    @6:35 it's the v4 mobula 7 frame IIRC, the v2 was the thin and weak but ultralight one with asymmetrical struts, v3 was the heavyduty 2s one with thicker struts, v4 was a redesign for the moblite7. What was the v1?

      @@NickBurnsFPV I did some research and the V1 frame was just the Bwhoop75 and it looked exactly like the V2 frame except it was notoriously brittle and the Bwhoop75 V2 was the improved plastic formula. I have a v2 frame that's about 2 years old in regular use and only needs some Welders glue occasionally.

Waiting for improvements in VTX's and goggles in HDZero before I buy or build a Mobula7HDZ whoop. Mr. Shutterbug has built a very light 65mm HDZero whoop with custom superlight HDZero cam.

    It’s great that there are so many flavors. I personally prefer 65mm with low kV motors when indoors because at my skill level the reduced speed & momentum are much more fun. Outdoors, 85mm 2S. I’m looking forward to those options with digital!

    I didn't stop by to argue with ya don't worry. Just wanted to throw something out there, since you mentioned whoops and naked vistas. I bought a RTF DJI Megabee two x-mas ago, that came with the full air unit, I liked it but even back then, it was one of the biggest cinewhoops on the market, and it was heavy and clunky. Took prop guards off, and put 3.5" props on and flew it that way for a while then shelved it. Recently dusted it off, and rebuilt it. upgraded from stock 1404s to 1507s, got lighter weight 3d printed prop guards, an AIO board, with a naked vista. So basically lighter with better motors, I threw emu flight on for the hell of it, 1st time using, and the whole set up flew like a friggin dream, on stock Emu pids. it really is a whole new quad,
    One problem, naked vista was overheating like crazy, even on a cold day, 100mW, if I didn't take off within 20sec, overheat warnings. I'm thinking with old school ducts of the megabee encapsulating the hardware, not enough air. So, just to see if it would work, I just re-installed the 2 inner heatsinks on the vista, and left the top and bottom ones off. Obviously it added half the weight originally saved, but oddly enough the form factor at half naked, is much closer to full naked, than to a full vista. Anyway, haven't had a single overheat since, and it was 70 here in St Louis yesterday, and it still flies great. Sorry for the old man ramble, but wanted to share that with you, always good to have another option when building.

    You have your faves, we got ours. I'm still flying an LDARC ET100 V2, the all-time King of Whoops. It's running JMaverick ESC firmware, BetaFlight 4.2.9, and I've made some serious mods to its build. I use it in a small apartment in Angle mode, and I think I've tweaked it so it's one of the best-handling examples of its type. Damn well should be after all the time I've put into it. LDARC recently stopped making them, which kinda sucks. It's a chonky unit, but it handles like a 75mm thanks to the mods I made to its hoops. The only downside is the stock VTX - it's adequate for my tiny space, but hopeless outside. I'll get around to dealing with that some day. . .

    If you don't mind me asking, how have you mounted the Runcam nano 3 inside the crux 3 canopy? I've also noticed the jello when flying outside and I'd really like to have four points of contact, but the only canopy available for me with four points of contact is the crux 3 canopy. I know the Runcam nano 3 is 14mm wide and the crux 3 canopy is meant to fit a 14mm camera, but with the adapter for screw holes on the side makes it 18mm wide, so I'm wondering how it could be mounted.

    • @NickBurnsFPV
      @NickBurnsFPV  2 роки тому

      It mounts up pretty natively. typically the runcam nano 3 has a plastic piece that goes around it to mount to the camera and has screw holes on the sides. This mounting piece is in the top right of this image. m.media-amazon.com/images/I/616cueFVx+L._AC_SL1100_.jpg

      2s whoops are kinda rare over the last 3 years. Most whoops are using an all in one board with the receiver in the board and surprisingly we haven’t seen spektrum on these boards. I am not aware of anything current in the bnf for spektrum. I suspect we might have to add our own receiver to a whoop. Which should be doable if the receiver can use 5 volts

I'm now wondering if I should try to reuse that hardware with a Mobula 7 frsky OR consider ELRS and maybe hdzero too!?? A lot more money I guess I need special goggles and new transmitter but would it be worth it to get the best experience possible flying 1S indoors? If YES then what goggles and transmitter can you recommend? I'm from Denmark and the latest hardware is super limited and I'll get slammed by import taxes trying to order anything outside of EU. • @NickBurnsFPV

      My love comes largely from my desire to fly when ever I want. With a whoop I can always fly inside regardless of weather and in comfort. Its pretty rare I fly whoops outside other than for review purposes. The agility and performance of non whoops outside is what I desire outside. The prop wash handling is better on open prop as well. Whoops have the air resistance of the prop protection, I feel that decreases the ability to do what I want to when I am outside.
