That vikings stat is insane.
It’s even more impressive given that three of their four opponents so far have been San Fran, Houston, and Green Bay (at Lambeau).
And the Commanders. Don't know how sustainable it is, but it's nice to see some parity in the league
It's even weirder when you realize those 3 minutes and 26 seconds were against the Giants
@@creepybantha1665and it only lasted til the Vikings second drive… touchdown and they have been in the lead since.
And that's only because Ham fumbled on the first drive at the own 30, giving the ball to Giants in field goal range
Bo Nix may have only thrown for 60 yards, but he threw more touchdowns in MetLife than Aaron Rogers and Daniel Jones combined in week 4.
New York Football special.
@@coloradoterroir8736 hehehe 😀😃😄😁😆😅😂🤣😭 so true
I'm not bothered at all by the drop in scoring. Defenses had so many rules that made their jobs harder, so it's good to see them figuring out a way to slow down offenses. In a year or two, some OC will figure out a way to counter what defenses are doing and the pendulum will swing back towards more scoring.
*Disclaimer: I was out of the house yesterday and didn't see a single bit of the Jets/Broncos game.
QB play is awful. This isn't a defense is stopping them thing. Will Levi, deshaun Watson, Caleb , brisset, Anthony Richardson, bo nix etc. The QB play has been horrendous. They started drafting athletes and not QBs an it's showing.
you need a mobile quarterback but i agree they have horrible decision making skills coming out of college lol
The last time the Vikings and Chiefs were the best teams in the league. They played in the Super Bowl in Louisiana.
History does repeat itself…..which is why our society is doomed for not acknowledging history.
As a vikings fan I'd be both so happy and so so afraid
That was 1969 and there were still two separate leagues. The AFL - NFL merger happened in 1970.
And got crushed😢
Vikings Revenge tour
I haven't been this happy and hopeful as a Commanders fan for many many years!
Personally, I am glad they are enforcing the procedure.
Yep. Not mad about it either. Not too much.
Must be an HOA enforcer too
Line up correctly! Not that hard! As a high school coach we face a lot of teams that run the power T offense, and their guards get such an advantage when they can be a foot behind the line of scrimmage! Line up correctly! Not that hard!
@RichEisenShow Line up correctly.... easy fix for the teams... Line up correctly instead of trying to cheat and line up deeper for a blocking advantage and the big plays won't be taken off the board.
I honestly disagree I dont think the tackles should be able to cheat the way they apparently were 3:20
That Commanders stat made my jaw drop.
Holy cow, man.
23 scoring drives. 19 incompletions through 4 weeks
They're also one of the two teams that didn't score a touchdown and still win a game, week 2 against the Giants. So they're all #1 and half #2 too, lol.
The Commanders stat is up there at Gretzky levels of ridiculousness.
The stat about the lowest number of points scored after 4 weeks is crazy considering the Commanders alone have scored 121 points in 4 games.
Punted once in 3 games - damn some teams punt 3 times in a half!
My broncos punt 3x a quarter if you give the ball to us enough lol
@@WeThePeople205 The Panthers punt 3 times in one drive!
2:55 I actually disagree with this, even though the illegal formation stuff is boring. But the desire for higher and higher numbers has led to the death of defense lately, and it's nice to move back in that direction (#2). I don't always need to see inflated offenses
Right? How about just follow the rules and you won't get 62 flags.
I was shocked that they started Love. Willis is more of a wildcard guy and more mobile. But I am happy with the result, Skol Vikings 🙏
It's MIND-BLOWING
4 is on the coaches. Get your linemen to line up at the line. Done.
2 is on offenses not taking the preseason seriously. They're waiting until the regular season to get going.
Absolutely.
Its also why a lot of the younger or back up position QBs are looking pretty good. They played/practiced properly in the preseason.
No Rich, you don't get it. Line up like you're supposed to.
You mean like how they have been for the last 10+ years?? Show one website that shows that pass protection is better this year than years past. Would love to see one
GO VIKINGS!!!!!
SKOL!!!
The Indianapolis Colts are true neutral with a 2-2 record and 85/85 points for / against.
The Commanders are not only #1 in this list, they're also half of #2. They kicked seven field goals, a franchise record with a kicker they JUST SIGNED after the opening game, beating the Giants in week 2. Lots of flags on the Commanders in that game, but I don't think any of them were illegal procedure and there have been very few flags since then!
Great lists. Kudos to Cooper.
