With crucial assistance from local police agencies, our members staked out several banks across the county, leading to the successful arrest of three individuals allegedly using cloned debit cards to withdraw cash from multiple accounts. I got skimmed in august and they used my benefits for two months because I caught on so late! Never use it at 7 elevens or gas stations
The EBT edge app helps. You can freeze your card so only when unfrozen you can use , void All of state transactions , void all online transactions
There is next to no consequence with the arrest. They will simply be deported without being jailed, but will return again and again.
This is so not right. I am a single mom cancer patient no income and i found out today that i was wiped out. County said it will take 60-90 days to get back what was lost so we have to wait for the next months benefit. This really breaks my heart.
Try your local food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters and churches.
They got me 2 times and they only replace your benefits ONCE EVERY 36 MONTHS!!

i know i can use my ebt in another state its national like any debit card i only have snap i was skimmed i donr see why the crooks went to the area banks i think they can use any atm/not in the area where the skimming took place many peoples ebt are stolen in other states its just amazing how easy it was to ee the cash all over the people shd get the money back they did this w stlen unemployment benefits/they had to know when the funds would come in
this could be avoided if those EBT cards had gold chips on them

its amazing they could track them down they could use any atm once they have the phony cards so i dont see why focusing on this area worked the thieves made the mistake of going to local banks amazing to see the cards and money and thats not counting the snap benefits as most they got greedy where is all the stolen funds once a atm card is made i guess with ebt cards and not debit cards really its anywhere in usa you can use it unless the cash is restricted to the area
no they get deprted or 20 years in jail im sure they bought the cars w the stolen money california is big why did they use the areas they did to redeem the fake cards and why did they not retire amzing they stole so much and this is just in this area also they would have to know the pin for the fake card

I personally know 2 store owners in san diego who will pay you cash to use your ebt food benefits. Yes ive used them years ago when i had ebt. He would give me 300 in cash for swiping 400 in ebt!! It woukd be a line of ppl doikg this every month!!!

ACTUALLY.. YOU ONLY GET YOUR BENEFITS ONE TIME!!! My benefits have been taken 2 times and I got a letter stating that my benefits will NOT be replaced again and they are replaced ONCE in a 36 month time frame!!

Thank you officers for doing a great job. I'm almost afraid to even use any 🏧, because of these things. I now go into the bank, make a withdrawal form and get cash to use. Thieves are making it easier to go back to the old fashion way of doing business. They get you online, through the phone and every other type of way. Like we just go to work for their benefit.
I’d leave enough cash in account for bills, but take most out to avoid using debit card , leaving your info everywhere for easy fraud. Addicts stand outside store selling Stolen ebt for cash. Stores and atm banks should be checking their machines regularly . Don’t ever use tap card payment , it leaves your account stays open so thieves come drain your $….use cash, avoid stores who refused cash payment.
