Mikey, thank you for pointing out where you messed up stitches, because I, too, messed up stitches. Your tutorial is great because it shows me how to keep going without frogging, because I'm not about to do all of that. I already made my 24 snowflakes, it is what it is. Great job, love your tutorials.
I fell in love with this blanket and knew I had to make it. I started it yesterday and have 3 hexagons done so far. I love it and have been making it in coral ombre and white. I love the way it's turning out. Thanks so much Mikey. I know I will be making many more of your afghans. Your the best.
Thank you for the pattern. I love patterns like this one. What's wonderful about them, is you can make them as large as you want just by adding more motifs.
Hi Mickey, thank for this free pattern.snowflakes beautifull. first thing tomorrow I'm gonna buy royal blue and offwhite yarn.great color combo for my Israeli flag inspired snowflake afghan.thanks for the inspiration.
You had me at ‘a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do’ lol. When I first started crochet I struggled a lot and barely finished everything. I thought every stitch had to be perfect. I didn’t start finishing projects until I let go of that and figured out how to work with the mistakes. Occasionally have to pull it out but not as often :) awesome video, I’m going to make a snowflake blanky next!
I love this beautiful Scandinavian design--partly due to my Norwegian roots, I guess. :) The video tutorial is very well done, even with a sense of humor, and the written instructions make it all that much easier to stitch. The pattern is very intuitive, thoughtful, and easy to follow along. My only suggestion is that crocheters count stitches to make everything come out just right, otherwise knowing how to fake it is the next best thing. Thank you very much for this pattern and tutorial.
Thank you Mikey! All done in red and white! However, I did 72 snowflakes and assembled them in a more "square" configuration! It's absolutely spectacular!
Hi mickey just finished your scandanivian afghan. Thank u so much for ALL your wonderful tutorials you my def go to for some gorgeous projects. Have made so many of them. Your 1 talented guy. Keep it up and we'll done. Biggest thank u too. Carol x Northern Ireland.
I'm absolutely loving this pattern! Just started it on boxing day and already done all the white snowflakes and I'm onto the red! Thank you o much for this tutorial!!! Its absolutely fantastic x x
A thing I do with motifs that don't have any raised texture is I leave those center ring tails on until I join so I can easily see what is the wring side. I love this pattern and am making another one for a friend. Thank you!
Hi Mikey, Thank you for your wonderful videos. I did the Meringue Fluff baby afghan. I had to really concentrate, but it came out beautiful. A long time ago I saw a Snowflake afghan on the back of a couch on 'The Big Bang Theory'. This looks so much like it. I have been looking for one to do and I think this will fit the bill. Again,... Thank you so much!
Thank you ever so much Mikey! I love this beautiful design I can not wait to hit joann tomorrow to pick up blue and white.... your such an amazing soul! Thank you for you for all you do♡♡♡♡♡
i just love the way you explained the snowflake pattern and this one too. your Instructions were so helpful. About doing all the white first and then the red next. The written directions don’t say that and I found a little confusing.I will be following you to see what other projects you will be reporting on. Thank you so much
I will be happy when I can crochet as fast as you Mikey, having now finished one snowflake it is looking good, still the edging to do yet but really enjoying this tutorial, many thanks for sharing.
Beautiful throw! I found the attachment of the squares to be difficult. I wish you would have gone into a bit more detail. Also, it would be nice if the changes in the video were updated in the pattern. I love your designs Mikey you are very talented!
I'm working on this right now and it's turning out great! Thanks for the awesome pattern! I did notice that when doing the first and second red rows when starting it off it said to chain and then also do the 3 single crochet. I tried doing it with only doing 2 single crochet in the first loop since I already did the one chain and the problem of too many stitches isn't happening anymore. I hope this helps!
Ok Mickey, tell us how to overcome the problem of a border being out of sync, i.e.: the border that has the chain 4, when we come to wrap and chain 1, when the border is slightly out and you have ' faked ' it. I was going well with all this till one of my borders was not long enough ! Best part of this is crocheting the snowflake ---- for me anyway. Best wishes for the New Year x
I think that extra stitch when adding the red border comes from putting two right next to eachother, maybe chaining 4 stitches (instead of 3) and SC in every third stitch (instead of every second) and omitting the two single crochets in the middle would fix it, ..
Hello Mikey, just completed this lovely blanket, I need to know how you managed to get it to lay so flat for the photograph, a lot of blocking out perhaps?
I plan to make this afghan but I'm wonder how you might advise changing up the design at 16:54, so there isn't such a large hole. Would a double crochet cross stitch work in the previous row of white? If I do that, would I need to do two together triple crochet with a 3 chain picot in the middle, when I do the first row of red?
Honestly, I think you should try your method and see if that works for you. Improvise the pattern a bit to solve what is bothering you about the pattern. Seems like you have some ideas to try, so go with your gut. That's what I would do.
Mikey this is so beautiful! I am thinking of doing this in Big Twist yarn in sapphire and white. Would it be okay if I entered the finished afghan in my local summer fair here in Alaska? If so, how would you like me to attribute you as the designer?

