A very good video ----- well done. You have a good style. This presentation is well organized. The differences are overblown in many instances. Your video demonstrates how close they are. The differences among good preamps is not very much, with the exception of those preamps that are intentionally very colored, which I generally do not use. I use an Audient iD44 Mk II, Audient 4816SE console, Avalon Design 737's/V55's, Neumann 402's, SSL Big Six and a few others. I generally like to track/record clean and then add color as wanted using SSL Fusion, SSL Bus+, SSL UC1/Channel Strip 2 and Channel Strip 4k B, and Avalon Design 737, 747.
hey bro , since you own them may i ask your opinion on sth . i work itb and im really into big six . would it improve my sound if i get one ? are the channel strips and g comp sound better than plugin versions. thanks a lot
@@Drumbaseuk That's the thing I have noticed. You could give me a 2000 dollar preamp and a 50 dollar one and I can barely hear the difference. But when stacking recordings I did notice my upgrade from a cheap interface to a better one.
@@annekedebruyn7797 yeah you are absolutely right. The tests I see don’t stack the tracks, just do one and it is hard to hear. It's like the cable debate. Record 25 tracks through each and you may hear a difference, but I haven’t seen any that do that test. Hmmm maybe a video there. lol
Maybe I need more practice listening but I felt like the O1v was better than the Big Six. The Big six had more headroom but leaned more heavily into the higher frequencies. Not in a good way imo.
thx for all man💪

I've just started recording through the fusion by inserting it on the main bus. It works so well on my acoustic drums. Love it.

Sound is not going to improve but workflow is fun. SSL Plugins sound just as good.@@bogackvrak2073
Nice❤
The type of review we want all the time!!!
Thanks. I have another similar one coming soon......
Amazing video, thank you!!
Was listening through Neumann ND 20 love the SSL the Best but I just ordered the Big Six❤
Great video. I couldn’t tell much difference in sound and I was listening through a good pair of headphones.
If you listen a couple of times you can start to hear a bit of difference. It all adds up I guess.

just curious sample rate is tiny bit different - as you mentioned

I don’t know…. I listened again and in some places the Big Six was definitely better than the 01v.
Next time better use the thrre-way splitter so it can be the same take and the same feel
You get exactly what you pay for.
