I genuinely feel so lucky to have seen and witnessed this production in London last year and I'm still not over it. Genuinely one of the best theatrical experiences of my life. Go see it if you can!!!
Sunset boulevard is an amazing show i saw Betty Buckley who played Norma Desmond I would seriously love you guys to tour and come the wales millennium centre in Cardiff amazing show Nicole your amazing too x
@@douglasduff4466 I know there different but Glenn close won a tony for that role maybe you didn’t like her as singer but if you heard the album you would have a change of tune maybe maybe not
I believe you may have missed the point. Women in their 40s often feel that they are in their prime. They know themselves better, are more confident, and in Nicole's case, she works out, stays fit, looks great, and feels that she's at the peak of her life. How can you deny that?
@Ninya_B because objectively she isnt in her prime. A persons confidence doesn't determine whether they're in their prime. Nicole is 46, she was exiting her prime 20 years ago. How can working out matter about being in her prime when she was more attractive 20 years ago, maybe even without having to workout like she does now? Washed up women cope by saying theyre in their prime decades after their prime. Its one of the reasons women are more depressed than normal and why our birth rates are so low. Lol, she says shed love to have kids, and she said that at 46? She is clearly not the brightest person. Nobody cares about a raisin. Shes famous because she was hot, it didnt matter if she couldnt actually sing. Why didnt she cash in her ability to have the kids shed love to have when she could actually have kids? If you want kids, dont wait until youre 40+ lol. Thats not how female reproductive organs work.
@Ninya_B but again, women cope by saying you can be in your prime past 30. Thats like a guy saying his prime is at 18 years old lol. Guys at that age are basically useless to women
A question: This is an obviously staged and produced PR commercial, masquerading as a " serious theatrical interview with actress and director". Is that not unto itself an act of "ego and vanity", especially in term of her unabashed and un-self-conscious remark "how could Broadway have ever existed without me?". And the age-old classical critical question: Will the production succeed because she will bring something deeper, unexplored, utterly unique and compelling to the role that surpasses her predecessors, or it all just "innovation for innovation's sake" on behalf of Mr. Lloyd? And as has been mentioned and grumbled about online by audiences and some London critics lately, is Mr. Lloyd directing in a new set of "The Emperor's (so-called) 'cool' Gen Z clothing"? Or is it all, quite literally, smoke and digital video mirrors, over and over and over again in every other Lloyd production? By the time anybody reads this, those questions will be answered one way or another.
Have you seen her live London it was exactly this, she delivered on a deeper level. She was so bare, so strong so very very intense that the essence of the drama came to live without any decorations or costumes. She carried it with shameless madness and ego larger than life. What you wrote about smoke & mirrors and emperors new clothes did apply to the Romeo&Juliet w. Tom Holland. It was so dull and boring. Lloyd served nothing and people didn't admit how lame it was. But Sunset Blvd hits different. Got my NY ticket and can't wait to see this cast in NY.
I get what you’re saying. She is a stunt cast member and most people who don’t know the show will only see it to see a former pussy cat doll. However it’s been long enough past that stage of her life that it’s safe to say she does love theatre. I really do think she’s improved as a stage performer as well. The videos from Hollywood’s rent don’t even compare to the work she’s done in Sunset.
PURE RUBBISH…save your $$$$. The entire show was over miked and amplified out the wazoo. Smoke machines and harsh lights were used on 75% of the songs -- it was more like a Las Vegas or American Idol show. Nicole was too young (but can sing) the choreography was like something out of a high school revival. The hand held camera bits was novelty at first but after umpteen uses it bordered on delirium. Takes place in 1949 with 1980s costumes. At one point, Joe was doing the 80s robot dance and Norma was speaking like a valley girl. A giant mess!
I reserve any judgement regarding her performance, as I've never seen her work nor heard her sing, but in every interview I've seen, she's utterly insufferable.
Nicole is an idol of mine. Her hard work. Her dedication to the craft. All of her. Thank you Nicole for paving the way to Broadway!
It’s about time that my queen Nicole. We can’t wait to go see her❤😊

I feel the same way. Saw it two days ago. My heart is still racing!

I saw it with glen close back in 2017 absolutely fantastic
Betty Buckley was life changing. She radiates God energy.
I was lucky to see this production in London at the Savoy in London last September. I was amazed with this JL version. Love the use of technology.
Amazing show!! Best of luck on Broadway
Love her! Cannot wait for this!
So excited to finally see this production on Broadway I saw the past revival with Glenn close in 2017
No comparison- completely different productions. And of course Nicole is a stunning singer, Glenn Close is not.

Nicole. Beautiful girl

What a show. I suppose like when Cats hit Broadway in 80s

You reap what you sow
This is a classic circle jerk, but I don't mind it.
Did she really say that shes in her prime now?
Her prime was when "don't cha" came out. What a rocket.
For example,
