that is a classic cs moment, not over till it's over and all it takes is a juicy update to get people back on track. That being said it is valve so I'm not expecting much
Great video. This might be copium, but Paris will be the next "there's no bad investment if you hold long enough" example in Counter Strike. Time will tell, but I don't regret owning a copious amount of Paris stickers & capsules. This will profit, but is this the best place to keep my money? Who knows, but I think it's low risk.
Then the question is: Should one sell all the stickers now before Copenhagen and not risk the capsules dropping more, meaning that I don't lose, or gain anything on my investment or is it worth the risk? I have been thinking about selling them for a while, but the smart choice might be to stick to them since they, most likely, won't drop beneath 0,25 euros. What's your opinion on the matter?
I would argue there's more room to move up. I doubt these would ever go down below 0.25 euro for an extended period, but if copenhagen isn't borderless they could double. Now personally, I'm done with gambling on items like this and would rather sell to have peace of mind but it's not gg yet
I actually redid this video because that was my first assumption. After adding up the capsules, it's either 108.5 million or 112.5 million I can't quite remember, either way basically 110m. Unless hltv didn't separate capsule revenue from total revenue when listing the capsule splits, the pass is revenue on top of the 110 million. It would be disengenous to say that X capsule has generated X revenue for teams and players while also adding other revenue sources inflating the numbers. Considering it's not specifically mentioned in the article and the individual capsule revenue equals the headline, I find that 110 million (220 million total) revenue is for the capsules alone Edit: that being said there is a world where hltv did jumble all these numbers together, and that should be considered
I have contacted the teams inside of the Paris major for a secondary source. However, the way the payouts work, the teams receive the sticker value, and the pass value separate. Therefore they COULD provide separate numbers to HLTV, but I don't believe they did. The numbers from HLTV are correct, but I believe they also include the money generated by the pass, or else they would have had to directly ask for that number from the organization, and therefore, should have mentioned that in the article. @@ptreeNA
Good point and I do appreciate the work you did to reach out. Maybe striker will respond but he has mostly deflected/not responded to people asking what exactly is included
rmr is over invested but looks like trash , paris triple over inveted but they are arguably the best looking stickers in the game so it will be fine long term.
I don't own paris items at least not enough to consider anything an investment. But as stockholm and antwerp maintain, cases generally have stabilized, operation skins are on the rise and paris is crashing. Maybe people need to consider their options
if you go to price empire you can search a specific item or just a keyword like "paris holo". They provide trends on each major market but steam and buff are really the only 2 that matter in terms of liquidity. At this point in time searching "paris holo" there are 2 items in a page of 33 that have not lost value since the article was published and both of them are signatures. The only team currently that hasn't lost value is fluxo on buff after a spike ~12 hours ago but that will likely correct as steam and every other market is still down. Considering these holos are generally down 50% from peak already, it's rough to see them continuing to fall while other items are starting to find their place in the market.
@@ptreeNA I don't really care about stickers but the capsules went up after january 10th which was when the article was published and then now recently went back down to the same level. although my graph on steam market fluctuates a bit differently than most others due to the currency I use so there might be a slight difference from euro or dollar numbers, I would say that saying paris is crashing is just plain wrong
Should be very possible if cs2 gets back on track. There's going to be a ton of people with no plans to sell for years so available capsules on the market could easily spike if a "hype period" occurs. Until then, not expecting much
People say this as if Vale had no interest in selling any attractive stickers anymore. There will be more majors with good designs, Paris might make a profit, but it will be so slow you'd be better off investing into something else. Stockholm was popular because the borderless mouses were unique, that is not the case anymore. @@ptreeNA
I think paris should've been a relatively safe investment if you're willing to flip 50-100% profit in a few months despite the obvious high supply. If copenhagen isn't borderless I don't think anyone will be too mad
Literally EVERYONE was saying not to buy these capsules, if u did u only have yourself to blame, this situation was beyond obvious, people saw big profits with AW and SH and it was sooo so predictable that Paris would be insanely over bought
That is literally a lie. There was no universal strong opinion on paris being a bad investment at the time, but I can imagine you want to be the smart one saying "I told you so". Either way, I'm sure we will be able to sell them with profit eventually, just not anytime soon. They are still good looking stickers, far better than RMR, and Valve will eventually fix CS2 and add new content which means crafting opportunities. Unfortunate news but not a disaster.

You, like everyone else, have failed to include that the pass generates $10. $5 of which goes to the teams for every pass purchased. :(

definitely interesting if that's how the math maths.
so you say all capsuls got buy at 0.25$ lol
I didn't, it's probably somewhere around 800-850 million as 880 million is only capsules purchased at 0.25.
