CANTUS: In Paradisum by Z. Randall Stroope

A year into the pandemic, we wanted to take a moment to remember the lives lost to COVID-19.
This performance of Z. Randall Stroope’s ‘In Paradisum’ comes from our January 2021, LIVE recording session at the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts. Dr. Stroope transcribed this version of the work with Cantus in mind, and we are honored to offer it to you now.
From the composer:
"During the Covid-19 pandemic, like others, I felt helpless and full of unanswered questions. Most of all, I was profoundly sad for the thousands of families who lost a mother, a father, a grandparent, a child - or a friend. I wrote this work as a gift to honor those who lost their lives in this pandemic. May this smallest of contributions bring some comfort to those left behind.”
