  • How to make Bubble CPAP
    A quick demonstration of how to make indigenous bubble CPAP in 2 minutes so that it can be used in resource limited settings.
    An useful guide for pediatricians, residents working in resource limited settings.
    CPAP provides an intermediate respiratory support to patients who are having respiratory distress on free flow oxygen but not severe enough to require positive pressure ventilation

      The source of oxygen, attached to a flow meter can be used to humidify

    Please can you explain how can we set PEEP....I mean we set this from top or bottom

      The length (in cm) of the part of tube inside the water column in the pedi chamber is equivelant to PEEP.
      E.g. If length of tube immersed in water is 6cm, then you can think that approximately 6cm H2O PEEP is getting delivered

      Water always has to be kept lower than the level of the child.

    Sir maximum O2 how much we can give?

    • @PediaTricks007
      @PediaTricks007  3 місяці тому

      Same principle as giving oxygen by nasal Cannula / prong. Maximum flow rate can vary depending upon age.

      Thank you so much Sir, please suggest for neonate maximum O2 in litter

    • @PediaTricks007
      @PediaTricks007  3 місяці тому

      For Neonates better to use up to maximum 1-2 L/min via nasal Cannula

      Me.... Thinking by using this method we can increase O2...

      Yes why not. U can use a blender to regulate FiO2 and give desired amount

    HW will we know about peep sir ??

    • @PediaTricks007
      @PediaTricks007  4 місяці тому +1

      That's a very good question. The amount of depth of the tube inside water correlates with PEEP. for example if the depth of tube inside water is 5cm, then it delivers PEEP of approximately 5cm

    It's not working the patient is going to cyanosis

    • @PediaTricks007
      @PediaTricks007  7 місяців тому

      A patient having cyanosis obviously has some very serious condition like a cyanotic cardiac defect or a very severe respiratory pathology and in such cases this indigenous CPAP may not be enough. Kindly consider intubating the baby and putting on ventilator or management as per need and protocol
