Honestly, the biggest advantage of the Deck is not being forced to use Windows or MacOS. Both OSes drive me insane, the ad-less interface of Linux is all the peace I need.
If you own a tablet you can use it as an external touch screen monitor for the deck with SuperDisplay, which makes it a great travel PC with stuff that you're probably carrying with you anyway. I'd love to see a comparison of power usage between the the mac and a SteamDeck, I'm considering which one to get to use as a power efficient 24/7 server

Mac is obviously going to win, but that's pretty cool that the Steamdeck can even do it!!
