Really liking this direction. Sometimes it feels like it's a bit quick and stuff, but I'm loving this "everything is political" stuff and the racial issues. It's never gonna be perfect but it's pretty good at it I think. Also, nice at saying "for some this isn't political, it's just life". That's very true and very painful for myself.
it terms of taking the blame for what happened to sean and daniel's dad, i think everyone involved had some blame to take. i choice to take the blame just because of how it makes you look in front of brody. it's easy to put the blame on someone else but it's hard to take the blame and ive always thought taking the blame showed a sign of maturity even if we're only a little responsible for something bad happening.
i hate that they confirmed arcadia bay is wiped out...i was hoping there would be survivors and they would rebuild the town

this game is too real and i appreciate dontnod's sentiment, but i have to ask: who was this game was made for? im not latino or black and dont really live every day in fear of getting shot by police, but im guessing poc who do have a history with police brutality/live in fear dont really care for a depressing ass sensationalized story about police brutality and racism if they live that shit every day? especially one that's written by a bunch of white dudes? i just... don't really understand, and im honestly really tired of sensationalized stories profiting off of minority tragedy. but i truly hope theyre able to pull this off (and maybe give us a happy ending for these two brothers). i just want daniel and sean to be ok lol. :( i guess it IS refreshing to see a video game that talks about this, though.

When it comes to the situation withe cop and the dad look at it like this. The bully had fake blood on him remember. The cop couldn't have known so he was freaking out a bit with a seemingly dead kid with no idea what happened. And then the dad showed up and kept walking towards the cop who had a gun pointed at him and kept saying to stop what he was doing. Im not saying the cop made the right move, and i wont call him rascit either beace the same thing could happen if everyone was white. I just think when stuff like this happens we breath and think logically because we only see from one pov we, and when we see from one way it easy to pant the other side as the "enemy "

Maybe that’s why he stopped at Arcadia Bay rather than stopping at some other resting place. He just wanted to see the place where a big chunk of his family died.

k3rr4 rom3us but they are obviously setting up a super power universe why else would you introduce a new power in this if it wasnt in the future going to all connect, theres gotta be a time that we are going to find out how these people got their powers, and even if people chose the bay over bae we would still end up seeing max without chloe regardless, i think a nice nod now and again will be nice but if they are going to join the characters together eventually to do it a few games from now after introducing more people, cause i doubt they will just say hey new powers and then leave it ..

it feels more like its going to be an anthology series with the only connection being that brief cameo of the bay

I didn't sacrifice Arcadia Bay for the first game so I chose it at the start of the game. And in game, IT SHOWED ARCADIA BAY WITH THE LIGHTHOUSE AND THE TOWN WAS ALIVE.
I played the original game both ways. For LiS2 I chose at the start that I had sacrificed Arcadia Bay, but it was perfectly normal when we got there. Light below, I thought maybe is was supposed to be construction or something. But in this LP it is totally different, with different dialogue. I think ours was just bugged.
Puerto Lobos means "Wolf(s) Port" and it is a real place in case you guys didn't know~

You can see Arcadia Bay still intact with the Lighthouse and everything still functioning in other gameplays
I love camping and hiking but these are some reasons it really scares me to go do it much anymore, I really like Brody. Also people wont get that to them this may be political but to people like me and others this IS life. Glad you said that. Man Seaaan I'm dead sad

You would think after three years (from the date of the Arcadia Bay storm until this visit) the Coast Guard would have at least re-built the lighthouse. That kinda serves an important purpose. Those aren't just decorative.

It's nice of LIS to introduce an adult male non-playable character who isn't in someway creepy or an asshole... or dead. Only other positive male role models in the LIS universe who aren't minor characters are William, Samuel (debatably creepy), and Esteban... Brody is refreshing after so many abusive/stalkerish/sexist/alcoholic/drug dealing/literal murderous guys. As a male player, I appreciate it.

I must say, Daniel is ex-tremely chill about this entire situation. When I was nine, there was noooooo way you could pull this wool over my eyes. Not only would I know something was wrong cause my parent would never let my brother handle me unsupervised overnight across the damn state without basic survival amenities, but after one half-day I'd demand to see home and would not cease until I was given good reason for abandoning said home. I might have been a kid, but I wasn't that naive. I may have been adventurous, loved going to beaches and rivers and mountain hikes pretending I was Lara Croft on an adventure. But this would be a very alarming situation.
I think the idea is that Daniel is subconsciously in denial. He asks many questions about their situation for a reason, but he also accepts the weak explanation for a reason.
I was a pretty naive kid, TBH. If I had an older sibling then I probably would've put all my trust in them. But I have a little sister who's 8 and I'm not 100% sure how she'd react. I think if she was scared she'd let me handle everything but if she wasn't she'd be bossing me around as usual, haha.
I think Mari was right about them being religious because Daniel specified "promise" instead of "swear" and apologized for saying it. My family and I do the same thing because of a few verses mentioning to not swear.
i didn't go into the bathroom so i bought food and the sleeping bag and shoplifted the water. i was going to pay for it but i was, like, a dollar short since i played the claw machine twice to see if i could get daniel a toy. i didn't get the camping set because i wanted to make sure that asshole didn't have a good excuse for fucking _kidnapping sean._ assaulting a minor for a $5 bottle of water is worse than assaulting him for a $65 camping kit. i kinda regret not taking it but i just thought that, you know, a guy knocked on conciousness and $70 worth of merchandise missing probably isn't great.

I first thought Brody was sketchy af because I bought a loaf of bread and was trying to figure out how to buy the peanut butter right above it. But it wouldn't let me. Eventually I gave up and bought some hot dogs. While making those, Daniel was the one to start a conversation with Brody about "adult stuff" that he was looking at on the computer. I came over to interrupt and he had that naked dude on his laptop and I was totally freaked that he had been talking to the kid about it.
If you had asked me a few years ago I might have considered this all a little heavy handed and on the nose, but honestly compared to some of the ways I've seen people behave firsthand this is *subtle*... It's not that the attitudes are anything new, but boy some of these people were just waiting for an opportunity to let the mask slip.
Seeing Daniel and Sean together makes me think of me and my little sister. I'm 16 and she's 8. I can't even begin to imagine how I'd deal with this situation if it were the two of us. I'm sitting here right now and she's next to me on her iPad... I wonder what she'd think.
