- This video was suggested to me by one of you so I decided to make it! Here it is, my needlessly long thoughts on OMG and why I’ve lost interest in it plus three reviews!

The thing that made monster high different from any other doll line is the fact that besides being dolls they were characters living in their own unique world with their own personalities and styles, when I got monster high dolls back in the day they always felt more special than any other doll that I had because of how intricate the designs and the characters were. RH/OMG dolls usually draw inspiration from mainstream fashion so they just aren't that interesting to me, and even though MH did the same they always added a fantasy spin on it (you can tell that they were made in the 2010s, but they didn't age as badly as the other fashions from that period because of the unique details they had). I also think that we feel more attached to the monster high brand because of how much effort Mattel used to put in the MH lore, it had great stories and you can really tell they were trying to design dolls that were not only cute, but that actually had a backstory in the world they lived in.

You honestly took the words right out of my mouth. As much as I love RH & grew to love OMG, MH is always gonna stick with me for the exact reasons you mentioned. Because while MGA does make better quality dolls, Mattel is better at developing the world and characters of their lines and the stories surrounding them. Something MGA has always struggled with IMO.
The details to the tweens boxes converting to rooms n all the accessories is notha level...really impressed with this line!

Objectively RH and omg are great quality and looking dolls but I have no drive to buy them. The few I have I got excited for a bit but ultimately left them to gather dust on the shelf. And I agree for me they were used to fill the huge gap in the doll industry a few years back. With MH coming back I’m so fully invested and can’t put the dolls down. The characters are familiar and their stories/styles are being refreshed for a new generation and I’m totally here for it.
I love omgs. I prefer them to RH. They are more fun and their outfits are generally much better. MGA is making a mistake releasing too many dolls in all their lines.
I don't think any doll line will ever beat G1 MH. The dolls were gorgeous, great for collectors and also great for play for kids.
I still love omgs and I will carry on collecting them. I am not a completionist. I choose the ones I love the most. Sways is my favourite of the Queens. I just bought Gamma Babe reduced. She is fabulous!

Honestly, watching this video made me realize that your current feelings towards LOL OMG is pretty similar to how I feel towards RH right now.

As much as I love OMG (own almost every doll) the releases are too close together and even though I'm still going to collect them, once monster high becomes available to me I'm going to put the OMGs, BTWs, and Fierce off to the side to snatch up Monster High then go back for the others
My daughter & I like lol omg & tweens. We actually prefer them over RH/SH especially considering it’s more affordable. We’re excited for MH def our number 1. We have the 6 pack & Toralei so far can’t wait to get the others. Def Wednesday hope to get reel drama Lagoona 🤞💙💚. Mermaze Mermaidz are so expensive for what it is. Dream Ella & Bella seems pointless imo. I don’t know why those Glitter Babyz continue either I don’t know anyone buying those. I think I saw an earrings fly off when you were unboxing her 🤦🏻♀️🤞🤗 my fav in the queens was Sways.
I personally hate their faces, I love cartoon like character designs and loved toys like LPS with their big eyes but with OMG it just never looked right. I LOVE the Tween dolls because the face shape flatters the eyes more and as they're shorter they suit the bug eyes more. With the OMG's they can look a bit creepy considering how tall they are

And of course MH and EAh are the elite lines n the nostalgia to their movies n stories is unsurpassed. They spoke tp we who are the squares in the pool of circles....n allowed younger collectors to embrace their uniqueness
I do wanna get omg fierce Royale bee because I love how taller she is and overall her look I did got the repro of diva and I just didn't like her that much but with the fierce line with different looks and with more articulations and different expressions I like that

