The beat behind this music and the emotion in her voice really give this song a more sinister twist. Now that I think about it, all the songs in this performance are a bit more sinister than the original. I absolutely love it!
her voice is great, and she made heather sound more angry which you can really feel even more than just her being sad . The word sad is very vague but now you know that she’s angry and sad, you can really know what she feeling
For whatever reason, this number was skipped on opening night when I went to see the show (maybe Rachel wasn't feeling well? Who knows?). Of course I was a little disappointed at the time, because this is one of my favorite songs in the show, but luckily, Rachel Karashay made up for it with arguably some of the best acting in the production. She really brought all of the heartbreaking emotional depth that Heather Mac needs and more, even without the song. Now that I finally get to hear her rendition of Lifeboat, all I can say is this: TOTALLY worth the wait.
I loved that she tried to make it her own, and that's good. but she tried to expel on the use of her voice. the song is suppose to be low and serious. not out there and wild like candy store, its a moment of crying out for help not exploring the tones and waves she can turn with her vocals. they're nice and good, but that was too repetitively and defiantly not right for that song.
Eat My Entire Sass I'm glad someone said something, she has such a beautiful voice but I lost my train of thought listening to her change up the notes from the original. But as I said before, she's got a beautiful voice.
Not every rendition is meant to sound exactly like the original. They stand out because they made the songs their own. It would be boring if every single production was exactly the same. Even new casts that work with the original do small changes to make each show a different and new experience for the viewers
Nikki Tran Yeah, but her intonation was way off. There's a difference between putting in a couple of notes of your own and completely changing the key of the song in the middle of it.
She was sick the whole time and her voice wasn't that strong. Also the director decided to change the song. I do like the old version better but she sang it how she was suppose to.
"The tiniest lifeboat, with people I know...." huh maybe I should turn the volume up a little bit... "EVERYONE'S PUSHING EVERYONE'S FIGHTING" (falls off chair)
She's SOOOOO pretty!! Also I love how she actually acted it like she was sad. I see so many people play this song as a joke. I also like how she tried to make it her own but it'd isn't really work for this song
I honestly hated how they changed the notes. Totally ruined the song due to how it also changed the feeling of the song. On the flip side, I loved her voice! V strong and the way she displayed the emotion was heartbreaking. The "who made her captain" was kind of harsh but the emphasis worked rather well.
I saw someone comment this but she didn't change the notes the musical director did and since she was sick during the performance she couldn't do them to the best of her ability.
voice: amazing. absolutely stunning and full of emotion. i love heather m in general, one of my fave characters out of any musical for the depth of her and honestly she needs more characterisation and this amount of emotion i felt a little closer to heather m. she felt real. song: oof changed way too much. there were some parts changed that went great, but it sounded too happy? for such a dark piece literally about a girl thinking she's the next to go. idk i liked when certain parts were held out and i liked the end where it was repeated but the final ending notes shouldve remained true to the piece. it ended high and happy.
This was amazingly powerful. She made the song her own, and it worked so incredibly well! I've seen a lot of covers where they either try to copy Elle or make it original and just kind of fail, but this was AMAZING!
I didn't really like the way she changed the song :( i understand that she doesn't have to sing it exactly like the original but i feel like she just changed it way too much and sometimes it was even off key. she has a pretty voice though!
I've always kindawondered what the pain that Heather MacNamara (idk how to spell) was suffering from. Then I wondered....was she actually pregnant? BUT LIKE THAT IS SOME TERRITORY FOR ANOTHER TIME BECAUSE TOO MANY TIDEAS FOR FANFICS FOR THIS.
It just sounds like she has an anxiety disorder, which can make you feel extremely sick in the most unlikely moments. The way she talks and sings about her life suggest pretty bad anxiety.
