Can't stand the Spurs fans who want Ange out already they really are clueless about football lol.. Took Klopp 4+ years to get Liverpool purring and Arteta almost 5 years. Give the man time jeez. FYI Spurs have some real gems coming through the academy and on loan.

@@Gggg-cq1ih The reality for Tottenham right now is that the first half of the last three games are at our team's current level. In the second half of those games, the opposing teams played loosely and we scored. If the opposing teams had played like the first half, it would have been a disaster. Big picture? If he is not sacked and starts next season, I don't think he will be able to make it past September anyway.
Those managers weren’t getting battered week in week out and making the same mistakes. However, in Ange’s defense Spurs don’t have huge budgets so why they keep employing managers that need exact ready made players to fit their rigid system is beyond me because it means a total rebuild every time with no budget. Buy some players, get half the desired result, lose games when players can see system doesn’t work and they down tools which has happened under the last 3 managers, sack manager and rinse and repeat. Surely a manager who can be flexible to make the system fit the tools he has available is a better fix. Howe for instance has worked magic with very little at times. Emery same, came in inherited a lot of players and adapted to get the system to fit what he has. Ange won’t and therefore his tenure is doomed to fail from the start because Spurs won’t shift the 13 players they need to and they won’t buy the 13 players needed to make the system work. Nor will the fans wait 5 years to build it. Levy missed the boat and now with FFP and the stadium and lack of CL football there isn’t the budget required for the big rebuild and there never will be.

Would be interesting with Maddison. Would remind me of the Dele, Erikson, Son, Kane forward group that utilized 2 CAMs. City and Arsenal play that way a lot so emulating them isn't a bad idea.

Re your point re Bissouma, the issue is hes only good a dribbling and turning, which was perfect when teams were pressing us as Bissouma would break the press and then we'd be through, but teams have worked out not to press him anymore and just go into a low block. So bissouma works against teams that press but we need a better passer at dm for teams that sit deep
Yes, the Ange system has been sussed by many coaches, so Ange will need to tweak it !
@TooDarnSoulful essentially need to play a good passing 6 when teams play a low block, and Biss when we play teams that come onto us. Likewise werner and Johnson work against teams with high line, but are poor against low block due to their poor technical ability.

My favorite spurs pundit doesn’t even support spurs but she speaks facts through good and bad and has no bias to do so. Should be on tv would mean I’d prob never see your commentary but you deserve it!

Thank you for saying what I have been saying about Spurs for some time, that is we need to sign more intelligent players. Players who play with their heads up and are constantly scanning for space and runs from team mates to play a high tempo game. From what I've seen of Bergvall he is that type of player but he will need team mates willing to make the space and runs he needs. Far too often this season Spurs players have been too static which makes them easier to play and defend against. Also agree that Sesko and Nico Williams and Stiller would make great additions.

The problem is getting 12 players off the books while other clubs are trying to do the same thing. Ffp finally has teeth and clubs now would want reduce debt by selling players.

I feel to get the whole squad playing the tune, we need a strong spine, which at the start of the season we all thought we had, but as the season has unfolded, we have lost our backbone and this just cant happen at the level we want to play at, especially when we play in Europe again too. I think we need at a minimum a versitile full back to cover left and right. a 6 for sure, an 8/10 we have plenty of talent coming though in that position so i dont think we should spend there. We definately need a striker and a right winger So 4 key players for me this summer.
Thank you for pulling all the transfer info together. You have presented a pretty comprehensive overview however i) This is us. We tend to spend about 50-80m plus whatever we make from sales. So Id be surprised if we get near enough the players we need to replace. ii) You and others have said most teams are not in a good economic position so were limited to European leagues or promoted teams, so the price will go down. Will be interesting to see how Levy plays it - 12 players out is too much of an ask. Esp if you look at the past seasons, most go out on loan.
True, I know Spurs do not like to spend. I don't expect you to spend over £120m unless you made crazy fee's in sales.

I think Skipp should be kept for depth he hasn’t disappointed when called upon and I think he could be repurposed as he seems to have a good motor.

Emerson absolutely needs to be sold. He had put shambolic performances this season. He only ever put a memorable performance against City last year and has never put such a performance again. He is at worst a liability, at best putting out middling performances.

The interview when he sounded like Tim Sherwood, that did it for me. Clubs will always have dead wood, but we have too many. That’s why, we are where we are and our bench is weak. Why do we keep buying so-so players? These are the same old conversations since 2007 and I’m sick of it. As a commercially viable club, we are doing well, but on the pitch, we are lacking. So, unless there’s root and branch change what else do we supporters expect to happen? Man Utd last few seasons have been judged as failure and Arsenal a few seasons back. Yet both teams have still won recent trophies. Their failure is better than our success. Shameful if you ask me. Next season’s prediction? About the same as this season with more fans wanting the manager out.
