85 year old Eden Ahbez leaving a message on my machine. Talks about issues of the times. He was my good friend and spiritual teacher. For more info, go to shadowboxstudio...
@@noertdk9228 Why would you even quesion her? Because she used Caps?? The priginal poster, who was his dear friend, and whose machine you're listening to here, spelled it with Caps too. It was Mr. Ahbez' choice to use lower case, doesn't mean if you don't use lower case, you are a phony.
Joe, Thanks so much for sharing this message from Eden. This recording, plus what I've gleaned from googling his name, has given me much insight about this amazing, gentle man. The song on wrote which Nat King Cole wrote is one-of-a-kind, a song which I must have first heard on my parents' radio in 1948 when I was three. It imprinted upon me, and I've still moved by this song. Thanks again!
I found it much harder to hear and understand Eden Ahbez in this version, versus the one you had on your website about 10 years ago. That one was incredible.
Hey Joe, what you've put together here really works. Thanks. It strikes me that people seem to overlook the fact that David Bowie also did a very good version of 'Nature Boy.' I've just discovered Eden from a random FB post and his story is fascinating! There's got to be a movie script in there surely! Thanks again for the above.
Thank you for sharing this. I went to school with eden's son, Zoma who was a very strange enchanted boy, brilliant and way ahead of all of us. Unfortunately Zoma died when he was only 17.
I was in the Paris Metro yesterday and a man was singing "Nature Boy." So long agoI remember that song. I wanted to stop and share my voice with his for a song of great beauty that few probably remember.
I just discovered Eden Ahbez 5 days ago and I’m an instant fan. Thank you for uploading this, very inspirational, this is the fire we must keep always burning in our hearts and pass it on to the new generations. I loved your music track 🤲🏻 Whats the name of the song? Thanks again
now here's a man to tun the river with. only 8 minute phone message i've ever gotten was from ramblin jack, & i will ask him soon if he knew this fellow traveller....
Thank You very much for sharing this voice. These words and the knowledge about Ahbez shall spread out. I want to recommend You a person, who would have called Eden Ahbez his brother in mind, if they only had met each other: Gusto Gräser.
+Thomas Duffy It is a painting over my sofa - an outsider masterpiece done by KATERINA MOURATI, an artist, close friend of mine, leaving and painting in the holy island of Apocalypsis, Patmos!
Could you please post this old version again??? Thank you!!! "I found it much harder to hear and understand Eden Ahbez in this version, versus the one you had on your website about 10 years ago. That one was incredible."
Joe, I wish I would have met him, did he publish that book he talks about in the recording? I am 18 and I just want to read about his ways of thinking, maybe help him to inspire Youth.
Man that was a great conversation and ideas I might quit my job and write music LOL (I dont think so) He sounds real peaceful. amazing to see people who live their life the way they want!! thats whatits all about!
Joe, Did Ahbez ever finish the book of which he spoke? Did you ever read his book from the 50's "the Gospel of Nature"? Thanks for posting this most enlightening vid.
Hey joe ! I'm currently writing a poetry book and I'm heavy influenced by ahbe I dropped out of school and lost my job I need ppl like u if u read this I think I have wisdom and I need a mentor of somehow-peace and love jay
Joe, Ebez should of been a millionaire from his royalties. How did his song get to the right people? He looks angry, bitter, and wounded in all his pictures. Not even a single smile anywhere. I know an old schizophrenic bum in St. Augustine FL who is arrogant and narcissistic in other words a know it all. I've got to listen and study to his album.
This is my great Uncle Ahbe. What a treasure. I only met him once. His brother Lester was my paternal grandfather. God Bless.

God bless you and your family.
If he really was you’d know he doesn’t like using upper case for his name.
❤🎉love to you

He is inspirational to the heavy hearted
This man was one of a kind, a real human being, the music is good but reduce the soundtrack volume 75% so it is not over the great man's words.
Agree. His words should be prominent
Yes, please edit out the too loud music. Thanks!

yeah the guitar sounds are very distracting and obscuring his voice which is unfortunate.
Fantastic just hearing this great humble man makes you happier

Your music underneath is beautiful too. Thanks for posting the clip!
In 1948 this GENIUS changed the world.
WOW...especially his short poem around
3:50 into the video...

Eden Ahbez is my great uncle. My paternal grandfather’s brother.
How tragic he lost his son so young .
wikipedia says he died at age 22.
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
Why is everybody commenting on the "terrible music"? I personally like it, it's calming to me.
Much Love !!!💕🙏💕😊

Why is the music LOUDER then the tape.It ruins it in my opinion
please, let his voice to "sing" alone, without "background"...
+Thomas Duffy It is a painting over my sofa - an outsider masterpiece done by KATERINA MOURATI, an artist, close friend of mine, leaving and painting in the holy island of Apocalypsis, Patmos!
THANX!
@Brighten Tompkins thanx Brighton.
Could you please post this old version again??? Thank you!!! "I found it much harder to hear and understand Eden Ahbez in this version, versus the one you had on your website about 10 years ago. That one was incredible."
Agreed on the older, original version from the website. The music just worked much better and was at a more appropriate level in that version.
Thank you Joe x
The hippies came and went. There was, is and will always be *ONE* ahbe
Good words. UNfortunately the music is so loud that I hardly can understand him.
A man ahead of his time, wait, a person ahead of it's time, oh, you know what I mean.
When I was in eden's presence I was to dumb to realize the coulda been day. Mort Wise
Eden Ahbez was single-handedly responsible for getting Stan Jones’s Ghost Riders in the Sky to Burl Ives’ ears....and the rest is history!
However, Scatman Crothers nailed it.
No. But I feel it's still being written.
This is amazing✨🕉☯️✨
Yeah, he just came up for me. My friend and artist Mark Roller looks a lot like him.
Joe, I wish I would have met him, did he publish that book he talks about in the recording? I am 18 and I just want to read about his ways of thinking, maybe help him to inspire Youth.
Wow, he sure was an interesting man.
The music is so distracting.. I can't listen to what he's actually saying, can you do a version without music? Thanks
Please - record this without the irritating background music! Would love to be able to hear what Edem Ahbez is saying. Thank you
That's Eden's music.
@@sclogse1 Rewatch and read… it’s Joe’s
Man that was a great conversation and ideas
I might quit my job and write music LOL
(I dont think so) He sounds real peaceful.
amazing to see people who live their life the way they want!!

Please put this up without the music. I am sorry but it is too hard to hear what he is saying ❣
you got that right!
did you know him?
i did.
Cool! ;-)
No,but I sure can relate to an eccentric
fellow making it big via a hit song!
We need more Eden Abhezes....if such
is possible...
Joe,
Did Ahbez ever finish the book of which he spoke?
Did you ever read his book from the 50's "the Gospel of Nature"?
Thanks for posting this most enlightening vid.
oh no...the music! It's unnecessary, and intrudes on his wonderful voice. Anyway, how did you know him?
***** Thanks. Bummer about your G+ account! What is happening at google? Are they all smoking meth!
Hey joe ! I'm currently writing a poetry book and I'm heavy influenced by ahbe I dropped out of school and lost my job I need ppl like u if u read this I think I have wisdom and I need a mentor of somehow-peace and love jay

The music is too loud to hear him properly.
Sorry. Wish I could. Copyright issues.
Beautiful ~ I wish the music was not in the background though
Thanks for posting that. Did he publish his book?
Did he make it to the beach?
May I ask what was the relationship between Eden and your mother, Joe?
totally annoying music, we want to hear him!

Here we are, Walt.
Can't hear him due to the unnecessary added dumb music!! 🎵🎶
