it's a shame because wild animals that grow up with humans being their caregiver actually associate themselves with being a human given their upbringing so releasing them into the wild means that they don't know how to associate with animals of their same species or breed with them.
Cats and dogs are also Not make from Nature to become pets.

This big tough looking guy so gently handles and nurtures a baby squirrel. Can never judge a book by it's cover. 😊
Speaking what was on most of our minds. And to add to that...Chris went about it the right way. To not rehab it to eventually become a pet, but to eventually release it back into the wild.
I Guarantee it was damn tough on Chris to say no to Acorn wanting more family time and staying inside their home. But hey, the outdoors are his home, and little Acorn learned that.
You know that Chris missed him once he didn't really see ol' Acorn outside. But seeing that nest made his fricken day.
Like a Walt Disney ending that Acorn built his little squirrel house inside of Chris's property.
Writing a story here, sorry.
I would agree ! 👍

How sweet! I had found a baby squirrel years ago, nursed him with an eyedropper as you did, named him Rusty. Anyway, he used to sit by the door and wait for my husband to get off work, he knew the exact timing! He would run up his pantleg and crawl up to his shoulder and sit! I let him go finally but I still used to call his name, after so long, I never heard from him. But one day I called his name and I heard a noise on my neighbors roof, looked up and there was Rusty wagging his tail and chattering to me, I was so happy and then out of the blue another squirrel showed up at the top of the roof and they both slid down together to the gutter, just like a chip n dale cartoon! It was sooo cool! Rusty found his Love and came back to show me! Your story brought me back such a fond n lovely memory, thank you! Had to share mine!
Y'know, I will say that I believe this is a real story, but even if it isn't I'm still gonna keep that imagery in my head because realistic wholesome stories give me a reason to live.
@@derpaderpy4931 yes, this is all true! My husband and I lived in denison tx at the time near lake texoma. That baby squirrel fell out of a nest, I kept him in one of my furry houseshoes at first which was adorable to me! Batman passed away a week before ,he had bleeding in the anus .I'm so traumatized. He was just a month old ... My aunt said that he died because I closed his home ( a box) too tightly.... I guess I killed him unintentionally.... I killed my own baby . 😖😖😖 He was so cute ,I had a lot of future plans to do with him when he opened his eyes😖 everything goes in vain.
Thank you for sharing what a joyous story that is bless you!
We rescued three baby squirrels one year. What a group of characters they were! We had seen an adult squirrel dead in the road and then a couple of days later found little baby squirrels that had gotten so hungry that they climbed out of the nest. We gathered them up and fed them in our enclosed back porch for a couple of weeks and then they were ready to go off into the world and live the squirrel life. It was great fun caring for them.
Doesn't this guy look so NOT like the type who would care for a squirrel? Shows why a book should not be judged by its cover. Dude you rock!! 😘 ❤ 🐿
I totally agree with you. Well said Miss!
Absolutely! We all need to remind ourselves that appearances are nothing more than a costume. We all choose our costume for different reasons....
The ironic/funny thing is that even thinking that makes you quite judgemental.
Many tough looking guys actually really have a soft spot for little animals. Most of them even are I'm pretty sure cus I'm a guy.

Fun fact, 'Acorn' is pronounced almost exactly the same as the Dutch word 'Eekhoorn', which means squirrel.
In Swedish its "Ekorre" which is pretty close aswell.
yea, and its really close to polish 'wiewiórka' too ;)
@@MrKfadrat that's pretty close to the German word Eichhörnchen. 🐿😉
they are like exactly same words! damn world is weird ;)
@@MrKfadrat
Not really. English, Dutch, Swedish and German are all languages descended from the same old Germanic tribe-system (although i consider English these days more of an illegitimate phonetic and grammatical mish-mash of different languages and language-groups that its hard to even call it Germanic anymore)
Your language, Polish, is a Saxon one, so its not strange that it would not have some similarities, especially when you factor in geography.
*Oh, i almost forgot the obligatory "KURWA-MATCZ" whenever your talking to a slavic dude*
Fun and useless fact: ‘acorn’ sounds like the Dutch word ‘eekhoorn’ which means... squirrel. So a very fitting name, me thinks.
The German word is 'eichhörnchen' which is a compound word 'tree croissant'!
@@QuirkyShiny - haha I’m dead. That’s great.
These are all very entertaining facts. Loving this thread. XD
@@QuirkyShiny I'm Austrian and never heard of "Hörnchen = croissant" before. I guess it only works for Germany.

We rescued a baby girl squirrel several years ago; we named her Sammi. By about 4 months she was "wilding." We hated to let her go but nature was both more powerful and important than us.
