      Do it in reverse; take the voices from animal crossing and restore them to "normal"...

    I liked how the text to audio sounded way smoother when you used the right letters!
    It's crazy how much of a difference it made.
    Also did you end up splitting the sound clip with all the letters into individual clips? Or is there a way to do that in wwise?

    • @Blipsounds
      @Blipsounds  4 роки тому +3

      Thanks! Yeah I was surprised too! And I split it all up before Wwise in reaper :) Wwise can't do that!

    Today I went and bought a microphone.

    Maybe you already have a video for this but I am always so curious what its like in the life of a sound designer for video games. What are industry standards for additional software knowledge outside a DAW? Do you need to know how to code? How can you make money as a freelancer outside of selling sound packs/ working on games or are these the primary ways to monetize this skill? I hope someone see's this and would love more info. Been looking on YT for a while :) Great content!

    I have no good brain thoughts on why there aren't more views here. I love this so much. I liked and subbed because this info is invaluable.
    I AM CURIOUS! Does this.......(as I'm typing, I looked up at the description and saw my answer)....... work in FMOD? I'm not a coder and I have never coded, so that stuff you were doing with the language didn't look possible to me, but FMOD seems easier.

      Not a bad idea! I think those sounds might be a little different since they don't have text attached and just need a pitch and a vowel sound. Sounds like it could be fun to dive into though!

    This is super useful! Mostly for the indie scene where limited budgets mean you have to make do without real voice acting. It would be interesting to watch as a follow up how to recreate Celeste's voices!

    • @Blipsounds
      @Blipsounds  4 роки тому

      Yeah it really does help. I would like to see indies try to do a spin off of this instead of copying it directly as it will make the games sound more unique.
      That's a great idea! Voices in games is such an interesting topic as a whole and you can do so much with it!

    I know you only make videos for Unity users, but would you have any idea on how to integrate this into UE4? Is it possible to use the same code? I know Wwise can also be used with UE4 but havent found any guides on animalese for this. I am making a small game and want to try having some sort of tts style.

    • @Blipsounds

      @@Blipsounds No I don't have dialouge system yet ^^' Sorry. I will build a mockup/prototype system soon tho. But could you do any pointers on where to start, if you have any idea for UE4 users? You did it wrong. You're supposed to build a phonetic inventory out of the sounds in the language, not just say the letters. You should try this again, but maybe use your own simplified version of the International Phonetic Alphabet, recording consonants and vowels separately. You made it sound like the characters are just spelling the words, not speaking.
