I didn't stop by to argue with ya don't worry. Just wanted to throw something out there, since you mentioned whoops and naked vistas. I bought a RTF DJI Megabee two x-mas ago, that came with the full air unit, I liked it but even back then, it was one of the biggest cinewhoops on the market, and it was heavy and clunky. Took prop guards off, and put 3.5" props on and flew it that way for a while then shelved it. Recently dusted it off, and rebuilt it. upgraded from stock 1404s to 1507s, got lighter weight 3d printed prop guards, an AIO board, with a naked vista. So basically lighter with better motors, I threw emu flight on for the hell of it, 1st time using, and the whole set up flew like a friggin dream, on stock Emu pids. it really is a whole new quad, One problem, naked vista was overheating like crazy, even on a cold day, 100mW, if I didn't take off within 20sec, overheat warnings. I'm thinking with old school ducts of the megabee encapsulating the hardware, not enough air. So, just to see if it would work, I just re-installed the 2 inner heatsinks on the vista, and left the top and bottom ones off. Obviously it added half the weight originally saved, but oddly enough the form factor at half naked, is much closer to full naked, than to a full vista. Anyway, haven't had a single overheat since, and it was 70 here in St Louis yesterday, and it still flies great. Sorry for the old man ramble, but wanted to share that with you, always good to have another option when building.

I, too like the Mobulas. I converted my Mob 6 hd to the 75mm frame (following your video that covered the conversion). After breaking the Mobula 7 v2 frame beyond repair, I switched to the meteor 75 frame, and It has performed well for me. Lots of crashes with no breakage. Keep up the fantastic content, Nick!
Great work as always. I am wondering why the GepRc CineEye/Thinking P16/TinyGo didn't get more love from pilots? It is an incredible flyer, very durable, and is indoor/outdoor. Maybe it was the price point?
6th flight on my Cinelog 25 and a motor/board goes bad. I replace the motor and take it up a couple feet and boom, drops to the ground. Now I have to decide weather to replace all 4 motors with the newer ones they're using now and the board or just buy a whole new quad. This hobby maybe out of my $ range. Beautiful quad by the way.
I' m not surprised not to see the UZ65, although it's been my favorite since it's release: too bad no reviewer digged into this whoop that only needs good pid tunning to give fantastic flights. On top of this, the frame is only the best out there, light, strong, and with a tight battery tray.

@@NickBurnsFPV oke. No they had a US and DE edition in 1s and then the new one on 2s also in US and DE edition. I don't know about the board configuration I never owned one i just look to much on the banggood app :)

