I was a professor at a university when an entire fraternity was accused of violently raping an entire sorority, as reported by the sorority. The fraternity was immediately shut down. Every young man was arrested. Every young man was immediately expelled. The whole thing was a lie dreamed up by the sorority to punish the fraternity for doing something like refusing to attend a party they were throwing. Many of the young men never recovered. Their expulsion meant they lost that entire semester. Some lost scholarships and never got them back. Nothing was ever done to the sorority women and nothing was significantly done to compensate the young men. They were reinstated, but no significant reparations were provided for their losses.

I'm a defense attorney. The system is not just broken, it's DISEASED. There is no political will to change the system because the social mores are trending in one direction and one direction alone. To attempt to reverse it at this point is tantamount to a man trying to keep the tides at bay with a spoon.
Former colleagues of mine, some themselves past public defenders or prosecutors, have told me that women get away with false allegations all the time. It's a dirty secret that few people wish to discuss.
Be careful, all. It will only get worse before it gets better.

How about defining a sex crime. With the crazy world we are now living in, a sex crime could be placing your hand on a lady's knee, a hug, even placing your arm around a lady's should. I have heard all these can be sex crimes. Also, the government should pass laws that a person can not be expelled from school because of an allegation, or stood down from work. The accuser should be widely publicized for making the false allegation and be made to pay compensation. That would stop at least some of the false claims.

In California walking on the same side of a street can be a sex crime if the women felt uncomfortable walking near a man she was not attracted to.

I had a high school teacher who was also the coach for long-distance running (cross-country) coach who was falsely accused. No charges were ever filed, because the accuser was the jealous, drunk father of a former student who had graduated three years before me. His wife had just died two weeks before the allegations were made, and he had two kids not even in junior-high at that time. Needless to say, he lost his job, his reputation was destroyed, and he sold his house and disappeared. To this day (after more than 30 yrs), we don't know where they are.

I was falsely accused by multiple women 4 years ago. 2 separate occasions. I can give some insight into his mind.
My reputation had been so great as a straight-edged, warm, friendly person to everyone, so my managers really believed me and gave me the benefit of the doubt, because they saw me how I was around others for years. One of the women actually did an about face and was extremely guilty and remorseful when she realized she made a mistake. But I still ended up with PTSD due to it happening AGAIN, and by someone I trusted, I got blindsided.
Plus this was literally less than 2 months before the M2 happened, where suddenly the whole world amped up their witch hunting, on social media and real life. They were paranoid and on the lookout for the bogeyman, the hidden S offender, the creep. I would keep hearing serious talk of people being worried for potential victims. The stress of hiding what happened got to me, because I knew no one would understand nuance, they would always have doubts and suspicions. And it's shameful to be labelled such a person, and would make other people uncomfortable, tear the whole workplace apart with people believing me and not. I reached a mental breaking point as the trauma and stress forced me to quit for my own mental health.
The pain, stress, trauma shook me and encapsulated me over the next years. I wanted nothing to remind myself of what happened, so I cut contact with all my friends and co-workers, which I felt guilty of but I had to do it for my sanity. Before I quit, they even parted with "remember, don't be a stranger." I'm sorry. I just can't honour that promise. Even up to last year, at the 3 year anniversary, I would involuntarily be shaken and re-live the trauma of what happened when something reminded me about the workplace. I'd feel a strong desire to step away from the conversation. To hide my face because the emotions would start to well up.
About 4th year anniversary now. I have not been in contact with anybody since. Due to not wanting reminders, and due to not trusting anybody could truly understand, and due to not wanting to burden them with my misery. I either want a complete confession and exoneration, an apology... or to leave me the fuck alone if that's not possible. Pre-trauma, I always wanted to have a public identity, so that I could reach and help people. But now the shame and stigma, and obvious fallout that would result has dampened that idea.
Your person probably does want to reach out to people, but only those he can trust.

I forgot to mention. I suffered severely from trust issues and anger, due to the trauma. Unemployed 3+ years because I couldn't trust anyone in a co-ed place, and because my body and mind was so stressed I lost the function and control and agency I used to have. I would have anxiety attacks often, and have trouble concentrating. Be so exhausted.

I really appreciate the concern and empathy.
I wish for these things to change, I really do. But ever since a year ago I've developed amnesia and cognitive difficulties, due to my existing PTSD compounded by all the lockdown and other political BS going on at the time that massively increased my stress. The division and constant arguments and gaslighting from family broke the camel's back and my ability to remember, think, feel, be present, focus, has been shot since.
People are just free to ruin lives and cause division while being able to move on consequence free.
If I can think and feel again, I'd be angry and want to seek changes like I used to. But now I'm too numb and unintelligent to feel or do much.
I'm only 29 too experiencing all these issues. Medical system hasn't been really helping me, bouncing me around doctors and waiting on appointments. I'm now less than a shell of a man earlier: I'm just like a lower intelligence automaton now as my cognition gets worse.

In Australia, 1991, a sexual predator was active who had abducted young girls. Police and the media called on the public to nominate a suspect and offered a huge reward to pick the right one. 27'000 men were named (including myself) Of these 73 were charged with an offence (not connected to the case) 73 in 27'000 works out to 1 man charged per 370 men named. More details of the case are on wikipedia under Karmein Chan who was one of the abducted girls. The abductions were 30 years ago but just being named still has issues to this day. I had an incident where I told the other person they were too drunk and I wasn’t going to hook up. But I took them home to be nice.. we’ll mistake 1. They kept trying to get sex and kept pushing me on it. They were so drunk and messy but nice.. til they turned on me for squirming out of a hold they put me in to try to get me to do a sex act.. when that didn’t work, they told other people I took advantage and sexually assaulted them. It’s humiliating, I’ve told all I can, I’ve let anxiety take over my mind for it. I’ve spoken to law enforcement my side even (I was first to contact them there’s no cases against me). But this is humiliating and needs enforced. It’s going to get so much worse the way the world is. I’m sure as hell not promoting sexual violent crimes. But something needs done to humiliate these people who make these claims. Luckily I have witnesses to this incident who can testify I was of sound mind and the other person was not. And the bar receipts will show they got tons of liquor and I only had beer and I never bought them any drinks meaning I had no pre motives..

A DA or Judge or Jury is going to wonder especially if its two adults and the story is involved with alcohol.. Why did someone take so long.. There's a good legit reason these have limited statutes of limitations on them.. Those who want to expand these forever are not realizing the consequences of doing so. We will have so many court cases clogging the system especially for civil suits with this stuff now it will be ridiculous.. False reporting of sex crimes and domestic violence are used in Illinois as a matter of course... no evidence required.
My 1st ex tried alleging sexual misconduct with my oldest daughter while being 1400 miles away in the Army, with no visitation and not seeing my daughter for 6 years.
Come to find out that my daughter was molested by 4 people in 3 states while in her custody and the courts/DCFS both refused to inform me of it.
I went to jail for being unemployed and not being able to pay child support.
My 1st ex has owed me child support for about 30 years, has 2 specific court orders against her about this, and has never seen a jail cell.
I caught my 2nd ex on the phone telling her friend that I had hit her.
At the time, I could not physically move my arms above my waste because of back and neck issues.
Later she falsely alleged sexual misconduct with my youngest daughter to gain custody.
    Again, no evidence needed.
IL is very bad about that.

What's unique about sex crimes is that the reluctance of real victims to report increases the proportion of reported cases that are false.
