my mom loved this song.. she had so many issues in her life but when this song came on she'd be quick to say this song was talking about her.. love you mother R.I.P Melissa Ann McEady.
I just lost my Angel, virtually a Week before Mother’s Day and I’m in mf pieces. She cherished this Guy so much I have to myself. Better not joke about him being Gay either. RIHP💐💐💐 Momma I have no Life without you and it’ll never be the same or okay until we are together again, I don’t care where you went. I want in.
This is a testament from someone that grew up in the 80's. It was a beautiful experience that even through Reaganomics, we found peace in listening to great music. I think it's a damn shame that music now is a minstrel show. Crappy intertoy beats under the guise of R&B. It makes me sick. Brothas and sistas 'SANG' and didn't have to oversex themselves as a gimmick to hide how piss poor their talent was. For the kids that post on here that are under 20, I'm impressed LOL
When I listen to music from my young years I enjoy it so much, and can’t help but feel a sense of great loss. I hadn’t realized how blessed I was to grow up in the era. When I look at the world today, the whole Hollywood scene how demonic it is it just breaks my heart.😢😢
This is the kind of R&B that I miss, the real deal. This was and still is my favorite song by Freddie Jackson. I was only 11 when this came out, but man do I remember how popular it was. I don't know anyone that doesn't love this song.
freddie jackson is so great. i'm 63 and got to grow up with all the great soul artists and singers! my husband and i met jerry butler and his wife at o'hare airport-it was a great highlight of our lives-a living legend! i'm just so grateful to you and all the other people who post all these great songs-soul from the past!!!!-nothing like it!! thanks again!!!
Freddie's a true, naturally born singer. Believe it or not, we lived in the same building and on the same floor in Drew Hamilton Projects in Harlem on the 19th floor. This was long before he was a star. We used to talk in the hallway waiting on the elevator. He used to tell me how he'd sing back up for Stevie Wonder and others but I never knew he would go to such heights in the business. Amazing!
Now see.. They dont play music like this no more.. Please listen.. This is music that moves you.. Gets you in the mood, and relaxes you! This what we call.. "Good Grown Folk Music"
I was born in 1982 I grew up hearing these soulful jams on the radio, listening to my parents, aunts, uncles, older cousins, and etc play this, the radio stations, and most of all the old BET Network.
I was 7 year's old when this came out.I remember watching this on Video souls back in the days.this reminds me of my child hood days. I miss music like this.now Iam 35 year's old I still love to listen to this.
I was born in '86, so most of the music I remember is from the 90s. However, I fell in love with this song after hearing it on my GTA IV game. This was real music and when it was about love and not just getting some. Music that respected women. I can honestly say that there is only a handful of good music out nowadays. I'd give anything if music could go back to the way it was back then (60s-90s).
The first time I heard this song was back in 1986. Been a big fan since. Have all his albums and we are friends on Facebook. Out of all his songs this is my favorite with You are my lady coming in second. My friends used to give me a hard time because all I did was listen to Freddie while they listened to Luther Vandross. They are both great singers!!!
@bighld Hey, I am 33 now and I came up during what I call the last of the great 80's. I loved that time in my life. Everything was so light and fresh. I agree with you that there is noooooooo music like this anymore! Your son's generation will never understand what good music is and that is a shame! Teach him Dad, he will catch on
i remember asking WHO IS THIS BROTHA singing on my radio 📻 is it TEDDY PENDERGRASS ? is it LUTHER VANDROSS? is it PEABO BRYSON? oh... its FREDDIE JACKSON the new guy 👦 and he is sho- nuff SINGING ( then i went to his live show ) and the man sounds better live I MEAN HE CAN GO for his.... BADD TO THE BONE singer.!!!
Now this is Real Music...'86 I was a senior in high school. Now I'm 42 yrs old. My 21 yrs old son says ahh mom that is for old heads...yeah but back then we can understand the lyrics "speaking english." This Tre Songz or whatever his name his can't sing....back in the day was romance and respect. I feel sorry for today's (my son's) generation music. No talent in todays music. I miss Freddie Jackson, Teddy Pendegrass, Luther Vandross, Gerald Levert...classy music.
Man, this is one of the Freddie songs that I forgot about. I remember hearing this growing up, and the craze over Freddie. Big ups to Michael Michelle -- New Jack City baby.
I still luv this song! I can't believe its 25 yrs old! I was 4 when this song came out and my mom used to play it all the time back in the day. Us '80s babies grew up on the best music EVER!
The girl in the video is my cousin Michael Michele ,this is her first music video debut ,she ended up becoming an actress who Co starred with Wesley snipes in New jack city ,then did other television shows and movie's ,very proud of Michaels accomplishments, making Evansville Indiana Proud, love you cuz.
I love all of Freddie Jackson's music. Nice n slow romantic. Reminds me of my late husband x28 yrs. Wonderful wonderful great memories! I'll always love you! Muah!
This a good song. This man can SANG! An old classic that I still bump to today. I play this song loud at night when I am in the car on the highway singing to myself.
Playing some Freddie on the CD player in the 80's greatly improved my hit rate with the ladies.......always guaranteed to get the 'knicker gravy' goin', thanks Freddie, forever grateful!!
It doesn't matter who was better; they were all part of a great time in music. Apples are not better than oranges; just different. Praise God for all the good music!
I can teach you how to love again, if you just trust in me......WOW that's so powerful. When you love someone so hard that you want them to LEARN to trust and open up their heart to you.. and see what's waiting on them.....genuine N pure love..often times we Love the ones that wrong us, but push away the ones that would giveus what we truly want.....TO BE LOVED!!! Freddie put it in a nut shell...have you ever loved someone. the way someone loves you...yes I have!!!
wow going back like this makes me sad to see how far music went from a strong feel of deep meaning to not sure what to call it know a days ( noise) lol
freddie is da ideal man for every woman dat has a desire to be loved da way freddie is speaking and singing about. i think ive jus found dat 1 dat appreciates wat love really is.go freddie you will always be da SHIT!
Freddie has great tonality, power and sincerity in his voice. He's definitely got talent. He's one of a kind and I appreciate and respect that in a singer or artist. I believe he's underrated and of course underpaid and ripped off by his record company but what else is new about recording companies that's why they really no longer exist and things like the internet caused them to almost become virtually extinct. It's funny how these record execs can live or sleep at night knowing they stole!
Hi there, thanks for your comments on here and your support all these years, I wouldn’t have come this far if not for fans like you. I really would like to meet with you in my next concert tour. Send me message to my direct gmail address for more information. freddiejackson996@gmail.com

Freddie & Luther were neck & neck for a minute back in the day, Luther just had a lil bit more horsepower I do believe.....
I feel you on that one
They both are amazing so many soulful male artist around that time.
Luther....
i totally agree!!
Luther had a bigger push from the industry. Freddie was more r&b than Luther.