I’m confused. In your video, you show the first row of finishing (after joining all the motifs) as DCs. But the written pattern at the link below says “ch 1. 2 sc in same so as sl st. Work 2 sc in each ch-2 so around”...etc. so I’m confused. Which is it?
My two cents: Don't crochet tightly otherwise those single crochet bits will kill you on the next round. Also I don't like the assembly line business. If you make a mistake on the white part for 26 pieces you'll be in hell. take time to complete them all one by one so you know each one is correct and you don't have to go over it again.

I spent a full week and a bunch of many on yarn just to reach a point of not knowing how to put this together! Why would you go through the whole tutorial and not show how it is sewn together? I will never try another pattern of yours.

I just finished mine and absolutely love it. I made mine in blue and white with silver sparkles. Thank you Mikey!! ❤
This is such a lovely snowflake pattern. Really beautiful.

Not one is perfect and perfection is overrated. It's better to show making a mistake and how to fix it then pretend it doesn't happen.
beautiful love your sense of humor
I love this pattern so much ! I'm doing dark blue with sparkle and Aran , it is looking beautiful ! Thank you thank you thank you 😊
Hi, could you please show how it turned out!
I love the idea of sparkle yarn. I can totally envision that!!
I’m doing this pattern for m Tree skirting for our family tree thanks so much Mikie!

Thank you Mikey! All done in red and white! However, I did 72 snowflakes and assembled them in a more "square" configuration! It's absolutely spectacular!
What size of Afghan did the 72 snowflakes make? (I’m new to crocheting)

Beautiful!!!! Thank you for share !! Beautiful scissors ✂️
I see this is one from a few years ago. I’m just stumbling across it. Love it. Thank you!
Yes, I did this sample on a cruise ship during my holidays one year.
A thing I do with motifs that don't have any raised texture is I leave those center ring tails on until I join so I can easily see what is the wring side. I love this pattern and am making another one for a friend. Thank you!
I leave the center tail out so the wrong side is easy to see. Then I hide them at the end.
Your blanket patterns are very lovely and beautiful . Thank u Mr. Mikey.
Lovely pattern, Mikey. Thanks for sharing. Your instructions are always so clear and easy. Can't wait to do this one!
I really need to see you add 3rd & 4th snowflake
Very pretty. Looks fun to make.
thanks nice simple design and explained very nicely
Thanks for the compliment.
Wonderful job explaining the pattern! I appreciate your clear instructions and sense of humor! Thank you, and keep up the good work!!!!
I made this using white, light blue and teal. It came out beautifully.
Love this thank you!

Oh I forgot about those scissors.
I have just finished this , it’s turned out amazing love it , thank you !!
Thank you Mickey, for the awesome way you teach this lovely project. I am new to crochet of this magnitude, but you make it seem doable.
Currently making this with a white sparkle DK wool and red. It works up really quickly.
I used redheart super saver in white for snowflakes and Macau for color b. Looks awesome. Love this afghan thank you mikey you are fabulous.
Beautiful and looks easy to make it. You are good teacher. Regards from South Africa :)
Hermoso proyecto. Gracias por compartirlo. Saludos cariñosos desde Chihuahua Mexico.

