Squats, Squatting. Your legs, specifically your quads are a major key to fat loss. They are now saying that squats are better than walking for burning fat. Your quads are the largest muscle group in the body and squatting with the quads will help you burn the most fat. Look it up for your self!
I think getting into a routine is the best starting point. and by that, I mean start simple. go for a walk 3 times a week, for a month or so. Then add on when you gain an appetite for more
YES! I agree with you. I tend to start with too much, too fast. I have to remind myself that I didn't gain the weight overnight, and it isn't going to come off overnight. To everyone who is trying to lose weight, just keep putting one foot in front of the other. We got this!
That is the key…. That has been around for years. Less exercise and watch what you put in your body. Exercise is ok but that good. Was in fitness for over 35 years..: You can exercise til the cows come home but what you eat is the #1 component.
As adults we give our selves outs why we deserve bad foods and just rest! Instead of rewarding our selves with investing in us and longevity. I’m 59 with very stressful job, super focused. Yet I get up at 4am to ride smart trainer on bike, or run trails with headlight and a couple days a week strength training. Depending on my work fatigue it’s still about at the least 6hrs to 10hrs a week of training. I don’t give myself outs, I’m worth it!
@ I have tried that and do not lose weight. That’s what I’m saying. For my dang body it takes 2 hours a day of exercise to lose weight. It’s messed up!
@ you seriously think you know my situation? Try again. I’ve had this problem since I was in my 30’s. Right now I usually eat one meal a day as I have auto immune issues and COVID Long Haul. Try again!
It's actually pretty easy to get to a moderate activity level. A consistent walking speed of 3.5 mph is enough to get me to 50%+ of my max heart rate. 30 minutes of walking, 5 days a week isn't difficult for an able-bodied person.
No exercise is needed to impact weight/fat loss. I’m not saying it isn’t good to exercise or that it can’t impact weight loss, but 1000s of people have lost hundreds of pounds without any exercise. If you treat weight loss as the hormonal issue it is and decrease insulin, instead of counting calories, then you realize it isn’t necessary. In fact, you can NEVER outrun a bad diet.
More than will make you happy to hear lol. Diet, low in carbs with exercise is the way. Low sugar and carbs. High protein. Lots of cardio and weights for toning. Not complicated. Every day. Dont take days off cuz you wont start back up. Thank me later!!
2.5 hours per week? What’s the point? That’s nothing. You should be doing an hour every day at the least. 2.5 hours a week is why it takes people a year or more to lose weight.
If you tell people they need to exercise 7 hours a week they won’t start. If you tell them 2.5 maybe it seems approachable and then they get a little fitness and exercise more.

I’ve found this to be true. I can run for an hour or do squats along with other weightlifting in less time and burn more calories
Yeah its great, its 1 of the big 3 in weight lifting

@ it’s not one or the other you know. You can do different workouts on different days. Jesus, what world do you live in? A world of absolutes?

Great advice. This is how I started exercising 14 years ago and I run ultramarathons now.
For me it's about 90 minutes a day and the weight rips right off in 12 weeks.
20% exercise 80% diet.

I swim approximately 45 minutes four days a week & walk about four to five miles six days a week. Plus, making key diet changes makes a difference.
Cut down on eating.
I have to exercise two hours a DAY in order to lose weight!

counting calories is a better, less stressful and more efficient way
Doesn’t work forever tho
158 a minute? I don’t think so!

That's it, I'm joining the gym!
You don’t need a gym, just walk uphill until you can run then run.
