If I ever get to make a movie of my characters I'll be using it cause it fits perfectly with their story, although this song tells a story on its own, it's so beautiful
It actually makes me feel quite unsettled. It’s like human souls that were lost in the war are joining in the poetic persona’s disclaim. Maybe it’s just me though. :’)
@@patri1255 yeah I feel like it was growing to have a more triumphant sound but like its almost like it's the people of London beating back fear but then it stops.
Lyrics: And we sit here so close in the dark And we're so close to being torn apart Ever crash I can feel in our foundation It runs through my veins and I hate the sensation But I know that I'm safe here with you Cause we made it through everything the old and the new Just wake me up when all this is over Wake me up and tell me it's not true My sweet love watch the air raids As the streets of London are not safe And I wish that we could escape As the beat of the drum keeps on its play And I long to feel the rain on my face So I wait, I want the bombs to fade away And the hum of the airplanes is such a sweet sound As we're coming up from underground Coming up to see our ruined state Coming up to see those ruins you made And in the east I hear a nation shout And we wait for the day that we can sing it out My sweet love watch the air raids As the streets of London are not safe And I wish that we could escape As the beat of the drum keeps on its play And I long to feel the rain on my face So I wait, I want the bombs to fade away My sweet love watch the air raids As the streets of London are not safe And I wish that we could escape As the beat of the drum keeps on its play And I long to feel the rain on my face

I just wanted to say this song literally gives me chills and moves me to tears every time I hear it. That may sound dramatic, but it's true. Please keep making music like this, you're amazing.
I keep coming back here, after oh- 3 years.. I still remember feeling the good vibes, it just felt like old times in another fantasy world that I may or may not exist. Maybe it was a bit exaggerated but why would I lie about the feeling that this song makes me feel? The adventure and old treasures that we get to discover, this song is like one of those moments when the protagonist is escaping a danger with a laid back manner.

Now that I've heard this through an advertisement then I tried searching about it, but man this is good. Now I badly want to know more about the story in each song
I'm just imagining the people to go through the war experiencing the air raids, listening to this song. I wish they could hear this song, I love how the melody and lyrics come together!
As a Ukrainian, this song is especially close to me. The streets of our cities are not safe for over 1.5 years in all regions. I met 24.02.22 in Severodonetsk and for the first time I lived in a basement, russian troops advanced so fast to my city and started bombing our houses. But soon I was able to escape from the besieged city and now I am in a safe place. I feel similar emotions as in this song, but I wish no one would ever have to relive such emotions. It's very painful. Thanks to everyone who supports Ukraine! We must stand together to defend freedom.
Wow. I am humbled that you shared this. Thank you and I am so glad you are safe. My heart goes out to you and your family and friends in that area. I will keep you all in my prayers. Thank you Max. God bless you.
I love the message here. The images of war and the "Wake me up and tell me it's not true". The idea, that one wants to feel the rain. But you can't feel the rain above the clouds, and in the streets you are not safe in war.
Wait a big moment, so this song is based on an actual event during WW2 called the Battle of Britain and the Blitz from 1940-41? If so, that shit insane. And did anyone also notice that the clouds show scenes of bombing raids and fighting during WW2?
I stopped listening to ur songs a WHILE ago and this was my absolute favourite song :( but suddenly I remembered and I spent a few days wondering wth was his name??? And this song just popped into my head and OMG I was just so happy!! So here I am now lol :)
My fellow citizen. If you are hearing this tape, then the world as we knew it has finished. The sky has broken, the ground heaves with the tramp of terrible feet, and all the horror and madness from the dark corners of the world has broken free to exact its vengeance on the world of Man. Those who sought to contain them are killed or scattered, and we soon learnt that to attempt to fight these creatures is almost invariably to face one’s death. Countless billions have been slaughtered in their attempt to sate their endless appetite for death, and there is nothing-was nothing- we could do to stop them. Evil has raised its bloody flag upon all nations of the world and crowed its unholy victory to the broken sky. Yes, this is the end. But there is a new hope. Welcome to UnLondon, a city of the survivors, a city of the free. Together, fellow citizen, we will wait and prepare for the new beginning, the grand new world that is soon to come. Let the world above burn. We will endure. Let the monsters have their world. We will prepare. And let the ground tremble with a new Armageddon, as evil consumes itself, for I tell you, citizen, upon the day of the ruination of Man, their insatiable appetites will turn them against one another in their endless lust for death. We will wait. And I tell you, citizen, that there will be a new morning. And you will emerge from UnLondon, and stand blinking in the sun, as our children play and laugh in the bones of horrors long dead. And you will walk, hand in hand, to the sea, our faces skywards, as the rising sun ushers in the new age of Man. And you will gather, citizen, at my feet as I summon UnLondon from its rest, and it shall burst, phoenix-like, from the ashes of the old. And on that day, citizen, there shall be a new order, as we raise the Union Flag over the entire world. I welcome you to UnLondon, the Last City. And the first.

I always think of my great grandma with this song. She was in the UK during these air raids, and she did everything she could to keep her kids safe. My friend recommended it to me and it is so touching and describes that longing for peace and love after a time of conflict so perfectly. It really gives me Caitlyn and Vi from arcane vibes (like nearly all the lines can be connected to a moment in their relationship almost exactly). It’s so touching and it’s made me cry multiple times because it’s so sweet and innocent and loving. I really love every time the chorus comes in and listening to it with headphones where I can hear different voices/instruments in each ear. Beautiful song and it made me want to hear more ❤❤❤

And we sit here so close in the dark
And we're so close to being torn apart
Ever crash I can feel in our foundation
It runs through my veins and I hate the sensation
But I know that I'm safe here with you
Cause we made it through everything the old and the new
Just wake me up when all this is over
Wake me up and tell me it's not true
My sweet love watch the air raids
As the streets of London are not safe
And I wish that we could escape
As the beat of the drum keeps on its play
And I long to feel the rain on my face
So I wait, I want the bombs to fade away
And the hum of the airplanes is such a sweet sound
As we're coming up from underground
Coming up to see our ruined state
Coming up to see those ruins you made
And in the east I hear a nation shout
And we wait for the day that we can sing it out
My sweet love watch the air raids
As the streets of London are not safe
And I wish that we could escape
As the beat of the drum keeps on its play
And I long to feel the rain on my face
So I wait, I want the bombs to fade away