Hi I was wondering how many motifs we need to make in order to make the Afghan, as well as how much yarn that would be
I use Google its and 8 x15 for a throw
I made 15 that’s not enough heads up
CaN this be made with double knit wool 100 gram balls or would it turn out smaller
@@emma-victoria933 8x15 rows. It’s 88 squares or diamonds. 225 for a king size
If you click the link in the description box on the video, it says how big each one is, how many you need to make, and how much yarn you need.
Absolutely love the pattern and the instructions are wonderful! Thank You! Is there a matching pillow for this pattern??
I'm sorry, I didn't design one.
@@TheCrochetCrowd I sure wish you had-but guess we can’t get it all! 😀
What a pair of snazzy scissors!
Thank you. I am looking for how to do a half motive of this . ❤️❤️❤️❤️🕸️🕸️
I think I'm going to do this in a cornflower blue and a navy or denim blue. Or a deep blue and an off white.
Sounds like a nice colour option.
j'adore le crochet
Is there a left handed version of this? I cannot figure out how to join it watching this one!!
Is there a way to from the snowflake into a square frame? I'm making a blanket of 10x10 squares. And I love your pattern.
And how big the end result was thank you
Ok Mickey, tell us how to overcome the problem of a border being out of sync, i.e.: the border that has the chain 4, when we come to wrap and chain 1, when the border is slightly out and you have ' faked ' it.

Hi i have the same problem did u figure it out at all please ty xx
Love the pattern wish you would use a darker background so it shows up better thanks
I think that extra stitch when adding the red border comes from putting two right next to eachother, maybe chaining 4 stitches (instead of 3) and SC in every third stitch (instead of every second) and omitting the two single crochets in the middle would fix it, ..
Any suggestions on a half hexagon to make this a square finish? Really love this pattern and almost done.
Yes, just divide the hexagon in half and stay on the front side of the work. So start and stop the rows on the right side.
Hello Mikey, just completed this lovely blanket, I need to know how you managed to get it to lay so flat for the photograph, a lot of blocking out perhaps?
Hello could you tell me please how much wool you used to make this throw thankyou
Is there anyway possible, to make this into a half-hexagon? Thinking of making this into a babyblanket, but need to fill in the edges... Please help..
Meu deus um mai lindo do que o outro
Mine did the same...one extra stitch on 2 sides 😂
I really wish I could do this and the peppermint but I’m left handed and it’s hard following a right handed tutorial
Can you please add captions to this video since I would love to know what you're saying. The blanket looks great though! Thanks!

Jo just use an ordinary DK yarn.
Mikey this is so beautiful! I am thinking of doing this in Big Twist yarn in sapphire and white. Would it be okay if I entered the finished afghan in my local summer fair here in Alaska? If so, how would you like me to attribute you as the designer?
You don't have to give us credit but you can enter anything into the fair. :) Hope you get a ribbon.

see video description. Link to free pattern is there.
Curious! How many motifs needed for this project? Thank you!

how can I make 1/2 square to finish the afghan?
A new design would need to be made.I don't have the information as I didn't design it that way. I'm sorry.
for a full size afghan, how much yarn would be required if made in two colours? probably in oz.?
There is a link in the description to the pattern, that information is included there
I absolutely love! Quick question. I bought a 5.5 crochet needle. would I be able to use it on this project?
Yes I did my with a 5mm and it working out good
i cannot get the written instrutions for this patter, i get an error, help!
I’m confused. In your video, you show the first row of finishing (after joining all the motifs) as DCs. But the written pattern at the link below says “ch 1. 2 sc in same so as sl st. Work 2 sc in each ch-2 so around”...etc. so I’m confused. Which is it?
Just go by the pattern. Sounds to me I goofed up. The patterns are always the rule to follow when there is a discrepancy.
I like the Afghan, I need to know what number yarn you used for this?
Medium Weight, (4) Worsted Yarn
My two cents: Don't crochet tightly otherwise those single crochet bits will kill you on the next round. Also I don't like the assembly line business.
