    I’ve just been diagnosed as pre diabetic so I’ve not seen a dietician yet and you’ve given me better info on GI in food and how it can affect your blood sugar than my primary care nurse at the drs surgery Thank you for explaining it so clearly I can print out a GI list and make better choices that’ll be a big help ,I love watching your cooking and recipes just got my air fryer at Christmas thanks again 👍

      Sian, I never was told any of this from the diabetic nurse or even my local GP. I have researched this with online doctors. Check out the link in the description for you to understand about the carbs and diabetes.

      Hi Sian, me too a couple of years ago now. Put me on Metformin which made me very sickly 24/7 for months and had to come of it. Found a Natural substitute in 'Berberine' [had never heard of it before] and within about 10 days it crashed my Blood Glucose Level to such a low level, I was getting the shakes, so started on 1 every other day. Worth a look if you have a reaction to Metformin!

    Just a quick note: when you release your 15 in 1 the pressure goes straight onto your plasterboard ceiling of which will attract mould. Either put it under an extractor or put paper towels over the top of the vend to absorb! Hope it helps! Great videos!!

    Looking forward to seeing the 15 in 1 in use because we've just bought one and I'm still experimenting. Tried the steam roast, pressure cook, slow cook and dehydrate functions so far. I'm glad you previously mentioned about the slow cooker function not being the same as a normal slow cooker because I found the same with mine, it wouldn't come up to a simmer. Apparently, if you start it off using the saute function before switching to slow cook it will get up to temperature far more quickly than just using the slow cook function alone. I did some chicken breast jerky for my dog using the dehydrate function yesterday. He absolutely loves it.

I am willing to try any food that I have not eaten before, I do like a Vodka or Three with Diet Lemonade. No Sugar in Vodka or Gin, it's the mixers that are full of sugar. Never had Celeriac before, I will give these chips ago and use the Chinese seasoning. Thanks for another entertaining and Knowledgeable Video Martin and Sharon.

    Hi Sharon & Martin, My husband accidentally discovered his sugars were high around 5 years ago.He went to the GP who do the bloods based on the previous 3 months and his reading was 13. Immediately they gave him tablets..statins, metformin and various information At no point did they ever say he could control it himself via diet. As we are not a family who likes to take meds & would rather find the cause( as you rightly said in your videos) rather than treat the symptoms.We decided to look into foods. And we learned the difference between simple carbs & complex carbs...complex carbs dont push your sugars up like simple carbs,,hence your ok with celeriac and sweet potato as they break down differently in the body, youre right about that.Hes eaten exactly the way you describe for the last 5 years. He has had normal sugars the whole time below 7. Various GPs have said, he would never stick to it and he would be back for metformin. He hasnt. I read somewhere that Metformin can actually keep your sugars high, but i cannot confirm that personally. We love the video/recipes. Are you going to tell us your weight loss each week for those who are following the diet along with you? Hopefuly Lee will stick to it aswell as any weight loss via more protein will help his knees i think dont you? Look forward to your next recipe..,,oh, have you done a joint of beef in the airfryer? wanting to do it but worried it will go dry and chewy? All the best xxx

      I did a playlist of weight loss and diabetes control here ua-cam.com/play/PLxclO2EaYAA9ekZgTSYtFCUYkPJLXrsgn.html Check it out.
      They tried to get me on the same medication when I was diagnosed but I refused and did what I shared in this playlist. They are not interested in you getting better, they now operate as a business and that means making a profit so they prescribe medication to treat the symptom and not the cause. That way you'll be on medication for life and will never solve the condition. I don't know anybody that is on metformin that has got better but I know plenty who have reversed type 2 diabetes with the correct nutrition.

    Another great video. Can I just say that when opening the lid when pressure cooking do not stand in front of it. Either open it away from yourself or stand to the side. A friend was seriously burned when she opened her instant pot after pressure cooking and now scarred for life.

    • @bk14biker
      @bk14biker Рік тому

      I can't comment on the instant pot because I know nothing about them but as far as I'm aware, the slider is locked on the Ninja 15 in 1 to prevent the lid being opened until the pressure has been released, so the type of accident experienced by your friend shouldn't happen.

    • @angelawhite8650
      @angelawhite8650 Рік тому

      Instant Pot has a locking mechanism so you can’t open the lid until it has fully vented. What happened to my friend shouldn’t have happened but it did. She has used the pressure cooking function many times and was aware of the safety precautions. I have an Instant Pot and use it almost everyday but I am cautious when pressure cooking and lift the lid away from myself. I just felt the need to let all you lovely people know what I know and just be aware that sometimes machines can go wrong.

    • @butlersempire
      @butlersempire  Рік тому +1

      Well done Dave, but your diabetes is totally different to type 2 so your comment about GI being crap is totally wrong.
      Low GI foods is a way to control the sugar in the blood as not to raise insulin in a type 2 diabetic and thus control the insulin resistance we have.
      No medication needed with the correct knowledge about what you put in your mouth. You need insulin, We have insulin but it's out of control but reversible where as your condition isn't reversible.
