That was a good topic ❤ you have a beautiful home as well. Motivated me to get up and clean. I pray your goddaughter has an amazing time in college and stays safe.
Hey Amber! I would say if the Lord convicted you about it then go with it! Recently my husband came home feeling led to go plant based, it was the best decision ever and Im enjoying this season! We aren’t pushing plant based on anyone else just being obedient based as led by the Lord.
I couldn't agree more with you! My pastor gave me a better understanding of the passage, but I'm going to continue praying about what I should do. For over a decade now, I've felt unsettled about the consumption of meat. Sometimes I just feel like I need to follow a pescatarian diet. But just like your husband, maybe God wants me to change my diet too!
God states that cud-chewing animals with split hooves can be eaten (Leviticus 11:3; Deuteronomy 14:6). These specifically include the cattle, sheep, goat, deer and gazelle families (Deuteronomy 14:4-5). He also lists such animals as camels, rabbits and pigs as being unclean, or unfit to eat (Leviticus 11:4-8)In the Amplified Bible (AMP), Genesis 1:29-30 reads, "So God said, 'Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of the entire earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; and to all the animals on the earth and to every bird of the air and to everything that moves on the ground-to everything in which there is the breath of life-I have given every green plant for food'; and it was so [because He commanded it]". A lot of Christians don't realize that there is a health message in the Bible that GOD instructs us to adhere to. But there are clean animals GOD says we can consume for food, and there are unclean animals GOD says we are not to consume for food. Because of what they eat and how they digest their food, etc. Both clean and unclean. Because what is digested enters into the bloodstream and skin. As well as herbs, fruit, and vegetables he said is good for food. A lot of People/Christians are switching over to different variations of vegetarianism, veganism, or raw plant based diets because of the health benefits and meat production. Which includes the overall care of the animal, what they are fed, and how they slaughter the animal (facilities). Or they are going organic. Because of the same, how they raise, feed, and production thereof. The same with vegetables, herbs and fruit. Pesticides, etc., even the soaps and skin care products. I'm not sure about the blood, the meaning of, but there are Jewish cultures that remove the veins from the meat like chicken. And you know how we like to chew on that bone, 😂 I would have to study as well. Or you can just research the meaning of the text online or in a Bible Concordance. If the LORD is convicting to a plant based diet, then...Pray and do your research. You can also gain wisdom from other's who have made that transition on UA-cam, from a Christian perspective. You still have to be mindful that if you do switch over, you have to replace your meat proteins for suitable vegetable proteins, etc. While still incorporating the other food groups for a balanced diet. We forget that we eat for nutrition. And each food group has different nutritional needs. Fruits, herb and vegetables included. And certain food groups also hold different healing properties. You can use food for medicinal purposes. This is not to say that you should stop taking medications prescribed. But over time can decrease usage. So make sure you do your research and understand your personal nutritional needs and/or what you are trying to achieve overall, which you can better understand through a nutritionist who in this particular field, and can help you to navigate your needs, including any medical conditions. (Which could be one of the reason GOD is bringing it to your attention) And why people switch over as well, for medical reasons. To incorporate a diet that will bring health, healing and healthfulness. Keep up with the information you receive at doctor exams. So you add or remove anything from your diet that is not beneficial. This is long, sis, I'm sorry but I hope this helps. 😂❤
Wow!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge and input with me. That was so kind of you to do! I wound up discussing this with my pastor and he helped me to understand the passage a bit better. I still feel convicted about my current diet though. I keep sensing that I need to increase my fruit and vegetable intake and eat less meat. I've felt that way for years now if I'm being honest. My body actually doesn't crave meat at all. I eat it because it looks and smells good. I've given up meat twice in the past (for brief periods of time), and I felt better and had more energy. I'm going to continue praying and processing what the Lord wants me to do. But thanks again for taking time out of your day to share all that you did. It means a lot. I hope others benefit from your words as well!
Child I feel you on tryna get the house in order my God