It's Illegal formation you're talking about not illegal procedure.
Best part about that vikings stat is that time trailing was to the giants week one when they hit the field goal on their opening drive.. havent looked back since. Nuts
If we get a Vikings vs. Bills Super Bowl I hope it ends in a tie
I did the math. There's been 64 games played and 62 illegal procedures called. That's less than 1 per game but some games have 4-5 called. I'm betting that some OFFICIATING CREWS are calling way too many or certain teams are breaking the rule more than most, but that it's not a systemwide problem.
... there have* been 64 games played
And that didn't help the dialogue at all. It just made you feel superior.
I think that Rich needed to be the wheel of fortune person on the side. Amazing host who is fast and sharp
Love the background music 😊
The O-line has an ENORMOUS officiating advantage over their D-line opponents (the uncalled false starts with the left tackles, holding penalties rarely being called)... not too much to ask them to stop pre-forming their passing pockets?
Cooper trying to work for ESPN with the cool but useless stats 🤣🤣🤣 either way, I loved it!
Which other rules should be ignored in favor of "big plays"?
The easiest way to stop having flags for illegal procedures is to line up correctly and not move early. I am tired of seeing the "Michael Jordan" tackles getting a 2 step head start against edge rushers. Sounds like you are willing to accept a team's great play while cheating as the new standard.
100%
Michael Jordan is actually a guard, not a tackle(no really, there is a G named Michael Jordan lol).
You can also be enforcing a rule too much and too strictly. if every holding call got made there would be one on every play
I’m actually happy that for once the Offensive side of the ball is under some scrutiny.
I wouldn’t be surprised if playbooks actually have plays where drawing DPI isn’t the desired outcome.
Punting once in 3 games is an insane stat.
63 illegal procedures in 4 weeks is 64 games... Averages 1 call per game. And you're acting like it's a plague? Bet those numbers just continue to go down as the teams button up to A RULE IN THE NFL. 😂🤦♂️👍
This and the hugging technique.
This is the first year the Saints aren't running Sean Payton's offense sonce he was their coach, the Broncos are running Payton's offense, maybe Payton isn't such an offensive genius.
The Bears really ahould have hired Kingsbury as their OC
The last part is funny because as a Raiders fan, I was thinking how unfortunate it was to play the Harbaugh brothers back to back weeks. Raiders thugged it out though and handled the Ravens. I’m sure that’s come up between them a time or two😅
The Commanders are pretty freaking ridiculous right now
Note to Rich; I LIKE defence !
Through four weeks, Jim Harbaugh is yet to completely close his mouth.
HTTC ✊🏾
I usually hate NFL rules changes and decisions and enforcements. That being said they are getting this right. The offensive lines were getting way too comfortable lining up however they wanted. The offense already gets all the advantages don’t take away the ability to pass rush from the defense too. Im actually stoked they put their foot down on this
#3 at 182 points with 64 games played, thats less than 1 FG for 1 team... Maybe coaches should stop going for it on 4th down in FG range. Ever think about that logical rebuttal?
I think the illegal procedure penalties and the lower scoring are a function of fewer preseason games and less playing time for starters during the preseason. And I'm sure when they move to an 18 game season there will be two bye weeks and only two preseason games and these kind of stats will increase early in the season.
being mad that they decided to start enforcing the rules is certainly something... offense already gets an insane amount of help from the rules, they can deal with having to actually follow them
The new season of ref ball is pretty good so far
The defense is catching up
So we have what, 2-3 weeks before the wheels fall off in Washington? It’s a kingsbury offense so that should be about the turn around time. Be interesting to see if it holds with this team as well.
Sean Payton, super-genius!
SKOL
You bastards deserve this success.
Another crudy stat for GB (sorta). Josh Jacobs now has the most receptions without a TD for a running back crossing over 204 receptions
#1 should just be Jayden Daniels and all of his stats, because so far he himself is the most unbelievable stat
Vikings and Chiefs in the Superbowl!!!!!!
Yup, #4 and #2 are linked.
How hard is it to look to a ref and check that you’re lined up correctly?
You know what else fans love? Sacks. make things fair (accordion to the rules) for pass rushers and have the OL line up on the LOS.
🪗
Damn Rich, your son must have been watching Chris Long‘s podcast recently because they’ve been tracking that Harbaugh win/loss trend 😂
Sammy boy going to wants to collect those jet tears in london and it starting with rich
Commanders fans: Lack of scoring you say?
