haven't played a sims game since the first one, might download sims 4 and try it out. Does the price of the house have an effect on your sim in any way ? Or can you go with a crazy build from the get-go ?
If you want to play with sims in your build, your sims do have to pay for it. However, you can alway cheat to give yourself money. There’s also a cheat to make all property free regardless of price or location. Google is always your friend if you want to find up the cheats.
When you make a new family they normally come with 20,000 simoleons (a bit more for bigger families), so you can either buy: a) what we call "starter home"- a house that is below 20,000 simoleons and targeted to new familes; or b) an empty lot, whose value + the cost to build a house in it will be around the same price as methoad a. If you want to go over the top and build a more expensive house from the get-go, you'll have to cheat for money
I too have actually unofficially played I think 2015 on my daughter's account and oh my goodness I did do some builds there and I always thought they were kind of boring but extravagant because you know you want to try to do something nice so you end up spending more money, well, cheating to get more money rather, and I created so many other families to the point where I just got overwhelmed and started to feel anxiety! I was glad I wasn't able to play for a long time. Again it's my daughter's account but happy that I'm able to have my own account now and play only with one Sim now and I want to do the starting from scratch and working my way up type thing, although I've already made her a self-published Creator of Worlds but will not do any skills cheat and simply enjoy playing. I really like this build particularly with the different Dynamic shapes of the house and not just a simple square like what I tend to do. Since downloading the free base game and having my own account now I already built a property at Bargain Bend and someone liked it and downloaded it so that was pretty exciting for me and then I ended up downloading a nice little house in Willow Creek and that's where I have my Sim and I just remodeled the inside a bit. a good technique is searching those keywords (christmas, halloween, summer, whatever you want, etc.) and using the toolbar on the left to sort by most popular.

I love that the sims 4 is free now. It has such a new player base. I do hate the fact my birthday is in November and it goes away a few days before my birthday (the sales)
Because the older games are disc only. You'd need a disc and giving CDs out free is going to be expensive. Plus you can normally find the other sims games for couple of £ $ € 's (whatever currency you use) at a thrift or charity shop. With download it would be entirely free for the company. Plus it encourages people to spend getting packs making EA more money. People buying 2nd hand sims games discs makes EA zero dollars.

I don’t think ive ever built in oasis springs, I can’t get over the fact that it’s all desert like land
I always build/play there vs Willow Creek. I can’t get over how green it is in Willow Creek. Plus with seasons the thunderstorms are crazy.
its actually a really nice place to play and build. I find I use it more than Willow Creek esp for tiny homes .. they seem to fit better there somehow

The one you labeled as Florida is California. My neighbor from our last house looked exactly like that. I'm not a fan of the garage like that either, but like you, I love the roof line.

Every once a year or so, I find myself wandering back to the TS4. And now I'm back for two reasons... one, because it's free, and two, because I'm moving apartments and wanted to model my current and future apartments so I could see how they square up. 😆

the one advantage of paying for the sims back in the day is being able to make og mortimer and redesigned mortimer battle to the death
A video on how to download cc into the base game would really help new players . It's not as simple as in sims 3. Especially as sims 4 base game is super limited with items.

I've been recently watching your videos, even though I didn't have Sim 4, just because I liked your building style and you were fun to watch. Even though I knew it was going free I wasn't really interested in it since I was pretty invested in 3, but decided to give it a try after watching your videos.
I was wondering if you'd be able/willing to do a comparison between Sims 3 and Sims 4 building for us newly arrived? It seems like there's a lot that's different!

I haven't played a sims game since the first one, might download sims 4 and try it out. Does the price of the house have an effect on your sim in any way ? Or can you go with a crazy build from the get-go ?
If you want to play with sims in your build, your sims do have to pay for it. However, you can alway cheat to give yourself money. There’s also a cheat to make all property free regardless of price or location. Google is always your friend if you want to find up the cheats.
When you make a new family they normally come with 20,000 simoleons (a bit more for bigger families), so you can either buy: a) what we call "starter home"- a house that is below 20,000 simoleons and targeted to new familes; or b) an empty lot, whose value + the cost to build a house in it will be around the same price as methoad a. If you want to go over the top and build a more expensive house from the get-go, you'll have to cheat for money
I've been playing sims freeplay for years now I'm so happy i got sims 4 wanted it since i was 12 I'm 18 now but so happy 😊
I too have actually unofficially played I think 2015 on my daughter's account and oh my goodness I did do some builds there and I always thought they were kind of boring but extravagant because you know you want to try to do something nice so you end up spending more money, well, cheating to get more money rather, and I created so many other families to the point where I just got overwhelmed and started to feel anxiety! I was glad I wasn't able to play for a long time. Again it's my daughter's account but happy that I'm able to have my own account now and play only with one Sim now and I want to do the starting from scratch and working my way up type thing, although I've already made her a self-published Creator of Worlds but will not do any skills cheat and simply enjoy playing. I really like this build particularly with the different Dynamic shapes of the house and not just a simple square like what I tend to do. Since downloading the free base game and having my own account now I already built a property at Bargain Bend and someone liked it and downloaded it so that was pretty exciting for me and then I ended up downloading a nice little house in Willow Creek and that's where I have my Sim and I just remodeled the inside a bit. i know people that have bought the game might be upset but i am so happy this is so great because it makes the sims so much more accessible for everyone! so anybody can download and have fun creating their own sims and playing with them

a good technique is searching those keywords (christmas, halloween, summer, whatever you want, etc.) and using the toolbar on the left to sort by most popular.

I love that the sims 4 is free now. It has such a new player base. I do hate the fact my birthday is in November and it goes away a few days before my birthday (the sales)

I think because TS4 is mainly being played right now and deemed “popular” , so that’s why they’re making it free.. I suppose..
Because the older games are disc only. You'd need a disc and giving CDs out free is going to be expensive. Plus you can normally find the other sims games for couple of £ $ € 's (whatever currency you use) at a thrift or charity shop. With download it would be entirely free for the company. Plus it encourages people to spend getting packs making EA more money. People buying 2nd hand sims games discs makes EA zero dollars.
Base game free now just have to dish out the $950 for all the dlc
