Did your crew cut Erkers when you were in Roggen? If so you might not remember or saw, but I was working on our family farm across the valley from you on the opposite hill to the East. It was 1 Combine and 1 Grain Cart the Tractor was an 8410t. We ended about 3 in the afternoon when that small storm moved in that mainly brought a lot of wind. Hope to see yall again this year!
very cool video im curious to you guys contract the harvest of the fields with there owners or do you guys own all of the fields throughout the country?
ok but i dont look to a job . I have have one . I have written just to have most information about the farm because she is for me amizing .Thank you to the message , and again congrulation for your employement and your farm . Bye and see you soon
Do all of the company employees work full time year round.....or just mainly during the various harvesting seasons.....and does a typical harvesting employee make a pretty decent wage.....whats the normal timeframe for when the company is on the road traveling for all the various farms the company supports.....and what are the typical size of the farms throughout the Midwest that you harvest the various crops
For our business our employees only work seasonal which is May through November. During the summer wheat harvest normally there are six guys that work for us and then when the fall harvest we add some more people to the operation since it takes so many more people to make our fall harvest work. Typical size varies anywhere from 1000 to 6000 acres.
Thank you and glad you enjoyed it! 2015 harvest video is still in the works since I've been busy lately but hopefully it will be finished sometime soon!
Lets say you got 1500 acres. 1. None of its ready until one day, its all ready. and you have 1 combine! 2. All year you get by with a crew of 3 but in harvest you need closer to 10. 3. your not willing/able to do the work. 4. investment property by some city folk 5. Only a little of specialty crop, requiring special equipment i.e headers, augers, grain dryers.
TheCDNkindaguy very true, we only harvest ourself because my dad wants me too learn so he car retire in 10 years, plus he hates combining, so hes glad too let me do it lol
Farmers hire the Custom Harvester because it is more cost effective for them. There are a number of businesses like us that have multiple machines and for example on avg if a company has three combines and depending on the yield they could cover roughly 400 acres a day where only one combine might cover 100 acres. Equipment prices are outrageous so it doesn't pencil out for a farmer that has 1500 acres to own a combine and possibly two headers depending on what crops they grow.
It is a great video. I'm from Czech Republic. It is a pleasure to watch your work. Sometimes I'd like to see you real. !!! great work !!
