Oklahoma got a couple favors, but the bigger problem was Bama was lowballed a few times. If Luisa had a Swarofski crystal OU symbol on her leo, her scores would've been 9.95, 10.0, 10.0, and 10.0. To be clear, those would be my scores too. The idea that she got a 9.9 while 3 Sooners w/ visual deductions outscored her(including the ridiculous 10 at the end) is just maddening. Don't get me twisted. OU is the better overall team. Bama is putting up 2 FTY on vault. Aly was right about the 92 Olympics because against OU, you legit have to be putting up Shannon Miller/Lavinia Milosovici level Yurchenko fulls. While I'd say Bama has a UB game that has the scoring potential to win, technically I find Oklahoma's bars more interesting and dynamic. I blind scored the meet and had Oklahoma at 198.6 and Alabama at 198.5.
For a visiting team to come to Lloyd Noble Centre and register a score of 198+ against OU...and STILL get beaten by more than 0.500 (hmm) sends a serious message to any potential challenger out there. Other teams have just started to get into a 198 groove: OU have reached the level where it's the minimum score they will make in a meet, notwithstanding the current nqs table. I think this is their 6th (SIXTH) such consecutive score, and a new season high. I've never seen that! Look, they're not my favourite team...but I give credit (and admiration) when due.
As someone who has had no problem pointing Audrey Davis' UB dismount flaws...I'd give her credit for getting it around this time. ...I'd still like to point out the cowboy though which could be a deduction. ...However, like Aly, I too grew up watching 90s gymnastics so I tend to forgive cowboying if the toes are pointed...Savannah.

Aly’s respect level for both coaches is top tier. She refers to each coach appropriately by their respective title (coach) most people don’t do that and if they do I’ve never noticed
OU is one of my favorite teams but WTF judges, Jordan Bowers did not need you to give her a 10 for a floor routine that was clearly not perfect! She knew it was not perfect. Heck, everyone knew it wasn't perfect, except for the "judges." And then, there are gymnasts that actually do perform perfect routines (ie.....Arkansas floor) and the judges do not award them the 10 that they earned. The only thing consistent about these judges, is that they are inconsistent. It is so frustrating!

I thought the vault scoring was pretty accurate but everything else was crazy. On floor alone you have Smith who had a 9.975 when both her landings weren't off and Bowers got a 10 when her foot clearly slide. I actually think Kat had their best floor and sometimes gets underscored. OU is great and they are the best team but scoring is defiantly off. I think the post season scores Will be very interesting for all teams. It's hard to judge most teams. I do think OU and Cal are the top 2 teams but we will see how everything plays out.

Second, I pointed out 2 examples and both of them were on their landings which are usually pretty easy to see any deductions to even people who don't know much about scoring. You even had the commentators; who are both Olympic Champions, both have a wealth of knowledge in the sport and scoring, one is known as the most decorated American Male gymnast of all time who has over 30 years as a gymnastics commentator, commenting on the landings of the above example I gave. In your logic I hope you've never complained about a call a ref has made during a basketball game, football game, or baseball game you've watched since you are not a ref. 🤦♀️

Everyone knows how OU is great and is the best team when they hit, but they are overscored a lot and today was absolutely out of control, it was one of the worst competitions they had this year but still got 188.775? NCAA judges should have someone controlling them
It’s called the “Oklahoma bonus” - where you just get a better score because you are wearing an Oklahoma leotard. It is like judges don’t know how to give lower than a 9.9 on any routine. I think the entire college gymnastics community is tired of seeing them constantly over scored. Don’t get me wrong, they are clearly usually the best team, but they don’t need any favors from the judges, always getting these insane 198+ scores that they probably aren’t really deserving. A girl from Oklahoma with clear errors will get a better score on an event than another gymnast from another team that did the same routine without errors or even the same errors.
Thanks so much for this video. You are the absolute best! I thought OU handled the pressure of the two falls really well. Alabama was rock solid ending on beam. Both teams had some breathtaking performances and look beautiful doing them. Hope Alabama continues to improve moving into the post-season.
Its actually called being conservative. The whole lineup can do 1 1/2s but theres no point getting hurt before post season and plus Jamison has been so consistent with that vault.
A 9.950 for Ragan Smith with a very clear bobble on her series? How much is OU paying these judges lol. They had two falls and scored this high? I also can’t deal with the Audrey Davis judging with her clear deductions with bent knees on her twisting skills especially on her beam dismount and her separated legs on her block on vault. Also how is Kat scoring so high on bars with a level 8 dismount….
It’s literally 0.1 lol that’s it and other teams that do the same routine with the same dismount as her do not score that high. And sometimes commentators even criticize them for not throwing double layouts or full outs as a dismount when they’re from another school.
Jordan’s floor routine was beautiful but I don’t think it should’ve been a 10

There were definitely some crazy scores but the falls are irrelevant. The lowest score gets dropped and has zero impact on the next person's routine.
6 in the lineup top 5 scores count. You can have a mistake and drop that score.
