Sanji is a favorite to many fans for a reason. He is never be a bored character, he is hilarious, cool, but himself hidden with many thoughts that never be surfaced. Every time of reread you will find some new retrospect that make sense to his character or his doing, or even more weight for some scenes. It is a fun journey. I love all Strawhats but Sanji is definitely having special place in my heart.
@@Zistheone2 I would consider it a gag, not an impressive one, of course, but still a gag. If you don't like a character, you would always overlook his virtues and exaggerate his shortcomings. I don't mind if you don't appreciate this character, and what I say may not be for you.
Sanji is one hell of a misunderstood character in the general OP community. He is a nuanced character you have to read between the lines to get him fully. Sometimes that requires a reread. After rereading whole cake island twice recently and seeing the baratie arc on TV several times he became my second favourite character again. Go past the perverted jokes, past the white knight attidude and him constantly being potrayed under Luffy and Zoro when it comes to strentgh you will see a character so beautifully written. Some argue that he is the most well written character of the show and i wouldnt disagree. Cant wait to see more!!
I was thinking about Sanji foreshadowing for a moment in wano. His body was always way more durable than normal. His fight in Arlong Park has his opponent (I forget his name) even pointing out the abnormal durability of Sanji. Sanji was not a battle hardened warrior. He never was a “fighter”. This isn’t just because he is one of the strongest strawhats. We have seen Zoro struggle with his injuries. Injuries that would affect Zoro across arcs and persist. Sanji hasn’t received any lasting injuries or damage from any of his fights to my knowledge and the fact he could light his leg on fire without burn marks is also more evidence. I doubt Oda was planning to have Germa 66 all the way back in Arlong Park, but I believe he had planned for Sanji to have a unique heritage/genes. Whether it was going to be genetic manipulation/the Germa stuff, I don’t know.
Judge also works as a parallel to don krieg. 2 golden armor clad spear wielders that focus on technology. Oda might have planned this from the start. Given all the prince hints in alabasta and long ring long land.
man, about germa 66, when the strawhats go up on the red line, zoro tells that he never saw a boat climbing a mountain, and sanji telling that's hes already saw something like that. and in wholo cake arc you can see the germa caracol boats climbing the same red line.
I’m surprised you never mentioned any of the similarities between don kreig and sanjis father judge. They are both spear wielding warriors in golden armor. Don kreig was famed for his use of technology and gadgets to empower his crew. Germa is a kingdom feared for its technological advancements. He’s almost a perfect parallel.
Very solid character analysis! I like how you compare and contrast the characters, which you do so well and quite succinctly I might add. It made for an excellent video. Well done!
1:18 Honestly, we the signs that he was hiding something deeper was always there. Notice how just extremely sentimental he had gotten throughout the concept of protecting other's, and friendship, despite him being goofy and nonchalant most of the time. Notice how serious he had started getting when Robin had kept on drifting away back in Water 7, I thought Sanji was more serious than Zoro when he really got serious. I remember seeing a comment that said when he looked at a picture of a girl, maybe he thought of his mother, which is why he didn't get flirty when looking at a picture of one.
what do you mean Luffy is selfish? Why is he selfish? how is he selfish? does he need to be selfish? is this selfishness good for someone with a good heart like Luffy? Pls explain
I think you're a bit confused. I did explain 3:35. I then go onto explain how this is a net benefit for Luffy. Same with Zoro and Sanji's individual quirks.
@@HotBoySpicy In a sense Luffy is very selfish right up from the start. It's both a good and a bad thing in the story, where the good outweighs the bad. Luffy doesn't want to be a good grandson to Garp and join the Navy, so he acts selfishly to become a pirate like Shanks. He always makes decisions as the ship captain that ultimately end well but risk the lives of his crewmates tenfold when there could've been easier ways to resolve things - and usually he makes these calls on a whim without thinking because he just wants to get himself into chaos.
Interpretation is an art. Guessing a "precise" interpretation (relative to an insuficient or an excellent) is a feat only done relative to a prejudice. An excellent health is only an "excess" in either relative rethoric or an operationalized measure of suficiencies. Empathic imagination is likable, indeed.

If only he wasn't an obsessive pervert

Yeah if you think about it even when he hurt his shin in the fight against Vergo he had no major issues fighting afterwards

I believe there is a color page back in syrup village that showed sanji holding a suitcase that had a big 66 on it

please continue the sanji series, these videos have so much potential, are very high quality and philosophical. You've also got a golden voice!
Appreciate the kind words! Yes, another sanji video is coming soon in the list of Wano videos I'm currently working on.

I expected a 1 hour video essay, but this is better.

This was beautiful. I always get tired of seeing people shit on Sanji. So this was a much needed video.
High quality content, always come back to this channel when I want some good food for thought

when does Baratie say that Sanji is gonna fight a brachiosaurus??? smh ....
Sanji got done dirty because everyone just tunnels on his behavior on women
Sanj is a cool well written interesting character and Zoro has been static awhile after the timeskip he needs charactization on the level of sanji
I think I see where you're going and I love it.
In Punk Hazard Nami said Sanji's body is very durable, so it was forshadowed he wasn't a normal human.
Amazing as always

@@HotBoySpicy I guess your right. I was just a bit shocked as I have never thought about Luffy in this way before. Outstanding video man!

First
The raids going to fail
@@hhhfdsfs it’s fail
Zkk ftw!!!!
I like how most of this is just a one piece fan over interpreting
Can you be more precise and say what exactly is over-interpreting?
he just over elaborated
