That looks awesome! Not sure about hiking up with the kids though, they might not be ready for that. We need to find a place closer to us here in Leipzig to go sledding (once we get some snow anyway!).
There are a few sledding routes in Bavaria that are accessible via gondola. We might try one out before the winter is finished. We have been getting enough snow in the mountains haha. Sending snow vibes your way.
It looks fun, but also very dangerous in early parts without any side rails. After seeing this video my wife said we will try this once the kids get somewhere in life, just in case 😉.
Hahaha, yes that is definitively true. It was especially scary, because after the sun set, the track iced up, and became significantly more slick. We even saw a sledge that had careened off the side of the hill. :O You have to be careful. :)
Ooh. I've hiked there last summer (incredibly dull stretch of hiking, that bit up to the alm, not specifically recommended), and did wonder what those lights were all about ... guess they do stuff like this. Pretty neat idea.
I actually had the same experience with a friend in the summer as well. We had lunch at the Alm, which is how i discovered the winter sledding. The hike to the peak above the alm and back towards Scliersee is much prettier tho. :)
Whoo you got a sponsor! Although I guess that probably doesn't even cover the cost of your gear at this point. But it's nice if you start getting something back for your work! Congratulations! Also, sledding in the mountains isn't something I've ever done as a Munich native yet. Gotta do that soon. One last question: are you guys able to ski? That's another cool way to discover mountains. You cover ground so fast!
Hahah somebody gets it! Fortunately the sponsorship and the ad revenue we are now making is enough to cover a lot of editing fees and weekly Bayern tickets. Hopefully we will be able to slowly but surely be able to cover more! We have never skied before. After three years of living in Bavaria, I'm beginning to think that we should stop resisting and just learn. hahah It would probably make good YT content as well. :)
Thank you so much for all the information! I was very concerned about the hike up and the lack of guard rails and its good to know what to expect before making a trip! Thank you for all your efforts!
You are very welcome! I was really nervous myself too, especially at first, which really inspired me to push and make this video. I want to give you guys the information I wish I had :) Since making the video I’ve also gone back and done it a second time, which I loved even more. The first time it took us 18 minutes to slide down, and the second time it only took 11.
If you really like sledding. I would recommend you to go to Austria. Where there are a few of the best slopes not far across the border. And if you want to learn the proper technique i know quite a few locals in your area that i think can help you out. Or I can personally help you out but I live in the Netherlands so not around the corner. But in with I’m usually in the area for a week and can help you to learn the basics and have a couple of beers.
Well, as Hamilton also knew: the one who push the brakes will loose :-D Hey, what do you expect living in a part of Germany where kids growing up with their first language is bavarian. Did you also ask if they would speak english ? :-D Good to see you had lot of fun.
Definitely on the bucket list! Thanks you two!
Awesome! Hope you have a wonderful time!
Whoa! That looks like fun! Lovely video. Man, I'm jealous... 😎💪 Sehr schön! Gut gemacht!
Danke! :D
Really nice guys! I just love this video!
Thanks so much! :D
Awesome video! That looks like so much fun. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much! :)

They are intense. :O
We try our best to speak German in every interaction.
@@NearFromHome I am convinced you do but talking to a bavarian living deep in the bush they cant understand as long as you dont speak bavarian :-D
@@howierfs5471 Oh yes, that is 100% true. It's a whole other language :) We have no chance lol
What is 'sledging'?
Ikr. He’s ruined the whole video 😫
@@NearFromHome It's a British thing