I only have 5" quads. I was wondering of you could give me some recommendations. I understand everything is a preference and people are/can be particular. I am new to whoops, never flown a whoop, except in a sim. Could you recommend one? I had three in mind (subject to availability) GEPRC thinking P16/GEPRC Rocket Plus/ iFlight Alpha A75/85/ TransTECH BEETLE. Just a general recommendation would be appreciated. Anyone other opinions or suggestion are also welcome. I would like to have a good first whoop experience.
Thank you. I suggest checking out Dax Neal's web ship. the Mobigital is likely the most indoor friendly dji whoop. Its a custom build that one could do. I have a video on it here, where I did build it myself. ua-cam.com/video/nSFaUcNsvL4/v-deo.html
I'm new to tiny whoops but I really want to get into it!!! Can I ask anyone reading this for some buying advice... I used to fly years ago and got cheap entry level gear, Frsky FS-i6X transmitter and Eachine EV800 goggles for 4S outdoor flying. I'm now wondering if I should try to reuse that hardware with a Mobula 7 frsky OR consider ELRS and maybe hdzero too!?? A lot more money I guess I need special goggles and new transmitter but would it be worth it to get the best experience possible flying 1S indoors? If YES then what goggles and transmitter can you recommend? I'm from Denmark and the latest hardware is super limited and I'll get slammed by import taxes trying to order anything outside of EU. But I have a week in the States in November so I can potentially bring everything back with me. Somebody heeelp :D
The ev800 goggles are still used by many today. It will be a bit harder to find a whoop with a flysky receiver. Might need to get a different transmitter/radio.
Yes, That one was about 2 years go. I believe it came originally with the nano camera that had odd halo effects outside in bright sun, but the later versions of that same camera were better. This is the video of my review with the original camera ua-cam.com/video/M_jsGkzkXEg/v-deo.html
My love comes largely from my desire to fly when ever I want. With a whoop I can always fly inside regardless of weather and in comfort. Its pretty rare I fly whoops outside other than for review purposes. The agility and performance of non whoops outside is what I desire outside. The prop wash handling is better on open prop as well. Whoops have the air resistance of the prop protection, I feel that decreases the ability to do what I want to when I am outside.
Nice review.. I am a whoop flyer to.. Q.. I fly my mobula7 battery to low it fell about 3feet from the ground.. and lost bind.. rebinds but power cycle.. and it unbinds.. any ideas?Thanks..
Hi NB, how do you clean your fc ?? Do you use isopropyl alcohol 99% ?? Pressurize air in can ?? thanks for advice ... Last question, the props of my mobula 6 are really hard to remove, how do you proceed ?
If the fc or components are dirty and not wet I use air, if it was wet in some way I use 99% alcohol. If it got wet while battery plugged in we might have damage or burned components. to remove props I hold the motor bell with one hand and with the other pinch the hub of the prop, twist back and forth and pull. I don't use tools to remove props, to much of a probability of bending a motor shaft.
As a guy that likes to just cruise around his house and slowly fly, what would you recommend for a tiny whoop for us " non racers"? I know that you said to get the 19,000 kv motors but is there a specific whoop you'd say does better going slow than the others?
The main challenge flying inside is throttle control. We can use a motor reduction to make the throttle less responsive. To fly slow lower the camera angle as well. Camera angle naturally slows us down as our eye like to focus on the center of the screen
Hey Nick... I was wondering... I just got the new ELRS Mobula6 with the new 0802 motors. Was wondering... I have the first version with the 0702 motors and was thinking... put the new version on a 75mm frame and then update the v1 elrs mobula6 to newer firmware and use them both with my new betafpv 1w Module. What are your thoughts??? I would have both a 65mm and a 75mm without having to spend the extra cash on the new mobula7 right now. Would the new elrs mobula6 aio handle the 75mm frame? Thanks.
0802 handles 40mm props just fine, no worries, the tune may need a touch of a tweak but not everyone feels that way. The mobula 6 with spi elrs will require a pid tune as updating elrs is tied to flashing betaflight. take a cli backup or screen shot of the pid tune/setup which can be useful after flashing.
I have not flown those. From the design I see some issue with the tron80 having a stable fpv image and the prop prop protection looks fragile. The 95x is pretty big for indoor flight so it’s likely just outdoor only unless the indoor space is very large/industrial
Banggood is quickly growing into a place to avoid for me. Got my Mobula 7 1s ELRS in the EU. Tried banggood first, after they pushed out their shipping date for a whole month, I cancelled and ordered from a shop in France... Similar thing happened when I went to buy my Mobula 6
maybe something like this. It allows us not to spend much, easier to fly and can be modded to start fpv on the cheap as well. ua-cam.com/video/v4yKI6tl_Po/v-deo.html
@@NickBurnsFPV it seems to happen when I try to stop on a downward movement. Or trying to gain altitude I'll see some vibration in the video. It's definitely noticeable
@@MrSabram07 Depending on the tune and the size/weight of the battery it could be unavoidable if we are flying into the quads own air, we often refer to that air as dirty air. Think of flying down into air that has already gone through the props. This is especially challenging for the quad to handle, we often just need to avoid it or get the pid tune super precise. If you diagnose a flight when we see the prop wash, is the quad level or near level and we are descending or working against the dirty air?
@@NickBurnsFPV well first let me say this thanks for answering my comment. But it just seems like taking off from just the ground it is wobbly. Better than what quad? These are all whoops were the firefly isn't really as it has prop guards and going to be very challenging to flying inside a typical house.

Wow. Cool. Nick Burns always on the inside track.
*v4 mobula7 frame, I got a spare one in the mail yesterday, be prepared right?
Great work as always. I am wondering why the GepRc CineEye/Thinking P16/TinyGo didn't get more love from pilots? It is an incredible flyer, very durable, and is indoor/outdoor. Maybe it was the price point?
For inside flight they just aren't as good of a performer and in many cases designed for slower flight or incredibly noisy inside
Sounds like the esc might be damaging motors. Could need both. Sorry this is bringing pains
@@NickBurnsFPV Yes I tested the ESC with a meter and it showing that it's bad. Thanks Nick.
I' m not surprised not to see the UZ65, although it's been my favorite since it's release: too bad no reviewer digged into this whoop that only needs good pid tunning to give fantastic flights. On top of this, the frame is only the best out there, light, strong, and with a tight battery tray.
I like my UZ65 but many people don't like the way it flies. I broke a couple of frames, wouldn't say it's the best.

I have only seen a couple complaints about this issue, but haven't seen the fix.
And thanks for the great content as usual
I am not aware of a fix. I was told this was a hardware issue that was resolved at the manufacturer. The best thing to do it land and get a fresh battery before it gets to 3v. Battery voltage below 3.4v is damaging the battery health

That HD zero whoop canopy would attach at the extra point on the mob7 v4 frame right? There is an extra support and screw terminal for it...
It should, but I have not done a dry fit, the height of the stack might not connect the canopy to the frame.