If you’re going to change the melody, at least make certain you stay in the same key. She had the guts to try and make it her own which is awesome, but guts with vocals require your ear to be absolutely solid and performing live like this with no in-ear monitors makes going rogue like this EXTREMELY difficult and absolutely not advised. If she had been able to keep to notes within the key, it would’ve been phenomenal with her emotion. But you live, you learn, you do better next time.
The sort of banging in the background of the music (the really low notes) really put me off of the song. I also don't really like how she'd change the notes of the song, which changes the whole meaning of the song. She has a great voice, but the overall song here was 'meh.'
Her acting was amazing, she put such a strong twist on the role, and her voice is great, but with this song it has more of a flat tune, the kind that makes you stop and listen to the emotion expressed and she has heard That, and tried to embody it but along the way took away the original emotion. No hate meant, I just hear this song a lot and usually it is one of the two only songs that can make me stop and listen, no matter what, but this took away the desperation of the song, instead adding fear more than anxiety and less depression, more extream sadness. An absolutely amazing voice, wrong tune. What aslo needs to be taken into consideration is that the song after this is when she trys to kill herself, and so the desperation is there as an almost foreshadow of That, especially with the line that introduces the song before she sings. Once again, no hate, just my opinion and maybe trying to help as I hear this song a thousand times on a daily basis, by a variety of different singers. Whilst she has some of the best acting I've seen for it except one or two, I think maybe she altered the tune slightly too much. Thanks for reading my rant if you made it this far xx
As someone else already kinda said - She has a lovely voice, but the directors choice to switch a bunch of the notes left her pitchy and completely off key in some areas. If they'd stuck to the original I feel she could have done much better. x
She wasn’t really good at THAT song, I’m sure her voice is lovely on more chirpy songs, but she didn’t fit the tune on this, you need to be doing cold, shaky, crying voice, by still make it sound good, It’s quite a hard song~!
Em, I don't understand this scene. Can somebody explain this a little please? And, who is her? Sorry, I have heard all the song But I don't understand this. -. But I love the song
Heather M is like the Peggy of Heathers
Kate B yea kinda
Kate B fuckin hell they have the same color of dress/skirt
@trollcat I mean they are both like the ones that aren't that relevant/left out. The ones that are just there and a long for the ride.
Kate B yeah except Peggy actually dies, and Heather is still alive
Kate B No, Duke is.
OH MY GODS HER VOICE IS SO POWERFUL THERE ARE TEARS IN MY EYES
Trashy Trans Boy she is a lot better than when she was in candy store
😅😘😍😷😷😷👻😼👻👻
Local Loser towards the end I was iffy cause she was elongating notes that are supposed to be shorter.
there are tears in my eyes too but for a different reason
@@karleymercer7102 I have tears in my eyes from that horrible rendition of Lifeboat....
The beat behind this music and the emotion in her voice really give this song a more sinister twist. Now that I think about it, all the songs in this performance are a bit more sinister than the original. I absolutely love it!
I don't know if those voice cracks were on purpose but that just made it 50 times better. I'm not crying I swear......
I think they were. That's what Makes her such a good actor
Of course they weren’t... it’s so shaky and off-key I honestly don’t understand why people are actually thinking this is good
It makes her think shes crying while singing and makes her sound upset well I think it kinda makes it kinda realistic about heathers sadness :D
All three of the Heathers were sick so you kind of have to understand that it could be from that or it was on purpose
her voice is great, and she made heather sound more angry which you can really feel even more than just her being sad . The word sad is very vague but now you know that she’s angry and sad, you can really know what she feeling
She's more kinda frustrated.
For whatever reason, this number was skipped on opening night when I went to see the show (maybe Rachel wasn't feeling well? Who knows?). She was sick
her voice is so powerful! I really don't give a crap if they changed the notes. I love her outfit more than the original outfit for Heather m

