@@TrailAtlas I liked it a lot, good to have another trail that isn't just smooth and berms...I couldn't work out how to carry enough speed out of the turn to clear the double, but with a bit of practice I think it'll be a great addition
@@godownhillandgosplat I'm looking forward to seeing how the trail develops with a bit of rain, I think it's going to get better with wear. Hmm, I think taking the rocky high-line before the jumps allows you to carry a lot more speed. It's not as scary as it looks!
I had a run down Whā Out yesterday (In strong wind) and it seemed oddly sheltered considering it was on the top of the ridge. (The uphill section seemed to be the most notably exposed) What I did find was the 1st section wanting me to fly off track onto the road with that 45deg turn immediately at the bottom of the 1st dropoff. 00:09 " "Wooh ! " Perhaps if they aimed the drop along the track instead of sideways we won't see anyone faceplant on Snake Charmer. I love this quirky little track... In fact it looks like a run down Zac's Track can be ended at the hairpin on the 1st fire break, then a ride down Snake charmer, and re-join Whā Out for the lower section, instead of the boring bottom section of Zac's.
@@simonspeirs9529 That's a terrible place to stop. I've come across a few beginner riders recently waiting on their bikes just after a blind corner. Maybe we need some MTB etiquette education on welly tracks?
@@TrailAtlas Your next video. Don't forget all the people that stop in the exit to Smokin' and Starfish (on Snake Charmer)... and at the top of starfish in the runout at the bottom of Peak Flow. (Youe watch them run out of the end of a track. Stop immediately and start chatting to their mates... even giving riders a dirty look when they ride out around them and on through the next section.... The exit of Peak Flow can be really fast specially if you wall ride the exit.. only to find someone in the middle of the entry to starfish fiddling with their goggles/camera.
1:45 who designs uphill sections on a G4 when it appears they could have just run round it... Just like the Pol Hill Rollercoaster, where if you sit and watch... most riders pull out at the uphill section and return up the track... again they could easily have turned right and skirted round it keeping the flow. Same goes for Peak Flow... you rid all the way to the top.. have a little rest, then loose that riding up the top section. Perhaps they could look at some B-Lines for these tracks.. for those who want to ride "Down Hill". Apart from that.. looks neat.. and gives an alternate to Zack's if your headed to T4 or Vertigo
Thanks for posting this, I am about to go ride it with my mates, so its good to see what's in store...
No worries! What did you think of the trail?

I rode Whā Out the day after it opened and then again yesterday. In 4 days it has bedded in heaps and exposed a lot more rock
That guy is lucky he didn't get mowed down! What's he doing standing on the trail like that?
I'm not sure, he was out of the way but probably not the best place to stop.
That same guy (at least I swear it was him) was stopped on north face on a blind corner the other day - idiot.
