You'll love the Monk. It seems really different from what you'd expect from that time period cause like you said the author wrote it when he was 20 so he didn't care about being too wild or transgressive. It's honestly the blue print of what we consider now to be seasoned horror cliches. It's also so well written that even now with our modern eyes that are used to extreme horror content it still holds up in how much shock and awe it can invoke.
I’m also a huge fan of The Necrophiliac so it’s nice to finally see someone else read it! I’ve had The Monk sitting on my shelf for years and you’ve inspired me to finally pick it up 😅
Any Read with Me style videos coming soon? I absolutely used to love the ones where you would have the timelapse of reading and cut in when you hit interesting stuff as a "live reaction".
the rhine is a river in europe that flows through 6 countries including switzerland, Germany and France, Netherlands, Austria and Leichtenstein... LYCAN-Thrope...werewolf were creature etc
Just read Ramskull by William Meikle. he does a lot of chapbooks, usually put in collections and writes new adventures for Carnacki, originally created by William Hope-Hodgson, Carnacki was an Occult detective first published in 1913. I have read a lot of his (William Meikle's) stories.
I seriously love Lisa Jewell. I’m currently reading “The Night She Disappeared” for my book club book. Have you ever read any Christina Henry novels? I just picked up Alice at walmart yesterday. I’m not sure how I’ve went this long without knowing of its existence but apparently it’s a series.
I absolutely love the Pines series by Blake Crouch. Highly recommend to those who haven't read that yet. Also I just finished Others by James Herbert, and wow was that a wild ride. If anyone hasn't read James Herbert I suggest giving him a try. I've read a lot of Brian Keene and I suggest reading The Conqueror Worms. It's one of my favorites but I won't spoil it here.
Brian Keene and his wife (author Mary SanGiovanni) just opened a new bookstore in Pennsylvania, and it's a horror lover's dream! Vortex Books. They're hosting tons of great authors for events/signings, and you can order signed copies from their site. Worth checking out for anyone in the Northeast.
Big fan of Briane Keene. I think my introduction to him was Ghoul. He wrote a story in an X Files book released in 2015 titled Trust no one, if you're into X files.
I can't remember the exact number but I think it was between 1,500 and 2,000. I guess it isn't that much per month, but I was still surprised at how much it added up to.

I am sick in bed (reading a book I learned about from this channel btw) and seeing a new video was posted really made my day!
Get well soon!
I always love seeing Anda's thumbnail popup in my feed. ❤
Also, Dead Sea sounds right up my alley. I’m a sucker for zombies. I definitely need an update when you read.
Yay, I always look forward to your videos. I found Wrath James White books thanks to you 🥰
Rec for your trip; The Ritual by Adam Nevill. Nothing like the movie, but the movie is fab too (but may keep you out of the woods for a while) x

I hope The Monk is just as disturbing and beautiful as this one!
@@AndaKent looking forward to your review (whenever you manage to get to it!)

Yes! I'll be filming one of these at the beginning of next month. Thanks for letting me know you enjoy this type of video. I never know what to film.
That BFF book package was a nice color theme

I totally get it haha.. I'm traveling around the UK for a month and I've been listening to on audiobook, the complete works of Sherlock Holmes 😊
Only recently found your channel, love the book choices.

No, I haven't read any of her books. Let me know if it's worth the read! I'm always looking for thriller books that don't disappoint me haha.
I love Brian Keene. The Rising is one of my favorite zombie books of all time. ❤

That is so awesome! If I ever head that way I'll have to check it out. Thanks for letting us know.

You are making me poor. Every time I watch a video of yours, I order a new book..
I'm sorry! But I'm right there with you 😂
Great, diverse haul!
I'm curious. You read 10 books a month how many pages or hours do you read a day?
I try to read 100 pages a day. The time varies depending on the book. I don't always make that goal, but at the VERY least I read 20 pages a day.
Great vid! Still hoping you get to Schrader’s Chord sometime 😊
Always mail from the po box never the rich box.
I just finished The Streets of Floria by JB Arnold. I loved it if you had not read it you need to check it out!
Is it too crass to ask how much you spent on books last year? lol
Probably close to 5-8k I'd wager 😅

I wish I have 8k to spend on books 😂
