Demus affronta con il tocco da maestro sensibile questi splendidi pezzi tra cui son racchiuse gemme di gran splendore anche se non evidenti al primo ascolto...

Dear Viewers: If you type Prof. Janette Fishell plays Schumann and Dudley Buck, there is a very splendid arrangement for organ just as nice. Greetings Canada.
Did he just figure out how to play the pedal part with his two hands, or is there a known published solo version of this? Thanks, if you see this three years from "now" I'd still like to know.
I think it's a private transcription, like how Anderszewski plays it. www.andres.com/works/six-canonic-etudes-op-56/ This chap has a great transcription for solo piano.
Yes, Glendon Frank is correct-- I am quite sure he is playing this on an actual pedal piano. Listen for the very low C notes in bass. An octave lower than heard in the famous and beautifully effective 2 piano transcription by Debussy. This original version on Pedalfluegel is exceptionally gorgeous and effective, just Schumann intended it! This is such a wonderful testament to the late great artist Jorg Demus. The tempi are for me perfectly suited to each of the individual characters and tempi of all six pieces.
Une œuvre magnifique, malheureusement peu connue. Tout Schumann est là, il se confie à nous...
I can't stop listening to this.

Very few people are aware of this being the best Schumann ever wrote, and by far
i always feel pleasure and comfort while listening to your Schumann. Thank you for playing this beautiful piece.
R.I.P
I have his complete Schumann recordings. I like him. Sometimes it's a little "dry", sometimes it's sublime, as it is here.
after listening to several recordings on youtube finally someone who understands how to play the canon in b minor. Very beautiful!

Listening to this recording, and to his early WTC recording, I can't help thinking that JD had has many ears as he had fingers.

Pedalflügel ... we had a piano with separate pedal like an organ in a practice room in Berlin when I was a student.
