Nice comparison - I have an SX50 and love it. You saved me the hassle of getting an SX60 as the zoom comparisons you so insightful made show me that the difference in zoom is not worth the extra $$ (IMHO). Thank you again for posting this ~
I love huge zoom, got myself an Sx 50 and I love it but sometimes the huge zoom it's crap because of the athmosphere...I see no much point in going further in zoom. Anyway, can't help myself...love bog zooms :D
And you must know, the Autofokus is much slower on the SX50,Dealbreaker for me! Only the SX50-Image is a littel bit better, thats all! SX60 record in 30/60 fps and not 23/24fps like the SX50 ! The display and the viewfinder on the SX60 is much better (2x More pixels)! And you hear no noise when you zooming with the SX60,thats awesome!
Thanks for clarifying. Since I already own SX50 HS, I don't see justification spending another $400. Look into Canon Hack Development Kit... I use it in mine, and it works just fine. Another thing that bugs me is the same size sensor, albeit more pixels, being fixed with supposed newer software, instead of getting bigger sensor. 60fps HD is a nice touch, but nothing special these days. As 2015 being just around the corner, I see no point getting another variant of the same old technology. They will have to come up with something very special now, impressing me enough, to buy another camera.

Hi, can you tell me with the sx60 when you take photos while doing a video can you tell on the videos playback like with the sx50 where you had a black frame in the video and could hear shutter? thanks
Thank u so much , I m thinking to get the 50 , as long it can zoom in my face I m happy lol. I want to do makeup videos on UA-cam and I have the baby camera that it's horrible for that , so I m doing some videos on my cell phone , but it's not enough storage to do so . So is very frustrating . But I also want to do hair tutorial and makeup and those tutorial will be longer than my nails tutorial for sure :) I m looking for a good camera for about 6 month ago , cuz I want something that not cost so much money or that it's not bad deal . So I m so tired to look for a good one with a good price too . And thank u so much to answer me right way , I appreciate so much ;)
K, I'm confused. At the beginning it showed the 50 on the right and 60 on the left, but after when you did zoom comparison you said the 50 was on the left and 60 was on the right. And I know the second zoom test ( 1:07 ) that the 50 was that because of how loud the zoom was (This bugs me on my SX50) That being said, Should I upgrade my SX50 HS to the SX60, seeing that (it was quieter for zooming) it has 16 megapixels. Is there really a quality difference? Couldn't tell to much by the video.
+mason methot I personally would not upgrade to the sx60. My thoughts: its bigger, more expensive adds some features. but quality of image and slightly extra zoom isn't quite worth it.
do you know if i could get a good depth of field with this? as in id just vlog and the background would be blurry? like id sit in front of the camera and just talk and have a blurry background sorta like a dslr?and how will i do it?
***** The video quality should be the same on both, 1920 x 1080. The sx60 has more features and is a little bit better in most categories but cost quite a bit more.

Wow! I just got one can’t wait to take pics

yo tengo la Canon SX 50 y viendo este video, he llegado a la conclusion de que no hay mucha diferencia entre ellas.

Thank you for watching. I also use CHDK on my sx50 and its great thing to have.
I love watching this video , zoom and macro of sx50 is great , but zoom of sx60 is better. Thanks!
Yeah. Thanks for watching.
Nice...good jobs..

I bought the SX60 over the SX50 for the cheaper deal up here in Canada. You'd expect it to be the other way around. The difference was ~$35

OutdoorWild Ok. I would get the SX60 because it is bigger and has better features and all. But the price is just too much for me.
Is it swiss@@OutdoorAdventuresMT

any tips?
Ou avez vous achetez le trépied
Don't use the digital zoom! There really isn't much of a difference between the two. I think the SX60 also gets a bit wider though.
Yeah the numbers sound bigger than the actual zoom. You can really see the difference in my other video.
Low light shoot samples please!
Hi! Can you tell me if its possible to shoot in Full-HD 60p? This would be very important for me.
+Aviation Spotting Frankfurt yes it is possible in Nikon P900 ( Full HD, 50p) and Canon SX60 HS (Full HD 60p)
thanks
Which has better video quality? Looking to replace my sx40 with one of these and I do a lot of film along with pictures.
***** The video quality should be the same on both, 1920 x 1080. The sx60 has more features and is a little bit better in most categories but cost quite a bit more.
I think the sx50 is slightly better for image quality.
so should I get the 50 or the 60 .. I dodnt know
Karla Butterfly I would not get the SX60 strictly for zoom capability. It all depends if the other features are worth the additional $100 or so.
Thank u so much ;)
+Karla Butterfly Go for SX60HS, as it has 16 mpx sensor (as against 12 mpx of SX50HS) & DIGIC 6 processor compared to DIGIC 5 of SX50HS.
This video is not useful because you are using digital zoom, please do comparison again but with using analog zoom only.
although the zoom is 65x and 50x i think the quality is the same
price???
👌
