Put Z9 motor in mine with an 18 thou headgasket. Z9 motor has a 13 tooth 1st input shaft, RS has 12 tooth. Running 15/44, 180/60 rear. Rpm limit 11200. Stock RS max speed in 1st gear is 86kmh, my hybrid is 116kmh in 1st. I had to put the webike under triples yss steering damper on mine, bit of a beast to ride before that. I have gone all in on susp and brakes. A perfect sleeper now. Just the way I like it.
I have the same bike my dad just picked up the SE yellow, both coming from cruisers and dirt bikes. I find myself trying to start off in second gear. I find myself cruising in six gear pretty often. Interesting video I’m gonna think about different sprockets now very interesting. Thanks.
There is a significant gap between the 5th and 6th. For cruising on level ground this is fine. Even mild up hills. If you find yourself over 120 mph frequently, maybe a Yamaha MT-10 is more your speed.
Does this bike have ride modes? I tested one but I cannot remember. This helped greatly in my Ducati SS. Ride modes changed up the gearing on the trans just a bit. So the sprocket change did help. It is a beautiful machine! 👊
@@desmondbaker8716 that problem, along with a couple of other complaints that I have about this bike have really starting to make me look at other motorcycles. More on that in an upcoming video
I have the 2018 ive reflashed the ECU and did the 16t sprocket and a full exhaust. The bike is still twitchy and just not enjoyable to ride. I want to like it but i just can't do it. I bought the rs to accompany my 76, kz900 and 78 k1000. Looks wise yes they are cool but riding is absolutely nothing like the originals. Another big fault is the rs is too tall. Im 6.7 and its just too tall and feels unstable to me. Again cool bike to look at but i just absolutely disdain riding it
Oh come on. I have a '22 blue Z900RS and had a diamond sky blue kz1000. Everything about the new Z is superior. My ecu is stock and the throttle isn't twitchy. It's a joy to ride even on a 2500 mile trip to the Sierras last year. The new one will blow away the old and outstop it for sure. Gets lots of compliments. Love it.
@FrankBonessa I have a 2023 RS Cafe identical to the one in this video and I love it. But in defense of @MrCamarokid83 his is a 2018 which were known to have particularly snatchy throttles. This issue was later fixed with the 2019+ models I believe but his bike is affected with that issue which might affect the riding experience

I want this bike. It looks so awesome.

@@Skidz75 this one has three different settings for traction control, 0, 1 and 2. You can think of them as track Sport and rain
100% my thoughts on the gearing. Glad it's not just me.

@@eggchucker666 Any reputable company flash will delete the on/off jerkiness. My 2018 is perfect.
@davidevelyn530 oh ok, I knew the 2018s has the jerkiness issue but I wasn't quite sure what caused it.
