Should You Buy the Attack on Titan Clash Decks? | UniVersus CCG

- Clash Decks are entry-level products for the UniVersus CCG - and like many other elements of Attack on Titan, they have seen some changes with this newest UVS release!
I took a look at the decks, and played some games with a player who JUST STARTED with Attack on Titan and the Godzilla Challenger decks to feel them out and get a new player's perspective on if these decks are worth buying - and the answer may surprise you!

I ordered mines yesyerday, hopefully it will be a 4 weeks or so waiting. By the looks of them, I see they are pretty simple and easy to play, I think very important for starter decks. Things I would have liked: 1. Different skills for both character, having the same feels lazy.
2. Introduction of Back ups. One or two back ups, which is the new card type, would help new player to catch up with the game state.
I certainly will have more feedback after I actually have them in my hands, so excited!
I just saw these on the store i buy from. I hope it's worth it. They got it for 70 per box
One thing to note about these two Clash Decks, is that every card in these (sans the two characters) is found in the booster set. If you absolutely need these specific cards from the set, getting the clash decks is a "guaranteed" way to get them fwiw.
These decks look like a great product for new players to get into. I think these are what new players need! Great video, Dan.
100%, I was actually really skeptical going in and expected to make a more critical video but I think they have a pretty good mix for learning the game here. The game IS HARD, so products like these are quite essential, I think!
@@MaindeckGames I agree. This game is hard to get into. I'm a little bummed that the starter decks aren't something I would want but it's more important to cater to a new crowd
Thanks for the breakdown. I agree with the intent of these but I wish it was a single duel deck offering and like 10 bucks cheaper.
Appreciate this analysis. I'm pretty surprised that the health was genuinely seen as a good teaching tool but the rest makes a lot of sense to me. Might have to pick a pair up to study.
Should i get these or the godzilla decks?

Was there an instruction booklet? Bc if not, I wouldn't be able to recommend this product.
Also, the health at 15 instead of at least 20 makes it seem like you won't live long enough to even string out stuff or learn how to string.
There is a playmat and a document that takes you to the online tutorials for sure. Unfortunately mine got tossed out accidentally!
The health thing was exactly what I thought would happen, but it's not entirely the case. There are plenty of defensive foundations and decent enough block zones that it's reasonable to play defensively with them so long as you aren't playing against actual constructed decks.
Damn they really made clash decks horrible for existing players.
Yeah, I do not recommend them if you are established in the game already - but that's what the Challenger Deck is for now instead!