Eat My Entire Sass your profile picture scared me. XD
She really made this her own... Amazing! Job well done!
"The tiniest lifeboat, with people I know...."
huh maybe I should turn the volume up a little bit...
"EVERYONE'S PUSHING EVERYONE'S FIGHTING"
(falls off chair)
i got goosebumps. she is so amazing! the emotion in her voice and her acting are great
the tiniest lifeboat filled with
AND PEGGY
She's SOOOOO pretty!! Also I love how she actually acted it like she was sad. I see so many people play this song as a joke. I also like how she tried to make it her own but it'd isn't really work for this song
SHES SO GORGEOUS AND AMAZING

oop-
Everyone has different vocal ranges. Sometimes you have to change the notes to sing a song in your vocal range.
@Snow Ma agreed
I saw someone comment this but she didn't change the notes the musical director did and since she was sick during the performance she couldn't do them to the best of her ability.
Man this was amazing I can't stop rewatching this along with the shine a light reprise
Not my favorite version, but I loved how mush emotion she portrays in this. It was beautiful:)
This actress is amazing

I love the her singing but tbh where she holds her notes it kinda throws me off but otherwise good
This is so raw holy shit. The emotion is just so...... ALL IN FAVOUR OF STANNING THIS CHILD SAY 'I'
YES GIRL!!! SHE WAS AMAZINGG!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💗💗
her voice is beautiful it gave me the chills I'm crying her voice is like an angel
omg, she is so good!!!!!
I GOT THE CHILLS THIS IS GREAT
This was amazingly powerful. She made the song her own, and it worked so incredibly well! I've seen a lot of covers where they either try to copy Elle or make it original and just kind of fail, but this was AMAZING!
Honestly,
she's my canon Heather M.
Her voice is so powerful and just beautiful and her acting was awesome!
Best performance of Lifeboat ever!! You can feel the melancholy and anguish in her voice, it's beautiful 💛💛💛
1:43
Being told to harmonize or improvise by my director...
I didn't really like the way she changed the song :( i understand that she doesn't have to sing it exactly like the original but i feel like she just changed it way too much and sometimes it was even off key. she has a pretty voice though!
Elle is my only Heather McNamra
Nora Riley yes
IKR
Then you should probably never ever watch a production of heathers ever
Opinions
Yeah...so let's just shame anybody else who portrays her...cuz that's totally what we need...right?
me: cries in a moment that is heartbreaking
camera man: shakes camera like crazy
"never mind nice job ruining the moment"
Oh my god she's great!! I got chills from her!
why am i crying soha rd
DAMNNN I GOT CHILLS
this literally gave me chills
I'M CRYING THIS IS BEAUTIFUL
My goodness she's amazing!
Gamzeenmakara It may just be anxiety? I know my stomach feels disgusting when ever I get super anxious
Tildorf McDingledorf true but have you ever been pregnant? Damn.
Sascha Houpt I have not been pregnant....why....?
According to no source other than my own intuition, it is worse than anxiety.
It just sounds like she has an anxiety disorder, which can make you feel extremely sick in the most unlikely moments. The way she talks and sings about her life suggest pretty bad anxiety.
Her emotions were so good
This company in general is so incredible. I teared up...
OMG SHE IS AMAZING
I LOVE HOW SHE MADE THE SOMG HER OWN BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE TEND TO IMITATE THE ORIGINAL
Theatre Nerd Hey there! Normally I would agree but there are notes you have to stick to.
holy heck this is so good!!!! i'm close to crying here aaa
She is so cute
Heather m is my favourite heather and honestly this mcnamara DEVOURED
She was great, but I don't like how she changed the song.
Yea
She probably didn't change it. It was probably a directors choice. Usually the actors don't have that much say in that kind of thing
1:42 it went downhill real fast
this is so beautiful i'm sobbing
I love this song and performance it made me cry
SHES INCREDIBLE😍😍😍INSANEEEEEEEEE, KEEP GOING
Heather M looks like my drama teacher
I loved this so much 😍😍😍
LOVE YOU GIRL
I'd love to see a full version of this production
The “goOoiuoouUOioO”💗💗
HOLY SHIT THAT WAS INCREDIBLE
oh my god this is so awesome
I didn’t like the “well who made her captain”it was forced
Okay but I keep on forgetting about Kurt and Heather M! This was beautiful though! ❤️❤️
She didnt do it right, but she still did amazing
If you’re going to change the melody, at least make certain you stay in the same key. she changed the notes WAY to much it doesn't even work well anymore
0:02 is that Mrs Jenn I see
I feel like she over done this
And I'm like Jesus I'm on the friggin bus again because all my rides to school are dead
The voice was amazing but she changed the tune too much
What production was this?? OWO
Is there any way you can post the whole show with the dialogue in between songs? Thanks!
She changed it to much at the end
Ok ouch. I mean its not bad but the changes in the song didnt work at all for me
I'm sorry , SHE WAS SING THE WRONG TONE I TRIGGERED
Hm..I actually liked the way she changd some of the melodies.
why did she change the tune and make it all over the place? it changed the feeling of the song
The sort of banging in the background of the music (the really low notes) really put me off of the song. I also don't really like how she'd change the notes of the song, which changes the whole meaning of the song. She has a great voice, but the overall
song here was 'meh.'
She's so cute but she could've put more emotion into it
Crack Baby bitch where??😑🤔
I hate that they changed the notes. It ruins the song for me.
ikr
acidberry they adapted it to her vocal range so it doesn’t sound like utter shit
She is good but ruined the Song in my opinion... she literally changed the melody of the song at the end.

Thanks for reading my rant if you made it this far xx
She changed it too much...it sounds pretty but does not match what’s happening..it sounds more light hearted..
Guys let’s stop being nice it wasn’t that good but her acting skills were better then any heathers
She changed it too much no offence she does sing good but I LOVE the original cast
As someone else already kinda said - She has a lovely voice, but the directors choice to switch a bunch of the notes left her pitchy and completely off key in some areas. If they'd stuck to the original I feel she could have done much better. x
Not a fan of the way she tried to chance it up :/

Em, I don't understand this scene. Can somebody explain this a little please? And, who is her? Sorry, I have heard all the song But I don't understand this. -. But I love the song
It was bad.
She changed the tune too much
It sounds off key
this sucked
She literally sounded like a cat being strangled...