Mobula 6,7 or the tinyhawk 2? Or what would you choose for fast fun indoor flight? As I share the same style of flight as you do! Thanks ahead!!
I prefer 75mm, for performance and size inside. With that of those I would chose the mob7 1s elrs
For your 65mm whoops, have you converted them to Bi-blade props yet? I like how my Mob6 ELRS flies on Bi-blades and converted my others to Bi-blades.
I have flown many whoops with biblades. I prefer tri blades, likely do to my heavy cornering flight style.

I’ve been over working on my new channel organic clean food connection for the last three years. Out of the loop :-) But things really haven’t changed. sure, likely require some tuning.
It seems like meteor65 *was* more durable; however, they've changed the secret recipe recently. Probably because of a recent rise in plastic prices. It became more fragile. I've got the old version and it's indestructible still.

what FC would you recommend for a TKS 2S 2inches micro drone? I built one on a 5A board and it fried (?) after the second crash (one motor twitching, I guess that means ESC broken). I would like to build that again because I loved the feel, but I'm afraid of burning an FC per week. I would love to hear your recommendations.
I would look the happymodel x12 or the flywoo f405. The flywoo board requires soldering and comes in two flavors, one without a vtx and one with....5in1 vs 4in1.

Hi nick great video man, could you help me I'm trying to find a 2s whoop that will work on my dx9 spectrum, any suggestions? Thanks alot nick
2s whoops are kinda rare over the last 3 years. Most whoops are using an all in one board with the receiver in the board and surprisingly we haven’t seen spektrum on these boards. I am not aware of anything current in the bnf for spektrum. I suspect we might have to add our own receiver to a whoop. Which should be doable if the receiver can use 5 volts

Hi Nick, I love the channel and your reviews. You've since become one of my "go to" FPV channels. I'm looking for a tiny whoop (for the house/indoors) that I can use with my DJI system.
@@NickBurnsFPV A sincere Thank-you.
Have you seen the GEPRC Thinking HD?
Yes, That one was about 2 years go. I believe it came originally with the nano camera that had odd halo effects outside in bright sun, but the later versions of that same camera were better. This is the video of my review with the original camera ua-cam.com/video/M_jsGkzkXEg/v-deo.html

New coming whoop at 1:46 ? 😏

@@NickBurnsFPV However I hope this FC will be released 👌
Hey Nick, what are your reasons for loving whoops? How do they fly in comparisons to regular X-Frames without prop guards? Thanks!
@@NickBurnsFPV thanks!

Nice review.. I am a whoop flyer to.. Q.. I fly my mobula7 battery to low it fell about 3feet from the ground.. and lost bind.. rebinds but power cycle.. and it unbinds.. any ideas?Thanks..
We need to avoid the battery going below 3volts. This is also not good for battery health
This doesn’t happen on all whoops the first batch or so of the mobula6 has this issue. It’s a hardware fix that the manufacturer had to fix
My transmitter is jumper tlite with elrs on the back. just really miss having a lanyard looked everywhere any solutions out there anyone know about?
Mobula 6 one of my favorites

@@NickBurnsFPV you mean a throttle reduction in beta flight or whatever program the whoop is using.
Thank you for the quick reply!

@@NickBurnsFPV Thank you sir. Do you think the mobula7 pid tune would work with the the frame upgrade?

yea, the prop protection doesn't take much abuse.
Have you flown the Beta95x V3 or Tmotor Tron80? If so how do they compare to the iFlight C85 HD for acro?
I have not flown those. From the design I see some issue with the tron80 having a stable fpv image and the prop prop protection looks fragile. The 95x is pretty big for indoor flight so it’s likely just outdoor only unless the indoor space is very large/industrial

It’s a pretty good kit. The downside is we can’t use that radio on other quads. The receiver and protocol is geprc proprietary.
@@NickBurnsFPV OK I appreciate it!
Any suggestions for a 9 year old to get them started? Something a little easier to fly?

Not unique in terms of proprietary. I believe we do need to bind at 250hz though
How did you get ELRS on the moblite? Is it just a simple modification to the board?
No, that was a prototype of the mobeetle6
Did you have to do anything with the tune on your Cinelog 25? Mine seems to have lots of prop wash or woble.
no, I run stock tune. Is your prop wash or wobble when you descend or on turns?
The 75mm Mobula7 1s can be used with 300mah batteries?
The flight will be very short and the battery will need to be secured as it won't stay in the battery tray
Is it ok to use crossfire on a tinywhoop for race?
yea, but it adds weight with an external rx, which puts the quad at a disadvantage.
What do you think about flywoo firefly? is it better?
Better than what quad? These are all whoops were the firefly isn't really as it has prop guards and going to be very challenging to flying inside a typical house.
Just bought a mobula 7 1s hd spi elrs. I bought 650mah's. It flies 4 minutes. should I have bought 450's?
It depends what you want out of the flights. More aggressive or agile flights need lower weight, longer smoother flights generally more.