Love didn’t look right until Vikings went into prevent defense…he shouldn’t have come back yet. I’m a lil shocked he was out there limping around
The coaches should have had him wait. There was no reason to even risk it. Is he your long term player or not? You don’t risk the long term player unnecessarily.
@@CodyLeslie ya he clearly wasn’t ready. Why put him out there when he’s limping, crazy.
Please keep enforcing illegal procedure, loving the defense heavier season
Scoring is down. Since so few players are playing in preseason, it takes 'til now for players to round into form. My Lions are a perfect example. Monday night is the first game they played, that looked like last year.
Geno Smith leading the league in passing yards while having the 31st O-Line?
The illegal procedure rule is not too much. The players inability to follow it is too much lol.
No stats about the year of the kicker?
i thought the #1 would be the jets having their best 4 game start in history! But noooo Jayden this and Jayden that...
Goff stats could would have made this list if his name was Patrick Mahomes. Not that Patrick Mahomes EVER had the passer rating in a game that Goff just had. Still, it would then make the list.
I disagree with #4...We gripe about how all the rule changes favor offenses. Finally get one for defense and we complain about the penalties? Technically this isn't even a rule change, it's enforcement of an existing rule. There's an easy fix here: *Line*men get paid enough money to *line* up where they should. Boom, less penalties.
I have to disagree with the offensive penalties (to an extent). If NFL stars letting the offense do what they want, the league will turn into the NBA.
For #4, why don't they make refs fix it before the ball is snapped? Whistle the play prior to snap and make them line up properly. Simple as that.
The lines will figure it out eventually.
Keep throwing the formation flags till these guys that make millions line up correctly
Denver may have sucked...but they still beat the Jets....LOL>
Refs have more control over the game than ever…I’m sure it’s just a coincidence the league is pushing sports betting so much
What a coincidence low scoring while online betting is in its what 3rd yr of solid betting apps
Mahomes 12-0 when down by 10 points beats all of this
How many flags involved. Id bet 11/12
Flags are from Less Practice
Les practice more Flags
This just in, Rich Eisen, famed TV host, and household Icon for the NFL, plagiarizes children for his content. :) Kidding I love that Coop is engaged with something his parents can share with him.
There was a 6 year period when the Pats were in their hay day, that Belichick won a championship, then his friend Nick won one at Alabama, then Bill the next year, and then Nick . . . and so
2024 scoring in review:
Excessive penalties called
Bad QB play
Abundance of injuries to star players
Speaking of Bill, he used to say that September was the pre-season.
what about the Dolphins didnt have a lead in a single game/minute this season so far. 240 minutes and still behind.
Maybe they should line up correctly?
Josh Allen “The turn over machine” has 0 picks in 4 games. 🤷♂️
“High Five
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Rich’s Top 5!”
Mahomes has winning record if a team goes up by double digits on him.
It's almost like the millionaires are not goof at football
Refs are out of control. BS Offensive PI call in 4th qtr of Lions v Seahawks ruined a great game.
Nix didn't risk anything no sacks no turn overs his job right now broncos d is legit baker looked good this week hummm
Fewest points since 2010 - because of illegal procedures - lol.
Pretty wonky season thus far.....let's see how them hawks do tonight!
Rich doesn't like good football I guess
Over Reaction?
I thinks it's later in the day. I'm waiting for Brockman gonna day Willis over love 100% lol
On a Tuesday!
The illegal formation calls are needed and it's a step in the right direction.
🤯
This how the game gets deluted... NBA guys get six steps to the basket... Look at old NFL footage, they're lined up on the line, go figure 🤔
Ya but jim is losing bc of injuries
Really? Come on. The reason why these teams are playing well is the same as every year….its all new! Defensive coordinators will figure it out just like every year. This is so dumb. it’s almost embarrassing to watch as none of you played football at any level other than HS.
Please get rid of that over-loud “Top Five” earbud-shattering, production value intro nonsense. Cmon Rich. 😣
Agreed, that about blew my damn ears out since I had my volume cranked up to hear what Rich was saying just before the intro. Had to crank it back up afterward too, what's with the bad sound mixing on such a big show??
Jordan Love is massively overhyped. He'll be a backup within two years.
And they both lost to KC.
I’m so fucking sick of every cool play getting called back by a flag. Most games this season have been borderline unwatchable due to flags. Tone these refs down it’s INSANE
First!!!