I loved this video! It was so different from what you usually make, and I really liked it! And I love you're outfit, it's so cute! And the fact that it's 30 mins? love it! I always love to hear your thoughts on doll lines or anything really, and I've been looking forward to you discussing your feelings towards omg and how they are doing.. for a while, I've felt that you've just been losing more and more interest in omg, and I will admit that it makes me kind of sad, but I completely respect your point of view, and can see where you're coming from.. I am personally an omg stan no matter what, and similar to you, I feel like I will prefer monster high and day of the week, but the thing is, I was first officially introduced to monster high in I think 2017, and unfortunately, the first ever movie I saw was the first reboot movie (welcome to monster high) And where I was from, I never saw monster high dolls in stores, and I actually wasn't fully aware that they had dolls until I think like 2020 or smt like that? So I feel like I technically don't have the same attachment as you do, cuz I was towards the end, but I watched all the movies, by 2018 (yes, I instantly became a crazy fan lmao), and I honestly thought monster high was just a movie series, but years later discovered it was based on dolls. I also watched the webisodes in like 2020-2021 I think, but the thing is, I've never, EVER, even seen an in person MH doll or saw one in stores, and so that's why I was excited for the creeproductions and the new gen cuz I have already missed out on the first gen, and definitely don't wanna miss out on it again. With omg, however, I was well aware of the brand by the time the big dolls came out, and at first I wasn't interested, but then I learned to love them.. and so I guess in a way, you can technically say that I do feel somewhat emotionally, and nostalgically, attached to the brand? idk, but like I said, I absolutely LOVE monster high, til the end of time and forever. I do agree, however, that the first few lines of omg were much better than the new ones.. I feel like after movie magic, it's just been downhill for omg. And I will say, there were some really good dolls, but I feel like, like you said, that them also changing what made lol surprise special (the packaging and the unboxing experience) really didn't help them. Like sure, the window allowed for less defects, and lately omg has been getting much (MUCH) better at quality control. (not too much, but definitely better than rainbow high.) But like, that took all the fun out of it. No more little shoe boxes and hat boxes. No more playset to keep. And probably most of these things were good when it came to storage and space, but like.. I don't know, I feel like lately omg has been losing their charm, like if you compare one of the queens dolls to one of the series 1 dolls, they just don't hit the same. I feel like the period of series 1-3, remix, and the opposite club dolls, were when omg where at their best. But then, the designs just became meh, and the dolls didn't have that same charm and gimick like they used to. I do think that at the rate omg is going with these dolls, where they are releasing poorly designed dolls in such a short amount of time, they aren't gonna last much longer, which personally makes me sad cuz these dolls are iconic, and I just wish could appreciate them a little more, however I do think that the direction MGA itself it taking isn't the brightest. I just.. I wish things could go back to the way they used to, with OMG, monster high, just everything.. but sadly, things are changing, and I don't see the brand surviving much longer if this is how it's going for them, both on the consumers' and MGA's sides. Again, these are just my thought, and if you don't really care for the brand I understand that.. It's just that, I loved a lot of your content from that time, and I was actually first introduced to your channel by the time you were doing the opposite club sunshine and moonlight doll reviews.. and I just hold a lot of these memories close to my heart cuz I get emotionally attached WAYYY to easily lol. 😅😭 Anyway, those were my thoughts (really long, unnecessary, boring, all-over-the-place thoughts), thx for always sharing your thoughts on dolls, and while I admit it's kinda sad to see you deviate from a certain something, I know it means that you're deviating towards something else, and I can't wait for the future of your doll collection and what you decide to do in the future. On a lighter note, 16:14 and 16:39 had me laughing my ass off. 🤣 And I'm also one of those people who watch videos til the last second, so can't wait to see what mattel sends you tomorrow! 😅🤫🤭 Thx for another great video Lizzie! 🤗

I lost interest in LOL OMG because most of them look too bright and colorful in my opinion. And similar to how I feel about Bratz, I never liked their faces. There are a few dolls like Moonlight BB, Aya Cherry, and Spicy Babe that I really like from the line, but most of them never interested me very much. The Tweens are cute, but I wish that they would release less of them with blonde hair or too much pink in their outfits. Then when RH came out, I stopped collecting OMG and Tweens dolls for the most part. Then SH came out and I fell in love with the color scheme and aesthetic of the Storm Twins, who are two of my favorite dolls in my whole collection. Currently, I feel torn between MH and SH because while I love the quality, color schemes, and aesthetic of SH dolls, MH has much more immersive lore and superior characterization. And I agree that MGA is releasing way too many dolls, and that is why I only get the SH/RH dolls that I really love the aesthetic and color scheme of.

I can’t stand the faces, they hurt my eyes. They look way too juvenile for my taste. They give me the same vibes as Funko Pops, and I can’t stand those either.
I think mga is getting a little bit cheap and over priced but I did buy one of there new dolls they are better quality but for rainbow bow high costume ball is a little disappointing I love the new dolls but $37just for one doll and no second out fit is just not right it should be $26
I've never bought a MH doll, in fact RH/SH are the first fashion dolls I've bought since bratz so I have more love from them, MH I never bought them until this upcoming drama reel dolls so no nostalgia or deep attachment there 😂😂😂
