- Opening day at Red Bull Arena ushered in a new era of MLS soccer, as a sell-out crowd and a storied Brazilian franchise welcomed the New York Red Bulls to their new home.
To those in attendance, thanks for making our opening night an unforgettable one. For those who were elsewhere, we can't wait for you to join us.

this "arena" is the greatest thing to happen to the red bull organization, and helped the MLS big time! hopefully they can keep it up keep filling the seats! I really love what direction this league is going these days, it seems every year now there adding1 somtimes 2 teams to the league, and for all the teams that share stadiums with other sports franchises,
Very Good that Santos was called. Considered by many to be the strongest team in the Americas this year. Scored 22 goals in the last 3 games. Incredible. The best team in Brazil hands down. And I am a big soccer critic.
MLS in 15 yrs has accomplished more than any other league when they started. Give it time and it will grow.

That seems inspired Lindpere to score our winning goal in your stadium. Please can you do the same on Thursday at Red Bull Arena? Joel will really appreciate it. GO RED BULLS!!!

its kool to c a team like dis in a a league like the mls make a push to get better there is talent in america nd they r bringin in stars like henry nd dey r playin better and it was shown last season with quality wins over teams like manchester city and they took the number one seed in the east for the mls playoffs the team is no barcelona but its givin us sum pride

I think Bralizians clubs should line up main Squads but was a beautiful party for a great stage. MLS will grow more and more when the clubs face Libertadores in same level as Brazilian and Argentinians.
A real football ground ground, just to let all you NY Red Bulls fans I played and went to school in the same year as Carl Robinson, was always gonna be a good pro and did well for himself.

About the match... Santos was playing with team B, only Neymar is from team A of Santos, if Santos played with team A you would see a show! Good job Red Bull, i hope soccer be so popular in United States as it is in Brazil and Europe!

Santos was playing with the reserve team. The best's player was in Sao Paulo, to play against Ituano, in a local championship. Santos won by 9x1! And Santos is the leader of this championship! By the way, Santos won the game against Corinthans and Sao Paulo FC in this championship!

@chinmassager So far this year is over 16.000 for MLS games. Is a nice modern, cozy stadium not too far from the city, but people seem to think that way.
every time i buy a redbull, I think of all the cool stuff they will do with the money :D
well you have to watch a lot of soccer games to get the hang of it. it may seem boring at first...but usually, all of those 1-0 and 0-0 games have a TON of drama in them like near misses, hitting the goal post, or amazing goalie saves...Just watch a few games and see what happens :D

o santos de hoje até que nao é bom, mais o de 2010 era incrivel tinha o melhor ataque do mundo era um time muito mais muito bom,era o time que fez mais gols em 2010 em todo o mundo, jogava bonito era dificil ganhar deles tava em uma fase muito boa e entrozado demais, mais hoje ainda tem o Neymar que faz a diferença mais o time como todo não é tão bom hoje, mais em 2010 era fantastico digo isso porque so rival so torcedor do Corinthians (:

@213USA Youre right, Mls is on the rise but I think you need to cool it before you get disappointed. Trust me, the world is not worried whatsover, in fact theyre exited to see them finally starting to enjoy football a little. RB Arena is great addition but you have to be realistic man, Mls will never be able to compete with European football. Its a way of life there. The champions league is what footballers aspire to play, not the concacaf cl or the mls cup.

MLS might not be the best league in the world right now,but it's a young league still more to accomplish and it will.In every other sport for example basketball best league in the world NBA,football the NFL,baseball MLB,hockey the NHL,boxing LAS VEGAS,NASCAR,they're all in AMERICA."MLS"?..AMERICA WILL ALSO OWN SOCCER PREETY SOON.

In 2010 theyre first place in the Paulista League and they have won 2 nationals leagues this decade, along with other important titles. Neymar and Paulo Henrique Ganso are probably the best players in Brazil nowadays.
The only player that belong to the "true" Santos (i mean first 22) that was in this game was Neymar. All the other were juniors/reserves. Some are very old, like Giovanni (38) and never play in the real team.

Just for you guys that don't know or haven't watched Santos play lately. The team Santos brought besides Neymar did not have any starters and by the way that wasn't even the subs Santos currently have on their bench. Santos played today in Brazil and beat another team by 9x1 and not to mention Robinho and Neymar didn't even play. So for you guys that like soccer, don't get to crazy about Red bulls beating the third team Santos have okay. Had they brought their real team you guyswould'vebeendead.
I know the answer now, so never mind :D
