- A very sad day for me! Yes, you read the title right! I broke my Halo Vortex rim. The dent on the rim was so big that It doesn't hold air anymore.
I couldn't believe that I managed to dent it! I even have a CUSHCORE tire insert in it!
Halo rims are well-known for its strength and durability. It is being used by professional riders like Sam Pilgrim, Matt Jones, and Tom Cardy to name the few. I even saw a video of Sam Pilgrim riding and abusing it without tyres but still not even a dent on it. It's actually the main reason I chose this rim given my skill set of casing every jumps on the trail. HAHAHA
Anyway, I will still use @HaloWheels in the future. I love their rims and hubs! I just hope I could find one that can ship out to New Zealand without me spending so much for the shipping fee. HAHA

I had a brand new nukeproof rim get eaten riding xc, rock nailed the rim obliquely just like that. Nothing to do with quality just bad luck.
This is extremely common with the halo vortex rims.

@@kevinlucasmtb it's one of the weakest rim's I've ever had. I dented mine just like you so easily, it's almost like butter.
Yup I did 2 rears and 1 front the rears had an insert in aswell 😢

Just a note, Those wheels arnt that great, those freerider guys that use them often have very high pressures.
True! I didn't realize that. What do you recommend? I'm actually got cushcore inside of that and was running around 25psi
@@kevinlucasmtb Thats probably not bad, Thats what i run at 95kg on Doubledown maxxis and get the odd ding sound.(no CC)(RF ARC rims) i do trash the odd one but the low pressures are worth it IMO
Can only suggest a stronger rim really, ex511, 471 etc or that new super strong one.
Nukeproof hzn wheels are super good aswell.
