Cam’Rom was something like an urban legend, myth, or some s___, in The MidWest. You’d ask yourself back in the day, “Why is this serious emcee from Harlem hanging out in The Midwest so often?!” Then, in a matter of seconds, it’d click in your mind, and you’d just grin, laugh, smile, and think, “Oh, he’s really out here doing business exactly like he says he does on his records… Okay, boss… Do your thing… Appreciate the shoutouts, and thanks for showing The MidWest some love for real.” After we all realized that, and he organized The DipSet, Cam & The Diplomats were respected, and talked about like living legends. The hype around them in the early 2000’s was insane. It’s hard to help people who weren’t growing up in that era understand just how big of a deal they were at that time. It was crazy, but in the best way.
I wasn’t a big fan but this music today has made me listen to the old shit I didn’t fuck wit and cam and dipset have my respect, I missed it and then picked it up late

I can imagine what it feels like to hear people say it was a time when everybody was waiting for the lyrics and hear how special hip hop was at that time and then realize you were stuck behind bars and missed out on the most important time or lost your youth to bs. Man you just don't know when your young the freedom you have and one day around 27 28 years old you just start thinking different adulthood kicks in and as you get into your late 30s early 40s just hearing a song takes you back. The nostalgia and wallo don't have that. He is a good guy that made a mistake because of the environment he grew up in taught him that. I'm really happy for him to have gilly by his side and see them doing it right cause gilly got screwed over too.

Thank you 🫡🫡
Thanks😅
Cam said Hov did his verse in 6 mins one take! One of my all time fav verses
Its criminal to be that talented
Nigga Hov is the oricle of rap
Got that from Big he didn’t write either
@@primeninja9 actually Clark Kent juss did a interview with math on his pod and said Hov was doing it first and Big got it from him

I literally grew up on Dipset. Some of my best memories are chilling with my friends in the projects listening to Cam’ron and the Diplomats. Cam is a legend for real.

This is a beautiful interview and Camron has matured so much. I love the way he publicly attested the fact that MASE and Damon Dash were pivotal to his development. Great kob guys, you allowed the man to talk 👊🏾
I have to say I don't know if it's just the times but when people come on this podcast you see them in a different light ..like they trust them fully and can be there real happy selves....all of there interviews are great ...they say the internet is a gift and a curse ...this podcast is a gift
You know what....I watched this and Cam solved the roadblock I've had for about a year... Sometime people gotta evolve ALONE, you can't bring everyone with you .. Especially the ones who ain't about getting money💯
This is by far the best episode of the podcast.
I think I’ve watched every Cam interview ever……….this might be the best one. No 🧢….Ya’ll goats for this. 💯💪🏿🔥🔥🔥🔥
For real, I said the same thing
“We here now” who else knows that feeling? Cam had me feeling on top of the world at 16. Horse and Carriage etc etc.
Yo Cam was definitely comfortable and I ain’t never seen him laugh that much in a interview!😂
That’s cuz he got them new teeth 😁
@@leopard7440 😂😂😂😂 definitely nigga can’t even talk straight
@@leopard7440 you liked a nigga grill?
That's family to Cam that's why
Cam only like that with people he call family
Nah for real!!!!! So genuine
You can tell cam super on top of everything that’s going on in 2022 back to his old days…he tapped in frfr
Great interview. One of Cam’s best interviews. I love when he tells his stories.
Super dope interview! I could’ve watched another 30 mins!! Ya’ll took me back to my Sonny Hill developmental league and Total Response days in 91-92!!✊🏾
This is an instant classic. One of the best pods I’ve ever heard from a real one from the rap game
Cam is the best story teller of this century
I love this interview, I use to have the biggest crush on cam in highschool he so mature and he’s a great story teller.
I'm so happy for wallo. I'm really happy for him to have gilly by his side and see them doing it right cause gilly got screwed over too.
i feel ya i was in jail when cypress hill's black sunday came out and i had my girl in line at tower records to buy the CD and i called her collect and she played me the whole album over the phone!
PS how did gilly get screwed over?

This is the most candid I've seen Cam'ron in an interview! You can tell he got alot of respect for Gillie. Same cloth
Nah Gillie is a clown, jealous f*ck too
Different cloth. Gillie ain't built like cam. Fallback
Best Cam interview so far, good shit
Picturing that Cam and Gerald Levert scenario is funny as hell
Wow, I’ve always loved Cam as an artist, but seeing how HUMBLE he is now, makes me respect him even more… The Maturity & Growth is REAL…
Odee humble now it’s almost weird not seeing him talk shit lol
Yea this is one of the best ones so far.
