In 2023, actress Jessica Lange announced her decision to retire from acting after an illustrious career spanning over four decades.The 75-year-old acting legend first gained fame in the 1976 remake of King Kong, which earned her a Golden Globe award despite the film receiving mixed reviews.
Jessica has won two Academy Awards for Best Actress, for 1982's Tootsie and 1994's Blue Sky, along with five Golden Globe awards.
Originally from Cloquet, Minnesota, she now resides in Greenwich Village, New York City, where she enjoys spending time with her three children and two grandchildren.
In 2018, Jessica paid $3.3 million for a two-bed, two-bath tenth-floor apartment in 1 Fifth Avenue but she’s already owned an apartment in the building since 2005. She and her former partner, the late playwright Sam Shepard, purchased a three-bedroom apartment for $3.4 million in 2005. After their split in 2009, Lange bought Shepard's share of the space for $1.64 million in 2013, and she has retained ownership ever since.
Lange's prewar apartment is located directly above her other longtime residence, though it is somewhat smaller. According to listing materials at the time, it featured a "hexagonal" entry foyer and sitting room, as well as a formal dining room and living room.
