There's a video somewhere on here showing his vocal cords and how he is able to do that, the one I feel sorry for is his understudy, imagine going onstage and giving it your best but you know you literally can't sing like him
When he first got the role as Beetlejuice, he had to take professional voice lessons to learn how to sing like this without damaging his vocal chords. That's how he can do this 8 times a week (:
He has something where instead of that tickling his throat it is easy as breathing, I have the same thing and after seeing the musical it was hard to not do the voice at random times
I think she enjoyed doing the show up until the last few months of her Broadway run, she had been doing it for several years at that point so I kind of get if she wasn’t as into it as she had been before
@@broadwaylover3105 I think she began to disengage from it even earlier. She started missing a lot of shows the last few months, but started to be absent from promotional events of the show since the summer. It's a shame how her run with the show ended, she was fantastic as Lydia when I saw her. I feel like doing the role for more than 2 years might have taken a toll on her voice, it seems her voice sounds more and more strained towards the end of her run.
They had to change "Say My Name" because in this version Lydia says nothing between guessing Beetlejuice name and the tease meaning she says Beetlejuice three times in a row saying nothing in between before saying Because.
is that sophia? I am struggling real hard here. The voice sometimes sounds like her but she just doesnt have the same edge? Or the playful tone Sophia has? Maybe she added that later on in the production, but yeah can someone pls tell me if this is Sophia playing Lydia or not
Damn I love this! Sophia and Alex have great chemistry here too (not in the romantic way obvs, but they work together so well). It's a shame their run ended the way it did.
Does anybody know who's the guy in the back visible at 5:44? (white shoes, black pants and red shirt with some kind of jacket on) To me he looks like George Salazar, just wondering if I'm right
Alright now I can do what Alex can do like do the really REALLY gruff and I don't know what it is but I guess I could literally sing side by side next to Alex Alex no one would tell the difference
Some actors are only in the workshop processes of a show for a variety of reasons. A lot of the times people are brought in specifically just for the workshop so the producers can get the work up and running, so they usually hire people in the business or people that they know to do readings of new musicals. Kyle may have planned to stay with the show until Broadway, but had other projects come up before the transfer. So who really knows lol?
It really is interesting hearing what they kept and changed
Ikr! I love hearing all the different versions
IKR?
That takes talent to sing with that gravely voice and NOT emanate your vocal chords! I don’t know who this dude is but I like him.
From what Alex said, his voice just naturally does that. It's actually easier for him to sing with that gravelly voice than his real singing voice!

It is mostly part of his natural voice but to try to impersonate him you can use what is called "false fold phonation" it is wierd but it exists

Kerry Butler is so cute sitting there jamming along with the music and laughing at the performances
I’m in your corner
- I DONT WANT YOU IN MY CORNER

That is the sound. Of. Me. Screaming at Alex’s stance right here HOLY SHIT-
I know this video is about Alex but I CAN NOT get enough if Sophia’s voice 🥲
Wow Sofia is so good here! I’m sad she didn’t seem to enjoy her time in the cast.

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the lyrics, she just forgot to say yeah
It is werid hearing the original say my name
it's frustrating that i can't sing along lol
@@SunshineStudios2021 yeah ikr
I DONT WANT YOU IN MY CORNER is so clean
Sophia sounds gorgeous in this. I prefer the clarity of her voice here. Less pulling into the throat.
Kerry is so precious in the back oml
When the girl started vibing to the song and Alex scared her at 2:05
Omg sophia is insanely good in this
Loved this. Just saw him on Broadway from the second row
Put all the Tupperware parties behind you!🤣

John Cariani as Adam would have been perfect but I also love Rob and David so much
Yeah I saw him and I was like “wait that’s Nigel from something rotten”
@@gabriella3907 same, oh my god
yeah! also the fact that John and Rob played brothers during the tour of Something Rotten makes this even better!

2:05 Poor Kerry!
Say my name changed so much omg
Interesting to see how lyrics were changed.
You can actually hear how the voice has changed
I thought I was the only one who noticed.
I'd bet even though it's a special thing for his voice it still has to be trained. He also may be scared to hurt his voice at this point

Yea you’re right :D It is George Salazar
@@kindlydisappointed2244 oh, that’s cool! I wasn’t aware that he was in bj workshops at some point
Is? Is that George Salazar?
Yes! He was a part of this reading in 2018
Indeed it is I literally looked at the comments just to see if anyone noticed
Wow would have totally missed him! Think he was Otho?
where can i watch the whole thing?
The whole musical?
Alright now I can do what Alex can do like do the really REALLY gruff and I don't know what it is but I guess I could literally sing side by side next to Alex Alex no one would tell the difference
4:54!

Anyone know where the other half of the video is? (there should be another six minutes)
These are just the clips with Alex!
@@broadwaylover3105 Nice! Alex Brightman is the the best! 🥰
I’m so glad it got changed cuz it was so clunky lol
Is that George Salazar? OMG!
OMG where?
@@MysteriousGirl10 5:14 Hi, He is behind Kerry!
so weird hearing alex sing the demo lyrics
Anyone know what Charles and Adam say at 6:03 ?
Sounds like “A fella makes Hugh Hueffner by comparison look like a child”
Is this right ???
Why is Brad Oscar there? He’s just sitting in the back the whole time…
Why is Kyle Selig there?
