Why didn't he wear some sort of nonstingingjellyfish gloves to pick it up...
John K because the tentacles can get caught up in the gloves and when you go to take them off or scratch your nose or wipe the sweat of your forehead...
And also, gloves that could actually work like that wouldn’t allow him to pick it up.

Anyways, gloves that would allow the protection from the tentacles would be extremely slick, due to the protective coating that would be needed.
Plus, with any gloves, there’s a major risk of those tentacles getting stuck in the rim of the gloves without the person knowing. Then when the person moves just the wrong way? Dead.
You need your sense of touch. Wearing gloves of any kind severely limits that sense.

I grew up around these and they were said to have the most painful venom on earth. Couldn't swim at beaches and knew people who had been stung badly enough that they couldn't go to swimming pools because of the trauma

Jellyfish terrify me more than anything on this planet, this one most of all. I was on the verge of a panic attack when I first watched this episode, but kept watching because it’s one of my favorite shows and it interested me so much.

Went to Cape Tribulation once. There were literally 4 different signs put up of the things in the water that could kill you: crocs, sharks, box jellies and sea snakes. I was fine with just a stroll down the beach...

@Seth Sters He'd probably fine so long as they had a large container of vinegar on hand. That being said I really wouldn't request for Coyote to enter the sting zone of the box jellyfish due to how comparatively lethal it is in comparison to the insects he was stung by.

We could actually need more turtles. Some sea turtles eat these things and do not have any effects from them.

My one arm is filled with scars from a jellyfish. Worst experience I've ever had and I developed a fear of the ocean.

@@sophia-jd8po It's box jellyfish or salabay. In the morning, when I was peacefully swimming I felt like someone grabbed my arms and let it go, so I raise up from the water and saw that no one's with me so I told the local and they said it was probably box jellyfish. They put a vinegar on my arm. Later on the afternoon, I was swimming again with my friends and we were on a circle, but I am the only one who got stinged? It clings into my arms and even in my rib part and ripped part of my shirt.
@@chopstcks that is so scary, I'm sorry that happened. It also happened to me recently, and I've been trying to find the type of jellyfish it is but I can't find it at all. I was swimming with my younger sister and all of a sudden felt a stinging pain all across my leg, and I immediately knew it was a jellyfish because my little brother had caught one earlier. It stung horrible for a while and is still irritated. The jellyfish was very small, a little smaller than the palm of my hand and it was almost invisible in the water because it was crystal clear.also, the tentacles were very short. There were no markings on it either

They have no pain sensors and on top of that they're one of the deadliest creatures in the world. A few tentacles is the last thing you should be worrying about.

These videos are what I call MAX ENTERTAINMENT
Beautiful beaches here but the water can be very deadly. Currents and rip tides cause a lot of drownings here. You’ve got the box jelly fish, stonefish, blue ringed octopus, sharks, sea snakes, crocs. It’s worth it though, nothing like a swim at the beach on a scorching day.
Imagine mistaking it for plastic bag and get sting..😬

Those two jellyfish appear to be in the exact same location (notice the tree on the land in the background). Feels a bit setup to me.

Actually some of it is setup. If he can’t catch some of whatever fish he’s going for, they will just set it up but I think most of the time most of it is legitimate

I never understood why they didn't use tongs. It won't hurt the jellyfish unless you squeeze down on them, and it's way more safer that attempting to take one with your bare hands.

Davie Lawrence The tentacles can get caught up in/on the gloves and most gloves that would actually protect him would prove ineffective at grabbing the jellyfish

For those asking why gloves are used. Apparently it's almost impossible to hold onto a jellyfish while wearing gloves, too soft and slippery. But for the guy cutting the tentacles, no reason except bravado. Taking a foolish risk, imo.

I don't really understand this. If it's the worlds most deadly venom why isn't he being rushed to hospital like you would if you were bitten by a snake? Or at the very least why are they so casual and continuing on with the filming?
Cause snake venom from a bite goes directly into the bloodstream, while this was skin contact
